I've watched all 3 types and I've come to the conclusion, that 3:15 Chain Flame is absurd... You can basically just be near the right edge of the screen and move up and down with the fire-button held down and you just erase almost anything that pops in. I haven't checked thoroughly, but I can safely say, that all 4 enemies don't even make it all the way onto the screen, let-alone get to even fire their first volley of shots, before they're gone... Even the "close-range" type of weapons, are hardly that powerful. 🤔
nice that someone's shown off the shot types in r type, but i still have to gripe a little. one of the things you kinda missed showing off was the fact that with the gallop force types, changing your speed actually changes the beam slightly

Faster the player ship, the wider the area of effect, and the slower the speed, the more powerful the gallop force laser.
Glad we no longer have to pick up speed boost when we can boost ourselves.
Love the fact they kinda ported most of these stuff with effect & models intact in PSP's command(tactics) games, complete with original sound effects.
Cyclone and Leo is pretty much broken.
Indeed, lots of damage!
They nerfed the Cyclone in Final2 (smaller sprites for the main shots) but they keep the Giga Cannon OP atleast
