Watching skincare, make up or haircut videos relaxes me. As a guy born in 1983, culturally not very inclined to skin care, but after working hard in grueling work environments, these videos calms me down and as a side effect, I'm becoming a skintellectual 😂. Now Im learning my stuff and every now and then give random advice 😂. Also my skin gets thirsty from watching these videos and I'm trying products, I'm glad Cassandra keeps me up to date, informed and discovering new products.
I don't understand why middle class people would put their money in La Mer. One can get an entire year's worth of Sunscreen, CeraVe and Tretinoin with the cost of one tub of La Mer.
Hi Cassandra. I love your channel. Thank you for promoting cruelty-free products. Thank you for breaking down the ingredients in the products. So many companies sell us overpriced junk. I love shopping with a full understanding of what I'm buying. I think you and your channel are amazing.
I LOVE my TheraFace! My husband got it for me for Christmas. The LED is awesome, the massage is great, and I also got the cooling attachment and the heat. The cooling over a sheet mask is lovely, and I use the heat on sore neck muscles or my hands if they hurt. It also does the micro current , but I have a NuFace for that. However, the micro current attachment is good. Their gel for it I don’t like, but the device itself is very good.
Hi Cassandra!!! I love your videos, this one included! You're so informative and entertaining and have helped my skin so much. Just an fyi, on a lot of your reaction videos, I find myself having to turn up the volume when the person your reacting to is speaking and back down when you're speaking. And when I use headphones and the video gets loud again, it has actually hurt my ears before I've been able to turn it down. Idk if anyone else experiences this, it could totally be just me. I just thought I'd let you know, if you even see this. Keep up the great work!
Yes!! Time to balance that audio sister!!!! Your vids are amazing and you’re inspiring me to take care of my skin and stop using the terrible products that have been passed on to me from family❤
When I was at school in the late 70's through to the late 80's, there were no products available for white curly hair, and nobody in my famoly could teach me how to care for my hair as nobody else in my family had curly hair. I hot the most help from one of my black friends mum, first time I had curls rather than a giant frizz ball.
I was born in 1993 but it wasn’t much better in the 90s and 2000s (at least early 2000s). My mom wild brush the hell out of hair to try to “tame” it, which made it a big poofy frizzball. I’ve also learned to wash my hair only every 3 days (less if I get really sweaty though!). I told my mom that and she thinks it’s gross and bad for my hair but like…washing it every day totally strips it, even with gentle sulfate free shampoo.
Do you know Whim How method of bathing in cold water? Of course, people who don't have heart problems can do it safely, only 10 minutes, etc The cold water massages the inner organs and it reduces the fat etc......Some actresses here in Europe said the story of some old lady who came to the hairdresser and ladies asked her how she did it that her skin is so young at such an age. She said she uses to bathe her face in cold water and uses ice as well. So it seems it works also for the face. Maybe it would be good to find research about it.
@@megleland6320 This. My mum hated her curls so she straightened her hair and now uses keratine. Like that you lose the curls and you become dependent of the treatment. Years ago I decided not to straighten my hair anymore. I have curly hair and I need to learn to love it and take care of it to keep it nice. Specially now that I already have grey hairs.
Ohhh this is exactly what I needed! I don't have puffiness or sagging under my eyes but they are a dark reddish purple all the time no matter what I try! This is giving me some new things to try and consider!
I would love to see you explore Unrefined Beauty. Their SPF 50 Sun serum is phenomenal and I want to try their other products. It’s a small lineup at Target, Ulta, and I think Whole Foods now. Problem is, I have to use up all of the Beauty Pie stuff you led me to first! 😂
Hi, @Cassandra! You haven’t yet reviewed the Theragun Theraface Pro?? I was wondering about this since last year. I’ve had my Theraface Pro almost a year. There’s the LED light therapy: red, blue, infrared; microcurrent therapy- 3 levels; and the massage/face tapping function- 3 levels, with 3 different massage attachments. Also comes with conductive gel for the microcurrent. Hope you’ll do a review soon! Thanks much!
I LOVE Dermalogica products sooo much. As a perioral dermatitis gal the claiming line works wonders for me. I wish they made a small amount of makeup. That's the other thing I am.having issues finding for my skin condition.
I used to work in telemarketing (😬I quit because I felt we had to be very dishonest and take advantage of seniors in order to make sales) selling an "all natural" weightloss patch. One of the key sales pitches included the fact it was "all natural". The day I had a man rebutt by saying "ya, that doesn't make it good, snake venom is natural too" I knew I couldn't use that selling point anymore 🤣🤣
My favorite eye cream is the sweet chef turmeric + vitamin C booster eye cream.. $18 & it has turmeric, vitamin C, niacinamide plus so much more, it is soooooo good. I know how you feel about eye creams but I can NOT give this one up 😂😂. plus again it's ONLY $18! Soooo good
OMG. I just ordered WLKKAT products and I'm super excited because the serum has SAFFRON as the 3rd ingredient. Oatmilk and SAFFRON serum. Also affordable 25$ wonderful ingredients in these printable
I haven’t seen anyone using Trinny London products. Maybe they are only popular in the east coast? Because I think they were awarded a prize in the US in 2022. Would be nice to have them reviewed by you Cassandra!
I'm surprised she didn't use the Undefined R&R Sun Serum SPF 50, I use it in place of foundation, it works wonderfully. I first saw the product on James Welsh channel.
Jelly Ko! All of their products are cruelty free but some are not vegan (pearl?) from what I have seen. However, the founder Lauren Lee is from Australia and lives and works in Korea and started her brand like at the beginning of Covid or right before (can’t recall exact timeline) and has slowly grown the line of products to now include 4 amazing and very easily re-purchasable products. Her team and brand are incredible and they are part of 1% for the planet and they also do their part to find easily recycled packaging and is currently innovating their packaging to minimize their footprint. I have loved every product and I never thought I’d be one to say that about any brand because it’s totally normal to dislike at least one thing in a line, but I have yet to find one. Just mentioning because no one talks about it and it totally deserves the love.
I love my avene trixera nutrifluid and that cost like 40 ish dollars for 400ml 😂😂😂😂😂 and it seriously is a multitasking moisturizer cuz i can use it on my face, body, eyelids and undereyes, and LIPS
Hey Cass, your videos are amazeing and I've learned a lot from you. I am from Bulgaria (Europe) and I am 15 year old. I was having a hard time with my acne, but now my skin is almost clear, I am still strugguling with black heads and rearly I have a break outs. Here we don't have many of the products that you recommend and I usually have to find an alternatives. For exaple a few months ago I finally could find products from The Ordinary without paing for shipping from a different country. So probably you could not have the access to my favourite products, unless you order from Europe. My skincare secret are the cream Fusidin, that here you can buy from the pharmacy, some of the products from the brand Balea, which is very affordable, also the acne line from the bulgarian brand "Здраве". I support bulgarian business for floral waters and handmade soaps, which products had a great inpact for my skin. Now I am testing new products, but those which I have recommend are great for acne pron skin. If someone from Europe have a recommendation for products, you can text me. Sorry for my english, but I am still leaving. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Cassandra, thanks for the video! I particularly appreciated your discussion of the term "natural" as used by the cosmetics (and other) industries. I really, really wish the general public understood that "natural" isn't always better. I also want to say, although I have wavy, not curly hair, my straight haired mom had no idea how to deal with it! She made me get a pixie cut as a child. I've learned the hard way how to handle my hair: Use a well formulated conditioner, don't brush it, use a hair pick instead of a comb, and don't use the highest heat settings on my blow dryer and curling iron. Also, I use the Frizz Ease serum and a Frizz Ease mousse, and the Frizz Ease Secret Touch Up Creme when my hair is really frizzy. My hair is also fine, so I need a lightweight mousse. (Disclaimer: I don't get paid or compensated in any way to recommend products, and I don't receive free products to review.)
Thank you for your videos. They‘re getting me peu à peu into skin care. Have you heard of Nø cosmetics? I‘m not a skintellectual yet, so I‘m not sure about it, but their products look interesting.
i LOVE seeing her w her gem stones. v spiritual woman she is. btw cass, she's an actress but also she used to date lil wayne,as well as the late (and great) nipsey hustle.
@@babybee222 she does have more credits but I do think it’s important to note that she recently lost her long time life partner in a tragic way, because it makes the self care she applies when doing things as she mentioned in this video even more relevant to someone who may not know her backstory. Imo❤
Would you be able to make a video on "smaller brands we should support". As I feel I don't know enough when choosing my products. I try, but it's a challenge.
She HAD to use La Mere 😞 I dated a guy in college whose family was well-off. He gifted me with La Mere at Christmas and since I was a transplant to LA, my dry skin was really really dry, so I thought this bougie brand was going to cure it all (it f’n SHOULD at that price as well as clean my home, just sayin). I was SO disappointed that it did NOTHING to help moisturize my skin! I felt so badly that he spent obscene amounts of money due to their marketing and even HE could tell that it did not work as well as what I was using at that time which was hella cheap because..college! When I heard you debunk it I was cheering you on!!!!!!!
"It did nothing" Just because it did not work for you, does not mean we should dedicate entire life criticizing it. Cassandra uses every chance shading La Mer. For example, I love it, my skin never looked better. If something does not work for us, does not mean it is bad.
A skincare recommendation from me is the cruelty-free Polish brand SkinTRA, just know some products are not vegan. I've only tried two products by them but I love them and I will buy more of their products when a skincare slot opens up. I feel like I will use their prebiotic nourishing cream to the day I die. I love how it feels, smells (none of their products has fragrance, perfume or essential oils but most things have a smell) and care for my skin but the biggest reason I'll keep buying it is because I can use it even when my weird mystery eczema around my mouth pops up. I've tried so much for it and basically everything that isn't petrolatum jelly makes it burn but for some reason, this cream won't burn unless my eczema it's so bad I'm bleeding which doesn't happen often luckily. I don't know if it's available in the US yet, they launched in 2020 so they haven't been around for very long but many Europeans will be able to buy them. I live in Sweden and I bought my first products of theirs in 2021 so they found their way here quite quickly. I hope that's true for the rest of the world as well because it's a good brand that wants as many people as possible to be able to use their products which is why there is no fragrance, perfume or essential oils in their products, why they keep their products "simple" and why they state the percentage of their most important/active ingredients on the bottles. I also like that they've partnered with the Las na Forever foundation which plants 0,5 square meters of forest for every product produced. I'm a person that dislikes many tree planting endeavours when a corporation is attached because just planting any old tree does little to no good and can even cause harm to the environment they're planted in. It needs to be plants indigenous to that environment and they should be planted in carefully chosen areas where they both are needed the most and also have the highest possibility to thrive and aid the local ecosystem. As far as I can tell Las na Forever foundation is doing a quite good job but I can't read Polish so I can't access the majority of the information. If anyone knows more than I do, please fill me in. I'm sorry for the essay this comment turned into I just never have a chance to recommend or "talk" about skincare so this kinda just poured out of me...Sorry.
SkinTRA is quite good, but there are so many other great cosmetic brands in Poland, including vegan and cruelty free. Though there's a lot of "natural" marketing going on so I'm not sure Cass would be able to get over that 😅
All throughout my early 20s I used ELF BB cream SPF 30. It wasn't enough but it was better than nothing and I do have to say as a 29 year old I do appreciate my younger self. Before the BB cream it was Aveeno calm and restore SPF 15. Still not so great but something and thankgod lmao.
Cas what’s up with the ingredients in the PSL repair moisturizer you recommend? “Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil” how would skin prone to acne react to those ingredients?
Two indie brands I haven't seen anyone mention that I've had only wonderful experiences and results with are Ruddi Skincare and Averr Aglow, anyone that has, what are your thoughts on them?
Hey @CassandraBankson, could you do a video on micro plastic in skincare and cosmetics? You often promote products that look and work amazing, but that also contain things like acrylate crosspolymers, which, at least in the EU, are considered critical because they don’t biodegrade well and therefore are both a threat to the environment and us as humans since we take it back up into our food chain. Of course the discussion about those ingredients is ongoing, but a lot of experts warn about those. That’s why I’m currently trying to avoid products that contain them. Could you perhaps do a video about this topic? I’d be really interested and I believe it’s a very important topic when it comes to choosing products with respect to our responsibility towards the environment.
Cassandra, I've always heard from Dermatologists & plastic surgeons "NEVER PUT OIL ON YOUR FACE,". (Bc it does feel good on my O.W.L. face LOL) What's your view or advice?
Could you please review Dr. Anil Rajani's moisture cream? There's one for 100.00 and I know how you feel about under eye creams. But want to know if the ingredients list is worth the price?
I have the theraface because i have pretty bad Tmj and it is amazing. It does massage but it is a lot more gentle than the body ones. It’s very relaxing!
Hi Cassandra! Dup for Neocutis Bio Smoothing Overnight Cream? I searched Cassandra Bankson Neocutis with no luck. I wrote this same message yesterday but I do not see it posted. So, sorry if you see this twice…
Love your channel, you r the most sincer channel in RUclips, could you please give an opinion of Le pure cosmetics? Im in love of it, i was a devote of Sisley bit i am really sure, you will love it.
I think looking at the term "natural" as opposed to "chemical" is misleading - as Cassandra says, everything in the world, including water and air, is made up of chemicals! Our skin has a chemical breakdown too. I think when we talk of "natural" products, it should be as opposed to "artificial" or "synthetic" products. For instance, we can mash up a papaya and apply it on our face, and yes, technically the papaya does have "chemicals" in it. What it doesn't have, though (as opposed to say a papaya-based moisturizer) is a bunch of other "artificial" additives. These artificial additives are of course necessary to manufacture a commercially viable product with a good texture, colour, reasonable shelf life, etc (eg. preservatives, stabilizers, fragrance, colouring, etc)...however they have no real skin benefits and can be more irritating than otherwise. Obviously this isn't to say you must never use store-bought products on your skin! But it is a bit like comparing fresh organically grown meat with the processed meat you would find in a burger - both are edible, but the second option is less healthy.
Yep! Though I don't like green washing and think most skincare is made to be safe and there shouldn't be fear mongering such that people blindly jump onto a bandwagon, I've also started hating this oversimplification saying "everything is a chemical". It has started sounding very condescending and "gotcha", when you know people are mostly referring to synthetic chemicals and concentrations produced in labs and so on, with concerns about such mixtures, their safety standards and so on. The idea being, if you put papaya on your face, at least you're reasonably aware of its potential side effects (given people have been eating papaya for centuries) but a lab produced cream you don't know. That's why I like the approach to explain what the synthetic chemicals are, why they're added etc, but don't agree with reductive statements like "did you know water is a chemical" like duh, and if it speaks down to the intended audience who are just trying to do their best witth given information, you're just at risk of alienating them. And for all the concerns over such brands, I see the lines blurring so much between green brands ad commercial brands. Green brands have started adding actives like Vit C to improve their efficacy, commercial brands are adding more and more exotic nut oils and extracts to allude to a more 'natural' alternative. So it's all good, I'd like to think we have brands like The Ordinary precisely because of the efforts of such people to bring transparency which regular brands weren't doing then.
Hi Cass! So the beauty brand that want to highlight is decaar! My esthetician recommended this to me and I have to admit I love their tinted spf 50 and their glow cream!
100 percent food grade diatamaceous earth is good for skin it has like 89 or 90 % silica or something like that good for body we need silica and helps the skin
My client bought the whole line of True Botanicals, and her and I aren’t totally impressed. I’ll be interested to see if she reorders it. PS. People need to start referring to products as naturally derived or synthetically produced. Stop with this “chemicals, and toxins” crap. Lol

My indie beauty brand is Dr. Song skincare. The 10% gylcolic acid face wash was a life save when we were wearing masks every day.
I have a very sensitive, acne-prone skin and the natural products break me out the most.
I'm surprised she didn't use the Undefined R&R Sun Serum SPF 50, I use it in place of foundation, it works wonderfully. I first saw the product on James Welsh channel.
Will you ever review Alpyn beauty? They seem to have good ethics and I really like their lip mask, would love to know what you think of their line.
Please try the theragun face thing!!! I will come back so quick for that

Just because it did not work for you, does not mean we should dedicate entire life criticizing it.
Cassandra uses every chance shading La Mer.
For example, I love it, my skin never looked better.
If something does not work for us, does not mean it is bad.
Hi Cassandra, I would like to know if body lotion is any good for your skin at all, can you do a video?
Hi, I’m Polish so I can help with translation 😊 to be honest - never heard of skinTRA
SkinTRA is quite good, but there are so many other great cosmetic brands in Poland, including vegan and cruelty free. Though there's a lot of "natural" marketing going on so I'm not sure Cass would be able to get over that 😅
Please do one on Alpyn beauty. I wanna love their products but I'm clueless hahaha
Anyone else immediately looks at Cass any time the La Mer jar pops up? 😂
Have you reacted to the elf skincare line? It is vegan, cruelty-free, and affordable, but I don't know if the products actually do the work.
11:14 THIS is exactly the device I want for XMas 🎄 🎁 🤣
I need to kniw your opinion on image skincare no one talks about them much
Cassandra Ive been requesting and tagging you about the theraface in your past videos
Cas what’s up with the ingredients in the PSL repair moisturizer you recommend? “Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil” how would skin prone to acne react to those ingredients?
Could you review Sunday Riley, please?
Please do review the Theraface!!
Did someone ever tell you that you give Lorelai Gilmore vibes? Hahahaha just love it
Could you please review Dr.
Yes this is why I got it as well!!
i would love your thoughts on il makiage skincare ? i have rosacea and sensitive skin and worried about my aging skin

Funny thing, when I am too tired to care I even forget to wash off my sunscreen and often my face is acne free the next day 😂😂😂
I hated the Agency moisturizer. It pilled like crazy. Also, they are expensive. I do like the dark spot formula but they are just too expensive
I'm from Poland and we have lots of great family brands like Basiclab, KOI or Senelle
I'm not gonna lie, you look like a heiress or a daughter of a kind and beautiful greek noblewoman lol
When she moves her hand across her face at 16:25 I see a filter flicker which is disappointing
KINDRED BLACK PLS
What about this new trending microbleeding needle free devices? Is this legit ?
100 percent food grade diatamaceous earth is good for skin it has like 89 or 90 % silica or something like that good for body we need silica and helps the skin
My triplet sons, who are 11, are learning to care for their skin... Proud of meself as a mom and educator. Turrrrrnin n learrrrrnin girrrrl
My client bought the whole line of True Botanicals, and her and I aren’t totally impressed. I’ll be interested to see if she reorders it.
PS. People need to start referring to products as naturally derived or synthetically produced. Stop with this “chemicals, and toxins” crap. Lol
