Mike looks like the mad scientist when he gets going on one of those chops. I admire his work and its obvious he has a lot of those chops on his resume.

You got a great accolade in the Hemmings Motor News email blast. Not only did they refer to you as a “master” of the fabrication art. Pretty cool and well deserved. Congratulations, master. Best always.

I like to mark my roof chops off by using (3" in this case) masking tape.
It's already at the exact spec you want, so you don't need to go around and mark all the measurements out. It's simply run the tape around and cut on the line. Boom, done!
    Love these videos!

I love watching the process of cutting the top. He doesnt explain why he just does it and you can see what he envisions, and thats more than enough to explain why he does it this way. I just got a 35 5 window that has a brutalized chop almost to the point of where I need another roof to start over with. But watching this lets me see where mistakes were made. So Cool

My truck in high school is a 2003 Dodge ram 1500 four-door white completely lowered 5 in lowering kit all the way around it I chop the roof on it lowered it nice cowl induction hood roll pans painted bumpers and the motor we put in it we took out the stock V8 that was in it that made like 300 horsepower and put in a SRT Dodge motor in it from a SRT viper truck that we found at the U-Pull-It yard which was crazy and we got it for 400 bucks a Dodge viper SRT10 motor and that was my high school truck and this thing was beautiful had the hot rod feel to it but was more modern looking because it was a newer truck this is back in 2010 when I did that and I didn't turn 16 until the summer before my senior year so I was turning 17 when I graduated high school

    Measure twice & cut once.
I can see it's not the first time Mike has chopped a roof... very talented and smart thinking.
Keep up the good work **

A chop to take them off for good isnt hard anyone can do it just takes your time and plan out the cut also cut less and leave some of the roof behind that way you don't cut to much if you wanna save from window frame or in a spot where it's gonna be easier to chop the pillars then put back on for a chop top and slant. I like to section my bodies of info a chop top to lower roof height and lower and shorten the body panels like doors fenders and quarters make it a little shorter looks better than just chopping the roof down and not lowering the body it looks funky if you don't lower the body as well as in section the body

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?
