Thank you for you chd controller info . I've tried all the ways that other tutorials show how to access the pump pulse rate ie Hz and up to now nothing has worked. I'll try your method the next time I'm in my workshop
Hopeful it will work for you but since making this vlog i have come across 5 or 6 different controllers and some of them are not compatible with the CPU that comes with it. Before i could get this one working properly on my boat i had to change the CPC that was in it to a compatible one.
re SN1 or SN2, according to manuals with my units(smaller print at end of manual), SN1 is the default, and is used for either having only 1 magnet on fan wheel or having 2 magnets of the same polarity facing sensor(all 4 of mine have 2 magnets and use the SN1 default setting), SN2 is also for 2 magnets, but with different polarities(ie 1 is north pole facing sensor and second magnet is south pole facing sensor). To fit a local (heatport voice multi controller) stop/restart temperature controller to one of mine(speaks what its doing when buttons pressed or for faults etc), i had a clearance issue with magnets hitting sensor, (new motor board supplied/needed as well) but found a mention somewhere, that they often can be pressed deeper into their holes, which fixed my problem. i run my other 2 (4th one is a spare) units at 1.5/8hz and 1500/5000rpm "AT SEA LEVEL" with no airflow restrictions, in my back porch(22ml pumps), and have never had a sooting up or smoking issue with them (4 and 5 years old now). One (claimed) 8kw one came with those settings, 2 other claimed 5kw ones came set to 5 or 5.5hz max originally, and last one bought came set to 1.4 / 7hz 1500 / 4500 rpm, so they vary a lot, but all are otherwise identical units in every way(white alloy case versions with chrome end cap). At 8hz setting, they all drink 0.5lts per hour at max output, but usually a bit less, as they throttle back via housing temp sensor unless porch is still very cold(which means no more than 4.5kw's as that's all the available energy in that amount of fuel. Lower settings will be proportionally less output than that (not checked, but guessing only around 3kw's at 5 hz). 8hz output confirmed also by my calcs(4.2kw) of delta t and airflow when i first got them. Just ordered another one today, will be curious what its supplied settings are (i like the price drop over the years, first ones were $355nz, latest just $230 nz delivered I did try one on a 28ml pump for while, but could never get it to run clean throughout output range, so gave up on it. One issue i have had with recent ones, is supplied black ducting is not up to handling maximum heat, and stinks when hot, with paint slowly baking off and losing its colour.
Really handy settings if you've got a smaller van, lower the pulse rate and the rpm and it'll run a little cooler so you don't need to keep turning it on and off again
Pump rate and fan speed settings are for fine tuning elevation air fuel mixture to maximize efficiency and minimize coking, loading up the combustion chamber with excess carbon( unspent fuel)
mine will turn all the way down to 0.8, but when you exit out of settings it only turns down to 1.7 hz as before and no change in pulse rate.... it clicks 102 times a min(drink, drink, drink, drink,) Trying to use less fuel it gets way hot enough. I also have a HCCAL w alpine mode I cant' get on, different controller but it clicks 132 X min(drink, drink, drink, drink,)on all the way low setting
Hey, do you have any idea how to turn off the system completely? I tried holding on the power button but the fan kept blowing out cold air! I just ended up removing the fuze I had in
Hi Tim, I have just looked it up and if you are waiting the 15 mins and it's still not shutting down then it my be that you motherboard is not working properly but try giving it 20 mins to cool down first and go from there.
I have never come across a different code 1688 is the only one i know of. Is it doing all the rest like pairing with your remote ? If not it maybe the CPU.
@@simplyboating4609 no need 2 apologise 😊 your video helped refresh my memory I have mine set at 1.4 Hz to 3.5 Hz 1500 rpm to 3500. The fan runs nice and quiet. Glow plug p5 ..... Just replaced glow plug and Gaskets. Running well fingers crossed.. thanks again for the video.. stay warm
I have read 2 different answers to this setting, pf 1=35watts, 2=40w, 3=45w, 4=80w, 5=85w, 6=90w from the fine print in 3 supplied manuals, but elsewhere it has been said that, each step up equals a longer time running glow plug, before pump starts, never tested if this is true, but i have not seen various other wattage plugs advertised anywhere?
It just how it was set when i got it and I've never had a problem with it so never changed it. Its been working fine for about 3 years, the only thing i do is turn it to max sometimes for about 5 mins to help clean the plug.

Great explanation.

Hi, It should take about 10/15 mins to shut down from the time you turn it of so it can cool down and not damage your CPU.

Need help I've the same one as you but the code won't work any more, I've used this setting before but it's not reading the code now
What is it your trying to do ? You say you have used the code before and it worked fine, has it just started not working ?
How do you work all this out ?
It just takes time.
None of the codes work how would I find the code for my heater to get into settings
I have never come across a different code 1688 is the only one i know of. Is it doing all the rest like pairing with your remote ? If not it maybe the CPU.
i have read some are 9009, not seen any myself though.(also i spotted 888 for some with only 3 digits)
Won't do anything. When pressing the setting 3times. Must have changed it
What are you trying to do ?
You missed out the glow plug setting( P.5) is the factory setting :-)
Sorry if i missed something and thanks for the help understanding how it works.

Also don't see why you would change them if it works ok.
3 things.
8k diesel heaters come set as 5k.
You can change the blower settings as well as the herts.
Also to make you ask questions.
Wow that's set up very bad way too much fule not enough air. It will carbon up quick that's even lower fan speed than most factory settings.
It just how it was set when i got it and I've never had a problem with it so never changed it.

What is the proper setup then?
