Took my @OldTownCanoeKayak AutoPilot 120 out for the first time in the Brewster pool on the Columbia River. As expected the kayak performed perfectly and battery consumption and range were as expected. I was hoping for King and Sockeye Salmon but you don't always get what you ask for.

Thanks for watching
Funny how you dropped your first rig in a seemingly empty river but when it lapsed to your second deploy, you were in the midst of a full armada! Thanks again for sharing your passion!
He must have moved his net to check it was secure. Other boats thought he hooked a fish. Won't be lonely the rest of the day.
@@normdeshon665 no , the place is crowded .
I know. I was thinking about kokanee fishing on large lakes. It doesn't seem crowded until you start catching fish.
Lol. Love the chicken at the end hahaha
I miss salmon fishing I moved to east Idaho from California and closest salmon here is the four hour drive great Video keep up the quality
Looks like the sockeye are running a little bigger than last year. I might have to make the trip despite the lower numbers.
Great video as usual those are good looking fillets
They are and they taste wonderful.
We were just there today you can actually see are boat in this vid when we went yesterday too
Hope you filled your freezers!
@@spiltmilt oh yeah we did
Another great video man, love watching how you do all these fisheries. I see we were fishing the same water that morning. I'm with my 3 boys from frame 5:33-5:58. The kiddos love that fast pace fishing. I knocked out a 18lb king that day that grabbed our sockeye gear.
Nicely done per usual.
Top notch video as always. I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you.
Great episode. I have found that pro-troll/360 flashers out perform the Leo's by far. But I'm mostly in the mid-columbia. I'm looking forward to seeing you have a double king on. That would be a good video. 👍
Great footage!! Hope you will get a king next time!!
Lol that ending
She was like...give me that meat!!!
Awesome! 😀
Awesome job on the sockeye, too bad the kings didn’t play.
Attack of the killer chicken!
Funny chicken! What's the air temp when you launch your boat in the early morning?
Typically low 70's or upper 60's.
Awesome video, was that recent or last year?
2021
Hey Tyler, thanks for the great video! Do you ever run pro trolls for kings? If so, what do you find the ratio of depth to line out on weights from like 8-14 oz? For example, would 8 oz of weight get you about half the depth on your line counter? Thanks!
I primarily run Pro-trolls for Kings. I generally run 12 oz for my pro-trolls and get about 1/2 to 2/3 drop for line out. So 100' of line out would get me 50-60' deep and so on.
Looks like the chickens are biting as well….
🤣🐟🐓
So funny with the dinosaur attack! Love the content, as always! What cooler do you use to keep your fish on ice out there?
Opah Fish Bag 30" amzn.to/3xA33nf
Follow up, I know you have done some rockfish fishing, with their spines, do you still use this bag arm would they most likely puncture the interior?
I've not.
The lilo has three holes in the top, Do you know the effect of each one? Love that red meat!!
The left and right holes cause the flasher to rotate in an arc like a pro-troll. The middle will cause it to spin without the arc like older flashers.
Thanks bro! Makes sense😎
Another stellar vid!
I've been trying to do research on the Brewster pool regulations this year. WDFW has always been aweful from my experience. Do you have a link that shows updated regulations? I gathered from your vid that it's 2 sockeye/day. Any idea when the season ends? Again, I'm having a hard time finding info. I see the dam counts are low, and that lower river limits is 1 fish....so confusing. Please help! I'd love to go next week if it's worth it. Thanks
Its in the regs. Normal rules www.eregulations.com/washington/fishing/columbia-basin-rivers-special-rules-columbia-river. 2 hatchery Kings, 2 Sockeye July 1 - Oct 15
@@spiltmilt Thanks
好
When you catch a fish, you drop it in the rear tank well without fussing with it. What do you have back there to put them in?
I have a soft sided catch bag back there.
@@spiltmilt Thanks. You must have yours set up very nicely. I have to fool around with mine to open it wide enough to get a fish inside.
For years I bought mid and low priced catch bags that constantly failed me. I finally invested in a quality bag that makes it so much better.
@@spiltmilt Looks like it was worth it. As always: thanks!
🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓
Do you bleed your salmon before you ice them?
Yes. Bonk and then cut the gills. I just don't do it on camera to avoid running into any issues with RUclips
@@spiltmilt That makes sense. I wouldn't want to chance that either.
