With that being said, I was recently in a room and we did a test with an lt25 and an actual fender twin reverb amp. The difference was night and day. The lt25 didnt sound nearly as warm or articulate as the real thing. I thought it would be in the same ball park with fender actually doing both, but no.
Just saw a used Fender Mustang LT50 for sale at my local Guitar Center for $149 US! I’m running over there right now to buy it! Great video and as always, a stellar performance! Bravo! I already have a Vox Cambridge 50. Eager to compare them to each other ‼️😍🔥🎸🎼
As is always the case with Fender's small-sized devices - strong coloration of the sound with a box. The product is suitable for home and studio use, but it is precisely because of this paint that we get the "wrong sound".
Your review sold me on this, the "70's Rock" amp is awesome, and act's just like a Plexi. For just a few bucks more than some of the higher end mini amps, this really rocks, fairly loud and even takes Fuzz Face pedals well😎

While this amp allows for a LOT of custom tweaks, I find the process tedious. I run Fender Clean with pedals. And for the price, it's a great amp. And for home use it will suit a lot of people... and not break the bank.
@@Jesuslovesyou-my8kx i love it! It made me practice my guitar even more I’m not a pro but it made me improve way better. As a self taught guitar player. The sound is amazing. It’s so much older than my Marshall amp that I still have. And my favorite feature is the thrash metal of course.
Excellent review. I didn't know about the amp. Wanted to buy the same for my daughter. She is starting out with elec guitar. She is big into Queen and Brian May. Just one line you said there about the preset that sounds like Brian May's, that's all. I'm gonna buy this amp based on that line itself. Thanks man!
This review alone made me go out of purchase, needed a practice amp with multiple tones, easy to use, and headphones/mp3 capabilities. Thanks for this great review.

LOL, my mom bought my first amp in the early 70s for 300.00 bucks, a terrible amp. Had to buy pedals on top of it. Its amazing what is out there for beginners and for practice maps now...so inexpensively. I've had a Mustang v1 since they came out for practicing, and I am sure I've spent way more time playing through it than through all of my other amps combined....just so damned convenient and sounds good...well, two settings sound good, anyway.
Hi Elmo. I've got the GT100, GTX50, and now the LT25. I understand we have to be a bit forgiving at this price point (it was $179Cdn!), but I have to say that A/B against the other two amps it sounds pretty poor. I've also compared it to my fender mustang micro on headphones and it sounds identical. It seems it's strictly just the speaker letting it down compared to its bigger brothers. To my ear it sounds rather muffled like you're hearing someone play through a door or something. You can EQ it out a bit (but not fully). I'm surprised they didn't try to EQ for the speaker a little better. I enjoy the micro/GTX50/GT100 but I'm having trouble with the LT25. Only the headphone out seems very good to me. I think it would sound better running a line from the headphone out to my PC speakers. That's....odd.

Been playing all my life, mostly acoustic until recently. Had a lousy long-gone Peavey as a kid, then a Fender Ultimate Chorus I still have 25 years later. Got a Fender Blues Junior to have a tube amp a few months ago and love it. Randomly went into GC to screw around, plugged a guitar in to try the guitar and wound up shocked by how fun this amp was. That plus the low price tag, no brainer to simplify practice. Never gonna be gigging with it, but if I had had this as a beginner I'd have had a lot more fun and probably been better today. :)
Since I spent more than the cost of this amp on a fuzz/tremolo pedal wich later broke, and same with my Fender Blues Jr. which have had tubes that quit costing a small fortune, I thnk I'll get this one !
Thx so much for all your reviews! That are non- biased, you certainly have given some great info, on a few amps to stay away from! And after hearing them I can truly see why! BTW great channel, lots of content/ info
I actually like it, it still does have kind of a bluesy feel ... I went to a shop for the Katana, but to my taste it felt like a hardrock or metalish taste preffering combo. Left it in the shop since I like more fenderish music...the LT series seem decent. Like it more than a Vox Valvetronic?
you can't go wrong with a vox vt20+ / nice clean nice crunch - nice line output if you need silentrecording and you'll get one for 60€ on eBay here in Germany 😎✌🏻
Seems fairly good for the price. But I’d like to have your opinion on the VOX VT40X which is a bit more expensive and powerful than the mustang lt25. Keep going dude !
@Wolf Well, I ended up buying the LT25 that week and I am really happy with it! In addition, it supports the Fender Tone app, which makes it even better to use. It has plenty of effects and it's (and sounds) really nice out of the box, as Elmo said in the review.
@Rockman Flash bro, can you point out the disadvantages of rockstar that you bought that made you wanna exchange it for the fender? Would help me a lot to choose my amp im buying hope you can help me.
I found one of these already used on Reverb for $127.00 (US)...I’m not in the market for another amp at this moment but it just amazes me at how little you need these days to get a fairly decent setup (guitar & amp) for well under $500 US dollars...especially if you shop the used market like I do...AND at 25W little Johnny will be pissing off the neighbors a lot while learning to shred the Elmo way...🎸🔊🎶🤘🏻
Did you blend the camera sound with the amp mic? Some of the heavier stuff sounds awfully compressed like you get when something loud happens in the camera mic, and I don't hear that that in any other reviews of this amp.
I have to admit that Mustang LT25 might not satisfy your needs easily and you would have to do lots of editing with all the sounds in the preset to get how you'd want it to sound. But worry not, it is still the best sounding amp in its league. I have a sample of what it would sound like if I try to emulate the Yngwie Malmsteen tone as provided in the link below: ruclips.net/video/BouuiIy4cag/видео.htmlsi=Q61uhETg2YJcv7m5 I used DOD YJM 308 as a booster. Let me know what you guys think.
aside from the overdrive have you tried it on the clean setting without reverb #13 on my version with other pedals? Though it has 30 varieties and can be tweaked a bit, some of the setting don't have the tweaks I'd like. It's great for space saving not having to set up pedals for quick practices and space issues. BUT the pedals are more control.. Have you tried blending an effects preset and pedals? I'm thinking of buying a larger, more basic amp if they even exist anymore with just reverb hopefully at most and use pedals too. not sure though another amp is necessary. I'm just amateur, at most if i ever get decent playing local
Great review and great playing, Elmo. Is the amp QUIET? I sold my Fender Blues Junior. I want a quiet amp that I can mic when recording. I'm a songwriter living in Alberta, Canada. You can hear a few of my tunes by typingin Jimzie Goulding here on YT. Greata review. Thanks. Jim
I have a question! I cannot decide if I want this amp in the 50w version or the boss katana mkii 50. It will be my only amp and i will use it as a practice amp most of the time. What would you choose?
I'm fairly biased bc this is the only amp I've ever spent a lot of time with, but its my favorite just for the clean tone alone. I think that with a proper setup and maybe some mods this little amp will be a beast added with a cab or a pa I think it'll even be good enough for live performance.
I appreciate an honest review and from yours I'm sort of between this, the microcube gx and maybe the boss katana mini. If you had to make the choice which would you prefer? Thanks :)
@@jasonbowman8698 I forget. They had a few different models. The Cube 60 with the "Classic Stack" setting was good. They might have had a smaller version of that as well. They did do a Micro Cube version of that, and the Micro Cube RX which was slightly bigger.
Elmo Karjalainen hey Elmo sorry to bother you those Roland cubes look great 👍 but I’m looking at the fender mustang lt 25 and I’m looking at the box valvetronix vt 20x for blues and grunge what would be your choice? I have a Vox VX 15 GT , it's a pretty amazing little amp. And one of the lightest I've ever picked up. I also think about getting one of the Mustang Lt 25W amps. Just for something alitttle different.
Hey guys. Do you recommend the Vox VX15 GT for a first amp, and you think this amp could be used with pedals like the metal muff and boss metal core?. Thanks for your advice!
I might have to check one of these out. I had the old mustang ii a while back and never really liked the sound, except when I used it with headphones for silent practice, with headphones it was amazing! Elmo, have you tried this with headphones?
yeah Elmo....its actually not half bad...ya know...i play Fender Got an early 80s Champ 12 w a Patriot Cannibis Rex speaker and mods...very pedal friendly .Great recording studio amp...Im thinking Fender is hit and miss on some of their new offerings...good sound on a budget but cant help hearing FEnders take on these models...Power Punch? Just call it Manowar man!!! Im always on the lookout for old Fenders....even old Peaveys for that matter
Two things you didn't mention 1: All of the presets can be tweaked to the user's needs 2: There are another 20 presets in memory, you can only store 30 at a time for active swapping w/ 20 "reserved" in the amp's memory. Once you update the firmware you can get 100 presets alongside 60 custom slots. Overkill IMO but it's nice to have and not need than need and not have ;) It's an awesome little amp, best option for under $200 if you're just getting (back) into playing. I tend to play blues, punk, thrash and reggae and even the acoustic model doesn't sound "bad". None of these presets will REPLACE the amp you're looking for but they can all be tweaked so they'll sound "close enough" and you'll be happy to practice on it.
I played the LT50 at the music store, and I think its a little too much for me. I haven't played my guitar for over 15years so im coming back. The LT might be just what I'm looking for.
@@navyvet87zavala95 15yrs... Hope you didn't leave the batteries in your pedals - Seriously though, if you're just playing for you then Fender's little LT25 is a terrific starting option. When you start looking at larger, more capable amps then I'd recommend Boss' Katana 100 mk2. 2x the $ but 5x the amp and allows for a secondary cab if you really want to piss off your neighbors
Can anyone tell me if the Fender LT25 has Volume controls for Preamp, Power amp, and Output. I can see there are 2 Volume controls.. but is there another in the software?
Hi, did you have a chance to try out the fender bassbreaker series amps and how do you like these? I got an bassbreaker 007 head used for only 200€ and even though its a very simple and cheap tube amp i like it much better than my boss katana or any other practice amp i tried. Is a bit on the dark side though (if you have the bass knob anywhere over 3. ;)

Did you blend the camera sound with the amp mic? Some of the heavier stuff sounds awfully compressed like you get when something loud happens in the camera mic, and I don't hear that that in any other reviews of this amp.
No, I always mute the camera audio.
I have to admit that Mustang LT25 might not satisfy your needs easily and you would have to do lots of editing with all the sounds in the preset to get how you'd want it to sound. But worry not, it is still the best sounding amp in its league.
I have a sample of what it would sound like if I try to emulate the Yngwie Malmsteen tone as provided in the link below:

I used DOD YJM 308 as a booster.
I'm just amateur, at most if i ever get decent playing local
ps like you sense of humor
Thanks! I don't remember anymore, as it's quite a while since I did this video.
this is what you call a bar room gig amp
I like the sound of this one I'm going to have to buy this for me sounds 👍
i got it for a practice amp.. but its amazing the extras
Where is the Black Knight Sabbath setting?
?
I got mine today. But it had a crack in it... So i hope ill get a new one
THANKS YOU i really wanted to know how it sounds on guitars solouu
So other than the high gain heavy tones, the rest of this amp seems pretty nice?
Great review and great playing, Elmo. Is the amp QUIET? I sold my Fender Blues Junior. I want a quiet amp that I can mic when recording. I'm a songwriter living in Alberta, Canada. You can hear a few of my tunes by typingin Jimzie Goulding here on YT. Greata review. Thanks. Jim
I love your heavy metal face!
I have a question! I cannot decide if I want this amp in the 50w version or the boss katana mkii 50. It will be my only amp and i will use it as a practice amp most of the time. What would you choose?
Personally I prefer this.
I'm fairly biased bc this is the only amp I've ever spent a lot of time with, but its my favorite just for the clean tone alone. I think that with a proper setup and maybe some mods this little amp will be a beast added with a cab or a pa I think it'll even be good enough for live performance.
I was after something small for bedroom practice,I ended up with the orange crush20 and I hate it,might try this or the katana
I appreciate an honest review and from yours I'm sort of between this, the microcube gx and maybe the boss katana mini. If you had to make the choice which would you prefer? Thanks :)
Personally I'd go for a second hand Micro Cube (not the GX, but the original one). But that's subjective.
what is the song you started playing at 7:02 for like 2 seconds? i really like the tune of it
Aint Talkin Bout Love- Van Halen
Hey Elmo great review. Would this amp be a good step up from a 10 watt practice amp considering all the options it has? Cheers 👍👍👍
Yeah, it might. Personally I'd go for one of the old Roland Cubes. I think they're even better.
Elmo Karjalainen thanks for the reply Elmo. Which model of the Roland cube is it? Cheers 👍👍
Cheers 🍻 and keep up the great work your tubescremaer mini review was awesome 😎 and I love your channel mate you can shred with best of them cheers 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Sorry that was Vox 😃😃😃
What about the LT 50 ? Orbis the 25 enough for small jams , rehearsals, small gigs ?
Haven't tried it.
I have a Vox VX 15 GT , it's a pretty amazing little amp. And one of the lightest I've ever picked up.
I also think about getting one of the Mustang Lt 25W amps. Just for something alitttle different.
Ben Johnson Just got the Vox VX 15 GT too..it have that Power Level knob and red Led Light through the panel grill so awesome!
@@eddysal6163
That's cool , have fun with it.
Awesome little amp. It has a pretty big sound for something so little.
Hey guys. Do you recommend the Vox VX15 GT for a first amp, and you think this amp could be used with pedals like the metal muff and boss metal core?. Thanks for your advice!
should be getting this one for christmas, hopefully it makes my 40 year old knock off stratocaster a bit of life again 😂
I might have to check one of these out. I had the old mustang ii a while back and never really liked the sound, except when I used it with headphones for silent practice, with headphones it was amazing! Elmo, have you tried this with headphones?
No, I didn't. I've never liked any amp with headphones, so I've kind of stopped trying :D
@@MrPolevaulter Headphones are never my first choice, but they can be really handy late at night!
@mrpolevaulter Does the 50 watt version get much louder than this? Amazing has a 20$ difference currently between them.
This amp or boss katana 50 ? I play blues & jazz + some time metal
Not a big difference. It's been a while since I tried this, so can't really remember, but I think you won't go too far off with either.
I between both as well. Which did you buy? People say LT25 sounds muffled next to the Katana 50..
yeah Elmo....its actually not half bad...ya know...i play Fender Got an early 80s Champ 12 w a Patriot Cannibis Rex speaker and mods...very pedal friendly .Great recording studio amp...Im thinking Fender is hit and miss on some of their new offerings...good sound on a budget but cant help hearing FEnders take on these models...Power Punch? Just call it Manowar man!!! Im always on the lookout for old Fenders....even old Peaveys for that matter
Yeah, it's not half bad :)
@@MrPolevaulter youre right we didnt have this option growing up
Hi Elmo, thank you for this great demo. I hesitate betwen this one and the Marshall Code 25. Any advice ?
I tried the Code 50, and totally disliked it. So for me, this one.
@@MrPolevaulter Thanks a lot
Are there stereo effects with this amp (reverb and delay), and if so, do they sound stereo when using the headphones? Thanks for the review!
I don't remember, and I didn't try it with phones.
Yes, there is reverb and delay
Hi
Fender Mustang GTX .. I think it is new. Maybe one day you may want to do a video about this amp.
Thank you
Already done. I did a video on the GTX50.
@@MrPolevaulter Which is good. Mustang GTX 50 or Mustang LT50
Brian May played through a little pocket transistor radio.
Two things you didn't mention
1: All of the presets can be tweaked to the user's needs
2: There are another 20 presets in memory, you can only store 30 at a time for active swapping w/ 20 "reserved" in the amp's memory. Once you update the firmware you can get 100 presets alongside 60 custom slots. Overkill IMO but it's nice to have and not need than need and not have ;)
It's an awesome little amp, best option for under $200 if you're just getting (back) into playing.
Is a bit on the dark side though (if you have the bass knob anywhere over 3. ;)
Not yet, but I've been looking for one second hand. Might just have to buy a new one.
When I switch the effects, the volume turns on very loudly and I have to turn down the sound again. How do I set the volume to work for all effects?
Sorry, don't know.
Thank you Elmo! Hey any chance you can do a video for presets to get a Jimi Hendrix tone (especially on ‘Wind Cries Mary”)?
Thanks! Sorry, no. Don't have the amp anymore, as it's ages since I did this.
Hey man, love your videos, great reviews!
I can’t chose between this and the orange crush 20RT?
This sounds more versatile but the orange feels like better hardware? I’m leaning towards the fender, to be paired with a strat. Any recommendations?
I didn't much like the Orange Crush, so I'd go with this.
Hello Elmo. What would you recommend for a begginer? The Fender Mustang LT25 or Marshall MG15GR?
I'd go for the Mustang.
@@MrPolevaulter thank you very much for the reply and help!
Can you tell me why?
Can you use a looper pedal with this?
Sure, why not. But only on cleans. On distorted sounds it would just turn into mush.
@@MrPolevaulter Beginner here just learning all of this. I want to thank you for taking your time and replying!
