    Brined chicken is amazing bruh

  • @SupraViperhead
    @SupraViperhead 11 месяцев назад +65

    The best part about brining is that you don't have to stop at just salt. You can add herbs, aromatics, and vegetables to it and really take the flavor to another level. I use carrots, celery, onions, peppercorn, fresh thyme, and fresh flat Italian Parsley.
    I brined my chicken then cooked my rice in the brine afterwards; it was the best rice I ever made.

    • @OriginalWoman95
      @OriginalWoman95 6 месяцев назад +1

      Gonna try that wow! I usually just add chicken bouillon to my rice!

    • @misterg2201
      @misterg2201 6 месяцев назад

      But isn't that more like a marinade rather than brining?

    • @SupraViperhead
      @SupraViperhead 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@misterg2201Marinades usually have vinegar or acid of some sort in them and some can be quite thick, almost saucy. Brine is all water, herbs and spices.
      But in the end, adding herbs and spices to a brine accomplishes the same goal as a marinade (that being flavor, even though marinades don't penetrate as deep as brines), but has the added benefit of adding moisture to the meat to help keep it from drying out in the cooking process.

      Meat benefits with some acid when marinating or brining as well as salt. If you're not putting salt in there its not a brine and you fail. Also if you're using Apple juice I would suggest a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in there.

      No, hot water after some time becomes warm and create an ideal temperature zone for fostering bacterial growth. Normally brining is done anything from 3 hrs to 24 hrs, so keeping the water cold is necessary.
