  • Some ringing on this heavy 1921 Taylor 12 on the Young Bell Ringer's Facebook Group Outing to Leicester on Saturday 26 April 2014, organised by Stephen Aldridge.
    0:07 GTFU'ing the Tenor
0:29 6, 6b, 7, 8 being raised in peal - just for the giggles if nothing else - and note the fantastic sally on the 6b!! :-)
1:15 Rounds on all 14 (inc. ex1 and 6b) - the 6 and 6b are right next to each other (tight ropes required!!) and the ropes are round the wrong way, when Andrew and I swapped to form a "proper" rope circle, it sounded horrendous.... Well, worse than before at any rate ;-)
2:03 Rounds and call changes on the 12, picked out very well as the 12 are somewhat mushy inside, and a very respectable effort by a young group of ringers who had never rung all together before and when some were relatively inexperienced on higher numbers!!
4:47 Rounds on the back 10
5:18 Yorkshire S Major on the back 8
6:29 A quick burst of Grandsire Doubles on the back 6 to finish with. Too quick really but they did make a very fine noise!!
    Tenor 32-3-14 in C#. 1921 Taylors (ex1 1997, 6b 1945) Ho Ho Ho

Enjoyed my (all too brief) ring here on Sunday morning. Cracking bells, not the easiest though or the easiest to hear, but a great sound. Also felt the Cathedral were very impressive.

some of this video looks out of sync or are the bells really odd-struck?

Ah - the main video of the 12 came out really out of synch - I managed to improve it quite drastically but I think it's still slightly out!

Yes - there are 14 bells in total - the main ring of twelve, and two semitones (extra treble and 6flat, which has the wacky sally)Watch at 1:15; we are ringing all 14!
