    Baking is a science for anyone thats not italian! I love watching your videos with your nonna. It makes my heart happy. I lost my nonna in 2005 and watching you two together reminds me of what a wonderful woman she was, and hearing you speaking to each other just brings back so many wonderful memories. You ladies are both awesome!

    Laura, her walking away is fine really! You don't need to stress about her being the perfect cooking show hostess:) YOU are the perfect cooking show hostess and that is your talent and the reason why you're a star. She is the perfect Nonna so it's fine that she's just being herself on camera

      Neapolitan ;)

    • @3gals1980
      @3gals1980 9 лет назад +2

      makeupyourmind2019 Neapolitan is an italian dialect so technically the language is italian.

    • @makeupyourmind2019
      @makeupyourmind2019 9 лет назад +9

      onaicarg onaicarg Being that I am Italian, I'm aware it's a dialect. However, just in another post under this same video there's a comment written by Italians talking about how it's easier for us to understand when she speaks English than Neapolitan. That's how big the difference between Italian and Neapolitan is. If you go to school to learn Italian, you will not be taught Neapolitan, or only a few will be able to understand you, while Italian is understood across the entire peninsula.

    • @Nephenee89
      @Nephenee89 9 лет назад

      makeupyourmind2019 ahahahah great. Same for me. però, come le ho scritto sopra, è bellissimo vedere con che semplicità passa da una lingua all'altra :))

    • @Nephenee89
      @Nephenee89 9 лет назад +2

      onaicarg onaicarg Are you italian? No. Am I italian? Yes. Do I still live in Italy? Yes. Do you understand her "italian"? No. ME? neither. Ahahahahaah
      Joking, obviously I understand, but neapolitan is pretty far than Italian language. just as all other italian dialects,

    I very much enjoyed this video. Seeing her Nonna make that dough on her wooden board was so reminiscent of the days when standing mixers didn't exist. This is the way cooking was done. It was so much more a labor of love. I remember my great grandmother made all of her food this way. Brilliant.
    More videos with Nonna, please. I love her.

    DELIGHTFUL! Absolutely the most charming and genuine way to learn! I miss my Grandmother so much every single day and watching the two of you is reliving one of the best parts of my life. By the way, it is VERY scientific how she works her food. She cooks paying attention to each and every variable she senses from the food. Through touch, smell, sight, and the most important --- heart and soul, she creates meals that are literally sustenance made from love for her family. In my opinion, there is no greater, or more accurate, science than that! Laura, thank you so much for sharing your lovely family with us. God bless you all.

    My Nonna used to make a bowtie cookie with white wine in the dough. She would deep fry and then dip in a red wine and sugar reduction (like a glaze?). My all time favorite cookie. Those things were like gold. Do you know how to make them?
    Regarding her not listening...My nonna used to say, "you listen to them...and then do what you want to". haha!

And of course my Grandmother taught me most of what I know about the kitchen. They were all southern cajun women and loved food.
