Well thank you for that, and there was me thinking it was some university guild of change ringers. They are fantastic sounding bells will have to put that on my list of places to ring on my next trip over from Sydney.
All you bell ringers out there really need to be putting pressure on the licks of manchester city council for not allowing regular ringing/practice in that tower there's even a fully functioning campanile complete with scrolls even had Elbo make a re working espeaily for the bells but sadly no one to set it up come on get the pressure on !!
I rang at Liverpool in 72 just before I came out to Sydney. 82cwt is a big tenor and probably a bit over the top. I agree about the sound, The belfry is 90 foot high and made of concrete so the sound bounces all over the joint. Put a false ceiling in above the bells and some floor covering would help. Lining the walls would help. How good would they sound if you had the money to do it???????? Brilliant I think
Nice to see so many young people ringing, Lovely Stedman Cinques, my favourite. They are a wonderful sounding peal and sound like Worcester. Whilst I have a heart for Whitechapel no doubt that Taylors forte are heavy peals. How lovely it would be to see changing ringing go multicultural. Keep up the good work I give you a 10 out of 10 for this and thankyou, I enjoyed it so much PS sorry about the typos, that is what happens when I use a tablet or mobile phone
