Cause truth from players perspective doesnt need to discuss On tv) They need stats to talk about and LeBron that trying to break All stats in nba except chips))
@@Nick-qq7lk he’s only breaking pts and fts made and attempted. Lebron is never coming close to breaking the assists, rebs, steals, blocks, games played record but he’s #1 with turnovers.
Its funny how actual NBA players who have been fortunate to play against MJ, Kobe, Lebron in 3 different eras the majority of the time say that MJ and Kobe were tougher, better, more resilient, etc etc but we are supposed to take Nick Wrights word for it because he can read things off a stat sheet...LOL. Hilarious.
It’s even funnier that the vast majority of players from any era, including todays, regard Jordan as the GOAT, and all the advanced metrics and analytics that Nick loves say Jordan is the GOAT, and all the stat averages say Jordan is the GOAT, and the number of accolades say Jordan is the GOAT… LeBron only wins in the longevity criteria, but guess what… He’s only played 82 games once in his career compared to Jordan’s 9 times, and he hasn’t played D for half of his career, so I’d say Mike was more durable as well. MJ is the Goat and it’s not even close!
Jackson is talking with emotions. He says Jordan and Kobe never let you off of the hook and that’s a ridiculous statement that means absolutely nothing.
He's not lying. Everything we say is opinionated. But Jordan and Kobe from what I've seen is better to me than Lebron. I never understood how Kobe got bypassed by the media but Jimmy broke it down perfectly. It's a likeable thing 🤦🏽
After his case, Kobe’s Mamba personality brought an edge to him. He flat out called the media analysts out. & then the Gasol trade happened and 3 straight final trips happened… they had no choice but to do em like this.
They forget that it isn’t about stats. They said Kareem was the GOAT after Wilt. Kareem’s stat’s couldn’t touch Wilt’s. Then MJ became the GOAT and he didn’t pass Kareem’s stats. It was self explanatory that if he played in ‘94, ‘95 and ‘99 he would have passed Kareem’s scoring record. Then Kobe was considered the greatest Laker but he never passed Kareem. Now because Lebron is going to pass Kareem he is the GOAT? How do I pass someone who isn’t a champ and become a champ? I don’t see that a lot. But playing in the easiest era to score and doing well in year 19 somehow makes u better, EVEN WHEN U MISS THE PLAYOFFS! 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Jordan is the goat by far but Lebron is better than Kobe was. Look at the stats , Lebron is a better overall player than Kobe. Jerry West said the same thing.
Because of narratives for ratings.. They always wanted lebron to be the best player in the league and the goat and that's why before he even touched the court he was deemed "the chosen one". Lol that tells u everything.. Notice when they talk about lebron they say lebron in year 18 instead of lebron at age 36? That's because at age 35 Jordan was winning a chip!
@@taheemtownsend1003 what too 75 player did he win the last two with? Better yet who’s going to the Hof from those team? You clearly didn’t watch the Lakers
I love it how Nick says.."the other guy" when he talks about Kobe. The dislike from Nick toward Kobe is soooooo obvious. Did Kobe not sign an autograph for Nick?
It's because Kobe went up against 4 Hall of Famers in the 2010 Finals with 1.5 All-Stars as help, and beat them. LeBron, the very next year, goes against 33yr old Dirk, 38yr old Jason Kidd, and 34yr old Jason Terry, with All Stars Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh... and lost. With one game scoring only 8pts. That's why he hates on Kobe.
Hell you think that was bad he couldn't even say Michael Jordan's name oh boy Nick said begrudgingly his name priceless he's just so upset that he wants everyone to be on his bandwagon 😂
To be fair as of today (8/18/22) lebron has played 20 more games than Kobe. Lebron has over 3000 more points, over 3000 more assists, over 3000 more blocks, 17+ more steals and 400 more blocks. I’m just 20 more games, Kobe is basically Derek Jeter of basketball, great players but compared to actual greats his numbers look kinda blah
That’s a fact, and it showed this year, the way teams just went after the Lakers like it was a field day, I’ve never seen teams try to go after the Lakers like that when Kobe was still playing, teams looked at the Lakers as a easy win, even when it was Kobe and a bunch of nobodies, teams still knew they was gunna have to work hard for that win.
This is where I personally agree with Jimmy Jackson. Writers/reporters will never see or EXPERIENCE what the players experience. Two totally different views on players.
True that, it's frustrating to see that not just in sports? But life in general.we see someone do something from an outward perspective and all of a sudden were expert's or we think it's easy. It's annoying to see guy's who have been on the outside try and discredit someone who actually played against the greats.that would be like a tennis player trying tell someone who plants gardens how to plant a flower
Exactly! Writers and analysts have no idea what it's like actually playing with and against pro competition, forget about the best of the best. How it is in actual game time. How players have to read and perform plays. In those moments when the separation becomes obvious between top level players and the best players. Who gives in just a little under pressure and who actually digs deep down and grinds to elevate to another level. MJ and Kobe separated themselves in crunch time from the rest. LeBron reminds me of a high school athlete I knew. He was a freak athlete in high school. He could hit the baseball out of the park across the street into the parking lot. He could easily slam dunk the basketball in games at 6'2". He was a top conference running back in football. He dominated all three sports, and went on to be picked up by the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team. However once he saw that other players were just as talented as him if not more. He stopped trying to be the best. He quickly got cut from the team due to personal reasons back home. LeBron is a freak athlete, but...he dominates when it is obviously clear that he is the best on the court. However when he runs up against another athlete who is just as talented if not more, and has much more drive in him. That's when LeBron tends to shrink back. We've seen this in his career more than once. That's one of the main reasons why I have never liked LeBron. Thus part of the reason why he jumps from team to team to chase rings. Kobe gave a subtle diss to LeBron James in his last game speech. He said..."we didn't run when times got tough, we stuck it out and over came those tough times." Mamba out! All the greatest players didn't ring chase and bounce from team to team, like LeBron did. I can never respect a self proclaimed GOAT that chased rings by jumping from team to team.

Nick can scream Kobe blew a 3-1 lead all he wants. Kobe averaged 35 a night, there are only two other players to do that in league history and their names are Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlin, yet somehow he didn't win MVP. Nash had 18 and 10 pedestrian numbers, Chris Paul averages that on a down year and yet somehow was a back to back MVP. Furthermore, that Suns team had Nash Stoudemire Hill Marion Bell and a ton of other elite role players. By comparison, Kobe had Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm Luke Walton as STARTERS, these players would not start in the D League let alone an NBA team. The fact that team even made the playoffs at all is still the biggest mystery to me and Kobe will never get the credit he deserves for carrying one of the worst NBA playoff teams ever assembled as far as he did.

@@amac9044 heres the thing with kobe, and this is my stance as to *why* he is one of the best to ever do it. If they give you that same list and kobe IS on it, then you will think "ok cool, I accept that." And listen to the why(unless you are a fan girl like Nick Wright). Here's my why: just names out of a hat, here is a common top 5: Jordan, Lebron, Magic, Kareem, Wilt. Ok, what is something they all share in common? HIGH draft picks, instant starters. These men came into the league DESTINED for god status. Now, Kobe was taken, 8th i believe by charlotte, I'd have to check, but I think its 8th, if it isnt I'll come back and edit it, but Kobe was the backup to a backup. Del Harris refused to play him. Kobe and DFish backing up eddie jones and nick van exel at the start of his career. And Kobe, who WAS a better basketball player than Shaq, played 2nd option for the 3 peat, but if you go back and look at the numbers, kobe was leading the team after that first year. Its just Shaq was SUCH a mismatch, its easy buckets going against fucking Rik SMits and Todd McCoullagh. But looking at how Kobe was basically handicapped by being a 6th man for 3 years, and that he literally willed himself to be the #3 all time scorer, that is some next level shit. His career avg is liek 25 ppg, think about that. first 3 years as a non starter but appearing in 82 games that hit his averages, and yet he still ends his career at 25 ppg, considering the fact that his first 2 years was a non starter and had 7 and 15 ppg, the fact that he went on such a tear to end his career the way he did, qualifies him for the conversation
Let me ask you this, where do you have Kobe ranked on you’re list of all time greats? Because if you have him anywhere outside the top 3 then you can’t really say Nick is wrong about it being laughable that Kobe should be in the GOAT argument. Laughable was a disrespectful way to put it by Nick but Kobe is anywhere from 5-10 on MOST peoples list and that includes former players and former all time great players so Nick isn’t exactly wrong because Kobe isn’t the discussion for being THE GOAT

Nick cracks me up, they can’t get out of the first round without a good team lol 😂, Lebron couldnt win anything without wade and bosh, kobe couldnt win without gasol and shaq, jordan couldnt win without pippen. The difference is, jordan and Kobe would go 1 on 5 when they were out matched and single handily take on an entire team by themselves and drop 40-60 pts on them. Lebron has to use his teammates whether they are good or bad and if they’re bad he can’t win. He doesn’t have it in him to be the offensive guy to go 1-5. That’s what the difference is and that’s what Jim Jackson is trying to say here. When you play kobe or jordan your always worried, no matter the talent on your team because they’re just going to keep coming after you and not let up for all 4 quarters where Lebron if you pressure him enough he will be more passive and try to get another guy to hit the big plays for him.
"if theyre bad he cant win" What did lebron do in 07, 17-18 then? you cant tell me that 07 team was any good without lebron. Put jordan against the 17-18 warriors or the 07/14 spurs in three of his 6 finals appearances and he goes 3-3

That’s funny Nick Wright said the team with the best player missed the playoffs Kobe Bryant but he tend to forget the team with the best player in the world LeBron missed play in figure that out lol
The thing that irks me about Nick Wright is that he doesn’t use CONTEXT. He is so quick to dismiss LeBron’s failures from the first eight years in his career (like when he went 0-2 in the Finals on below 40% shooting in one of them, or when in 2009, Cavs with 66 wins were the favorites to win yet they lost to the Magic or in 2010 when LeBron played terribly in a close-out game causing his team to not go to the Finals, etc) but gives Kobe a hard time for not making it out of the first round in the next three years. First of all, his team was straight trash. Absolute garbage. Y’all think LeBron had a trash team for the Finals this year when he had an All-Star, one of the greatest shooters of all time and other good players. The talent was there. Cannot say the same for the 05-07 Lakers. After Kobe, Lamar was probably the most talented and he hadn’t reached his full potential as a player yet (and is generally much more efficient coming off of the bench). Anyways, his team was trash, he was playing in a much tougher conference than the LeBron’s cakewalk of an Eastern Conference and in 2006 specifically, was up against a 60+ win team (a rare thing for LeBron to see in the playoffs). Yes, he was up 3-1 (a freaking miracle) and yes he ended up only shooting three shots in the second half of Game 7. But Lakers were never the favorites to win and Kobe was trying to get his teammates involved. It failed. We all know that. But to use that to say it’s laughable for Kobe to mentioned with these dudes is stupid and uninformed. But, it’s Nick Wright so what else is new?

It’s even funnier that the vast majority of players from any era, including todays, regard Jordan as the GOAT, and all the advanced metrics and analytics that Nick loves say Jordan is the GOAT, and all the stat averages say Jordan is the GOAT, and the number of accolades say Jordan is the GOAT… LeBron only wins in the longevity criteria, but guess what… He’s only played 82 games once in his career compared to Jordan’s 9 times, and he hasn’t played D for half of his career, so I’d say Mike was more durable as well.

I’m just 20 more games, Kobe is basically Derek Jeter of basketball, great players but compared to actual greats his numbers look kinda blah
What Jimmy is saying is that any or most NBA player would rather play against Lebron than play against scary Jordan or scary Kobe.

@@jacobkirkner645 How did that 07 team even GET to the Finals if Lebron didn't have some help? Lebron wasn't that good in his 4th season to play all 5 positions. He didn't average 35+ pts like MJ did in 87-88, to get to the Finals in 07, so clearly he had help.
The Spurs were never unbeatable like the Warriors with KD. I don't see the 2nd 3peat Bulls beating GS with KD, but they could beat the Spurs.
Lol this is stupid. There's way more to basketball than Scoring. Jordan and Lebron weren't even efficient scorers.

Oh my god. Just watch the two. One is strong, big, fast and great. The other is just spectacular, amazing, artistic on both ends of the floor. Simply the best.
Kobe's team was trash, they were rebuilding in a conference that was tougher than any that Lebron has ever played in his entire career...This narrative Nick drives that you can't be the best player in the league if your team gets beat in the first round is ridiculous..This is a player who has 7 Finals appearances with 5 Championships won in 2 different eras and countless accolades but Nick Wright would have you thinking he's a glorified role player...I'm a die hard Kobe fan and Nick's part of the reason why a lot of people have a hard time just enjoying the Greatness of Lebron...He's exactly who Jim was talking about, someone who dismisses everything about Kobe because he didn't like him as a person obviously and pushes the narrative that everything Lebron does is greater than everyone else with numbers that lack context and a lot of times are false
Countless accolades? Not to be that guy but he has 1 mvp

Pook B were u talking about like all nba teams and all defense teams?
M Pheonix 05,06,07...No Shaq, No Gasol, Bynum was just developing
M Pheonix definitely agree about the last part but for someone who has watch the NBA religiously for the last 30 years one Conference being stronger than the other is not a myth...During Kobe’s career it was a considerable difference between his competition than lbj..having to play in Conference that had 8 50 win teams at one point compared to 2 plays huge come playoff time, for example James Harden Beat the Durant Warriors more times than LBJ in the playoffs but Harden will get no recognition for it but LBJ will forever be praised and excused by the likes of Nick Wright because he got to play them in the Finals but he beat who to get there? In 2018 LBJ didn’t play not 1 top 20 player to get to the Finals.. I have eyes, the media don’t move me
Jordan not even in conversation of “letting players off the hook”
That’s a whole fact….. he wouldn’t even let anybody off the hook at his hall of fame speech. He wouldn’t even let the United center employees off the hook gambling in the locker room in the last dance. This guy was a basketcase.

“Forget about the numbers” 💯
LeBron is a numbers guy, not that he tries to be, but with his skill set and style of play, he's going to always fill up the Stat sheet, but when it comes to Kobe, and Jordan, they wanted to beat you with their offensive arsenal, they could have facilitated more but that was not their game or way of attacking, and Kareem just had a unstoppable shot that put him in the record books, I mean, imagine a guy who is already 7 feet with a long wing span, that has a shot that is basically unblockable, because it goes up and away from his body and he's perfected the shot so that he hardly ever misses it
You can’t win a playoff series against a great team by yourself, no matter how good you are as an individual player. And commentators always say that the best team will win a seven game series every time. So, there was no difference back then, even with the Lakers being up three to one

Jim is so right on this video. Lebron is great at putting up stats, but that doesn’t mean he is the greatest player and it doesn’t always win championships. I have watched them all play and Jim is right Lebron will always let you off the hook, those other 4 players will not. I would also rather have Kobe on my team instead of Lebron.
Bird. Don't forget Bird.

It's amazing how actual players can give such a comprehensive explanation on how they judged their opponents, particularly the ones considered as the greatest, and emphatically say how they rate them HAVING PLAYED AGAINST THEM but these statistical analysts try to drive their own narrative down your throat based on "numbers"
Jimmy wasn’t an elite defender. And Kobe never had a season shooting better than 45% from the field. He was a high volume inefficient scorer.
Jim didn’t give a comprehensive explanation. He just regurgitated “I played against these guys.” You see the outrageous stuff players say nowadays? Nobody is more qualified than the next guy to talk about basketball. It’s either you know what you’re talking about or you don’t (and that’s proven very quickly). Some of the best in their fields are horrible at teaching, relaying, and passing on information. That doesn’t mean they weren’t great at what they did.
In 2006 Lebron was up 3-2 not 3-1
mac'n1980 I am talking about Kobe, not LeBron.
