Because Yah, I remember a documentary, perhaps by Nature.. some organization.. many years ago about the Lions of Namibia and how they were cut off from ancestral beach hunting grounds and had lost living memory but the researchers et al could only watch and hope someday the lions would again find the beach. This is really so wonderful to see because it will help the lions survive and grow and hopefully not poach cattle et al from humans. Great news! I'm all for it.

Wow amazing, normally brown hyenas hunt the seals. Now, these lions traveled a great distance considering the prey they have in the desert alone. Alot of trouble to go through, but in this case it paid off

Those lions will probably get pretty big eating seals all the time. That's a lot of blubber, not like the lean animals lions normally eat. It would be interesting to study them for a long time and see the effects of eating a fatter diet than most lions.

This is human's abnormal behavior of releasing lions in the shore, not the lions extra ordinary behavior. The poor seal probably suffered too much of an animal not knowing how to kill it.
Stunning footage! This has to be the easiest prey lions have ever had. And with so much easy protein and fat in their diets there's going to be an explosion in the lion population on the beach soon enough. And then man will get there and destroy the habitat as we always do.

So WONDERFUL to see these beautiful cats regain this tradition after cattlemen nearly wiped out their prides in the late 1980s.
There are no cattlemen in that region, they were killed off by poaching and trophy hunting by Europeans.

These desert lions will gladly feeding on brown hyenas as well…not much prey diversity in that area.
