I like to imagine based on this comment that James just carries a gearshift that just has R, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and *DIMENSIONAL SHIFT* where he just accelerates and vanishes leaving only fire, Back To The Future style
For those that don't understand: This is an image-generating AI trained on footage of people playing Minecraft. It has no concept of anything about the game *except* what it looks like to play. The AI inputs the most recent X frames (X is small, probably two digits) as well as the player's input, then outputs the next game frame. Crucially, it has absolutely no internal game state. The world is not stored anywhere. Your inventory is not stored anywhere. Everything about the world has to be deduced solely by the images it inputs. This means that if you look away from something, then look back a few seconds later, it will probably be gone and replaced with who knows what else.
Not just a few seconds, but only a frame or 2 would do the trick. Sadly, it only operates at 20fps (a third of a browsers max fps), but it is impressive.
i think it couldn't have been trained on only footage like YT videos, but also with inputs, otherwise it couldn't know what mouse movements and clicking are supposed to do. Or both, they might first trained it with footage+input to make it figure out what inputs do, and then flood it with YT footage when it could deduce the input on its own and just learn more about the game worlds.
