I distinctly remember the first time I heard this tune (Home)...my best friend had died and I was driving cross country from Baltimore to San Francisco and was somewhere in the middle of Kansas surfing through the FM stations when this caught my ear...it took me months to find out who the artist was, but I never forgot it. Something about it just gave me the warm and fuzzies or maybe it was the emotion of Hatman passing, don't know. Whatever it was, it was magical to me.
I'm so glad that our hideous selection of FM radio stations was able to offer you this gem of a song (no sarcasm). Kansas is equal parts beautiful and awful, and our open prairies and fields can sometimes have a very magical effect with the right music.
My uncle Orpheo is the percussionist in the band. I’ve been lucky enough to sit in and play with the band a few times for this song. Happiest feeling ever ❤️

But in the end its often also the downfall. So yeah, twice as bright, half as long seems fair enough of an observation.

Everyone else went clean and sober and didn’t wanna b around someone using whatever it is she was using so they went on tour without her untill (when and if) she decided to quit as well…she didn’t have an issue playing music with a bunch of turned sober hippies trying to make it in these changing times (I love this music so don’t think I’m downing them), THEY didn’t wanna play with someone who WASNT sober, so they took the authoritarian road and made that decision for her…and it became HER fault that no one was buying their music anymore? And i'm still coming back.This band holds such a special place in my heart. i'll always miss what this band used to be. whenever I get sad that they kicked jade out/changed, I remind myself of the amazing music they created for years and how i can always come back to it and that gets me through.
Her voice and the passion she has in the songs sends chills down my spine. She’s in love with this music. You can’t feel it seeping through the speakers.

The female signer is totally drugged out here. It's such a happy song about falling and being in love and I don't know enough about this band to know if they were ever together or just bandmates but you can see how over it all he is when he sings.
Yes, you can tell just by watching her in the video. Her movement is extremely erratic and characteristic of someone on heroin or speed. They ultimately kicked her out of the band due to her drug problems. I don't know if her and the lead singer were ever together but his eyes look like someone who loves someone he knows is already gone.
I love several of their songs, but this one, Home, is my favorite. However, you can tell that they are so cautious with Jade. She's literally super cute, but in this one, and other videos you can tell she was in her own world. It's sad that they had to kick her out, but glad she sobered up.
I'm not a groupie but I've long enjoyed their music. My feeling is Jade had the stand out voice in the group and nothing since she left is as interesting as when she was with them. Artists are often difficult and tortured souls.
no bands these days are in it for the money. if you manage to make a decent living out of it, you got very lucky. most bands tour relentlessly just to be able to afford to make an album that they won't make much from because most people have stopped buying music because they can get it for free. it's a shit industry to be in these days if you're not at the top.

Not sure what Jade is doing, but her voice is truly incredible and she’s very musical. The entire band is some kind of orchestrated chaos yet it all sounds so good, I feel like with that many members they’re really working together to contribute to that amazing sound.

Well it's actually pretty sad, as Jade was very high on drugs during this concert, Alex loved her like crazy and was extremely worried about her and it was hard for them to even get through the concert. That's why he was genuinely shocked about being requested to do one more song 😔

I know what it is... when the thing you love becomes public and a means for income, Like your relationship and your music, it becomes foreign and you resent it. They gave too much of their love and themselves to us and it broke. Wish them the best and be grateful for the music they created for us and wish them the best
