%100, and she needs one a lot lol. And since most of my nicest knives were presents from her she'd say "and why the hell not" if I said I didn't have one which has only happened like once when I had basketball shorts on. So now even when I'm wearing workout clothes I've got a knife on me.
Yup, even brandishing a knife, in legitimate self defense, better have your legal game on point, because now you're the crazy guy with a knife when they call the cops. If you're in a legitimate fight for your life, absolutely, fight to win, but you're now in a deadly force encounter and one minor misstep legally with a DA who has a wild hair for another conviction, well, the modern court room is someplace I'd like to avoid at all cost. If that means running away rather than "being tough", i'm gonna beat feet if at all possible.
I started to carry a good knife after watching the movie 127 hours. So now I have a way to make myself less alive if someone forces me to watch that movie again.
I have roughly 130 knives whose main use is opening boxes with new knives. But today I needed to open the plastic blister packaging for batteries, spyderco chaparral to the rescue.
Uggh, I now own 6 grand worth of knives for just exactly that. Boxes and mail. Not sure why, just like them. Just bought a Koenig Arius which I DID NOT need. But am soooooo happy to have it. Make any sense???🤣
I always tell people that you never realize how handy a pocket knife is until you start carrying one. I’ve carried one since age 9, starting with SAKs and eventually realized that the blade covered most of my needs. I also ride a motorcycle so I always have a backpack where I keep tools I might need, including a beater knife or two. I use the knife for all kinds of stuff.. packages/boxes, a handful of work tasks, food, whatever needs a cut.. As for nice knives.. I carry one every day and I just like having a nice high quality object to handle and fiddle with. I don’t really consider myself a collector and buy them to use, so considering that I usually edc any particular knife for years before I upgrade, a could hundred bucks isn’t all that much overall.. for example, the crk in my pocket cost half of what my annual insurance payment, and I use/enjoy it much more than my insurance policy.
I use my knife for minor field surgery, LOL-splinters, torn skin, etc. I also use them as a manicure tool. I don't trim my nails with them, but I do scrape away the "burr" left by nail trimmers and clean/trim my cuticles with my pocket knife.
The thing that people who don't understand why we carry knives fail to realize, is that their stance is the odd one throughout the entirety of human history until only the past couple of generations. That the edged tool, aside perhaps from the harnessing of fire, was one of the most revolutionary breakthroughs of all mankind, likely to the degree that it shaped our evolution as a species. This leads to the logical conclusion (and answer to those who don't understand carrying knives or see it as uncivilized), that without knives there would be no civilization in which to be uncivilized in the first place. In order to protect our knife rights for the future, we need to hold the stance, and point it out to others that don't understand, that the edged tool is essential, and that the idea of not carrying a knife is the ridiculous one.
What I dont get is why people have more than 2 knives? Like I have multitool and foldable pocket but there is like 100 different blade shapes for foldables and I they are "tactical" "hunting" "survival" and they just look a bit different but its still a blade and hande that folds. what the point? (except just collecting)
When I was in the U.S. Navy I remember seeing boatswain mates occasionally using folding Buck knives to scrape and chip haze grey paint. They had designated scrapers, but sometimes they got caught short and they all carried folding knives. I didn’t need a knife because I was a radarman and all we did was track Russian aircraft and UAPs.

The knife is one of the first tools man ever invented. There’s a reason for that. It’s one of the most useful items you can carry and I use mine every day.
I carry a knife daily because I own a landscaping business and use a knife 15+ times a day for various tasks. I love being able to really put the new supersteels to the test and see how they perform. I’m a knife enthusiast and collector but most of all I’m a knife user.
8:56 I've used the tip of my tanto zaan a ton of times when working on my car. 9 times out of 10, electrical wire connectors have some really stiff clip that's also stuck from years of not being undone. Flathead is too thick lots of times. CRK's tanto wedge works just fine.
I am carrying a 940-2, which I love. It is so versatile and tough; I use it for so many things from opening letters and packages to cutting rope and irrigation hoses and doing a quick prune of small branches as I notice them on my hemlocks. I enjoy actually using it, so I don’t abuse it but I don’t mind if it gets heavy use. I recently became aware of the Hogue Sig Sauer K320, which I think will be my next.
nice video! last year, 3rd time was riding my new bicycle, right shoelace got stuck in the pedal ax and tightened with every stroke. luckly i carry a Victorinox SwissTool Spirit Plus and i cut the shuelace. after that i started carry a standalone folding knife, a fully serrated Spyderco Tenacious Lightweight. im into multitools since i cut pretty bad my thumb opening a plastic package.
I'm personally not the biggest Benchmade fan after a few bad experiences with my infidel, bugout. BUT my natural g10 m4 940 is just perfect and a all around well thought out edc design in my opinion. Only benchmades I've kept is the 940, crooked river and the hidden canyon(fixed blade) .
When I hear the incredulity in the voice of a person who askes me why I carry a knife, I ask them with the same incredulity why don't they carry a knife?
I've always carried a pocket knife since I've had one when I was little. Granted I never had a 2" or smaller blade for school, so I had to go without, but everyday since I've had one on me. Feel naked without one on me, no matter the size. You never know when you're going to need it!

Thanks MC for ur channel! I am a regular person too, so to speak. I now carry an EDC folding knife all time. Before I retired I couldn't bc I travelled and TSA restrictions. I rarely checked any bags. Folders are the handiest, most versatile tools and can also provide personal protection in a pinch. But my biggest reason is simply bc folding knives are so damn cool. I normally keep a beater I don't mind tearing up for screwing screws and prying shit in a pickle. And will have my Protech Malibu, Hinderer Jurassic, etc... as my main prideful modern marvel to covet, protect and fidget with. I love my Knife Krack and will be back therapy tomorrow. Keep em coming MC!
Construction Manager here. Depending on phase of project always carry some combination of gentleman folder, beater, leatherman, flashlight. Will often get something done myself rather than calling and waiting for someone else, especially during inspections. Also, nobody ever hesitates asking me for a tool when they need something either.
My thoughts on the self defense angle: no judgement, just hoping to share my experience and see if it resonates with y'all. I used to work as a Domestic Violence Survivor's advocate in Franklin County Kansas (That's Ottawa KS, one county South of KU), and people asked me a *LOT* why I didn't carry a gun. In my experience, when a violent man sees you talking to his ex girlfriend at the county courthouse and assumes you're her new boyfriend, your goal is to de-escalate the situation. Like yeah, run if you have to, but if it gets to the point where the best option is to run? You've already failed to de-escalate. You know what escalates the hell out of a situation? The pissed off guy you're talking to realizing you're strapped, or you pulling a knife. I actually switch out my carry to a Spyderco Chaparal (or nothing at all) if I know I'm heading into a situation where conflict is likely, so that my stupid man brain raised on action movies doesn't convince me that stabbing a guy is a good life decision. Or, to be more realistic, pulling a knife, getting punched in the face, and then getting stabbed with my own knife.
I do shipping and receiving in a warehouse and pipe yard loading, unloading freight and pipe trucks and I use my R2D2 for opening crates, cutting nylon banding, zip ties, slicing 7' wide cardboard slabs and foam wrapping to for packaging powder coated fence and gate panels, opening freight, cutting tape, and the occasional trailer straps etc etc. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I've been carrying an collecting knives since I was around 13 years old I'm 34 now and own 22 different folders and 6 fixed blades for hunting fishing etc. A standard box cutter can do all these things but eventually you'll have to find and then beg your superintendent for a fresh blade, or you drop the thing from pocket height and it detonates into 40 damned pieces when it hits the floor. With my R2D2 on the other hand I can sharpen it during my breaks if I find its getting dull ,its survived multiple drops from heights of about 30 feet up sometimes, as well as open and close it with my work gloves on or off far quicker and all those seconds add up when I got dead lines to meet also its never opened in my pocket and cut me or fell out of my pocket and got lost during the 50th time I had to get in and out my forklift that day lol. My point here is that an in-disposable beats a disposable tool any day of the week. Great vid btw, not that I personally need the justifications but its good to have the extra ammo the next time I'll eventually have to have this conversation with a co worker lol
I’ve carried a knife everyday since I was 16 and going to college (running start) and it’s become so second nature, I’ve actually had moments where I didn’t notice the weight and started panicking a little because I thought I had lost my knife
I tend to cut zip ties and a few times made some rough spots in s30v, my Mk1 Ritter Houge 20cv and my WE in s35vn when it was brand new But all have been easy to fix
Black Victorinox Explorer sits in my right front pocket always, with my Shaman in Cruwear with CF scales in the right back pocket. Also my Benchmade 940-2 in the left pocket... yes, I have a knife problem 🤷🏻♂️
I carry a Mercator K55K, old simple historical knife that’s full of utility. Love knife videos but this just feels good compared to any other knife I owned before.
I seriously started carrying a swiss army deluxe tinker in the late 90’s as a teenager after discovering macgyver reruns on USA network. I still have that exact knife in my pocket right now that I bought way back then. There’s so many times it’s been handy I can’t even count them all. In around 2013 or so I was introduced by a guy to the benchmade mini griptillian I carried that daily as my primary with the Swiss army as a secondary for several years and now I have several I generally carry a shamwari for work daily I’m an electrician and it comes in handy so many times. The uses for any pocket knife are numerous I can’t imagine going a day without one.
All week, in my professional and private lives, when I,ve seen anyone opening a box by peeling the tape off, I go “tsk, you coulda used a knife there. Missed opportunity.”
"That's a big, goofy, stupid object to carry on your person!" I have decided to never take another step with a pair of scissors in my hand. Goofy and stupid arent my cup of tea.
Here is a real story: I went on a date with the girl i liked for some time. We were walking down the road and this poor old woman was selling roses there in a small stall as couples walk by that place a lot here. She claimed that all these roses were grown by her in her own garden. My date, she said "oh wow" (not in english, we are from India). I picked for her the biggest one. We walked some distance and I noticed that the rose stem wasn't cleaned properly, it still had some thorns. I pointed it out she said she'll be careful with it. I asked for the rose, took out my pocket knife and cleaned the thorns. She was like "why do you have a knife in your pocket" I replied with a cheesy line "so that i can care for the people I like better" She blushed and looked visibly impressed... We would go on 3 more dates after that and use this knife many times. We are together now. Yes... I sure did feel like a champ every time.
Friends don't let friends open packages with scissors. Also, I can't tell you how many times I've gotten takeout food that they forgot to include utensils. Every single time I with someone who doesn't carry a knife, they're blown away that I had one and grateful that at least we could cut our food. Also, EDC forks need to become a thing. Yeah, I know I could carry a hobo knife or something similar, but honestly, hobo knives are usually kind of bulky. I'd love something very small, that folds out to a fork. Throw a cap lifter on it and the EDC crowd would go nuts.
That's actually a great idea, especially when you go to a restaurant and they didn't give you a fork. Or when the utensils are loose in a gross container. Only thing that has come close to what you're describing is that garbage Boker Bali-Fork
Get the MKM Swiss Army knife equivalent. Micarta scales, M390 blade, 420HC tools including a 3 prong fork. I think it is called the Malga 6 or something like that.
@@jeremyc3977 There are some options out there, but I have yet to find one that's exactly what I'd like. I've bought a few "sporks" for backpacking, and they're ok, but not amazing. There has to be a way to make one about the size of a zippo or mini pry bar that actually works well. I'll keep searching.
@@doctoruttley I've looked at the Malga a few times. It's an interesting one. The fork looks super small, so I question how useful it really is. Don't get me wrong, it's likely better than nothing, so it's still on my radar. I'd love to have something roughly the size of a zippo that fits in the fifth pocket and folds out to a full-size fork. The Kershaw Ration is kind of like what I'm thinking, but imagine it folded up and was much better quality. I think that would be a winner.
I had to do that the other day, I wiped one of the electric stove plates with a synthetic towel, and it melted it and stuck on the stove, had to bust out my Endura and scrape that crap off. It smelled terrible.
Hell yeah, been in so many situations. I was even planting a bush and some burlap kept falling in the way where i was trying to carve some final dirt out so i just pinned it with my knife
I’ll be honest. I try to carry knives with me in and off and the only reason I’ve ever needed one for for years is opening packages or using the screwdriver / bottle opener in my Swiss army. Scissors are still better for plastic packaging imo. I know others have legit uses but as a dad who works from home the main reason is that knives are just kinda cool lol.
I carry the Leatherman wave plus it has served me very well I love always having a tool set on me it may be a bit chunky compared to pocket knife but I think the usefulness makes it worth it
I have to explain to people all the time that I don't carry a knife as a weapon 😂 I mean yeah it works for that but only if I'm the attacker in the situation or someone is threatening me without a weapon of their own. In any other case im just gonna try to get away
This is the exact reason I just watched this video, it's a tool. A TOOL. Getting a bit annoying having to explain myself for carrying knives too often now.
I use mine fore everything. I even trim the bushes and weeds while letting my dog do her thing every time we go outside. Usually i just carry a folding utility blade because I’m a roofer. Roofers use utility knives all day every day.
Don't get me wrong, I love and use my knives, but it sounds like you would benefit greatly from a Leatherman Micra. It's tiny, you can put it in your 5th pocket and forget about it. It handles so many of the the things on your list, especially zip ties, much better than a knife and can do even more. And it's a tiny backup blade. If you carried one for a week or two I just about guarantee you'd see that it'd make your life much easier.
I've tried carrying various Leathermans/multi tools. I just don't like them in my pocket or hanging off me in a pouch. I keep a wave+ in my truck. I like it there. I prefer a single blade folding knife in my pocket 👍
I been carrying some kind of bladed object since I was a kid. My dad and grandfather always had a knife so I thought that was the norm. I believe a man should always have a watch and a knife.
I dont believe in tactical use. A knife will only bring you jail time. Heavy use is really not an EDC catagory. The uses you outline could all be done with a Chaparral or a traditional folder. A big automatic jobby or a heavy Hinderer type knife are for knife fans. I have 15 folding knives and there is no objective reason why.
The uses I outlined could be done with much less than the Chaparral. Heavy use is definitely part of some people's daily life, and therefore creates a specific need when it comes to their "edc". Most of us just carry what we like.
I really have a hard time wanting to grab my more expensive pocket knives as an edc. Granted my most expensive is the para 3 which is weirdly right next to my main carry, the Rat 2 in D2, on the video. That also is a $40 knife, but I just love the stone washed look on the newer s45vn steel which is most certainly a superior steel. I should force myself to get out if that comfort zone and see if I’m just putting restrictions on myself for no reason.
@Kova15 When I was a kid my mom would collect China and never use the “fancy plates” unless guests came over. Problem was when guest did come over she never pulled them out. Unless you’re a collector that plans to resell your knives, I would use ‘em. Premium steels are meant to be used and yes even beat on, that’s why they’re premium in the first place. You only live once man, enjoy them!
"enjoy" is subjective. If you get joy from not using them, then dont use them. Do whatever you want to do with your knives. They're yours. No one else paid for them.
@@metal_complex Yeah good point MC. I guess my thought was he might enjoy them more if he used them but I have nothing against folks holding off using them if they feel they are just too nice, I’m guilty of it myself, I have one or two I will probably never use! Keep the great videos coming!
Boxes, letters, food, gardening and cleaning my fingernails are usually my primary uses for a pocket knife. But, I'm definitely not afraid to go get a better tool when the job requires it (like a chisel or screwdriver, or dremel). Totally ok with light prying.
Great video! Like you said, these are really good reasons for a "normal" person. I am a hiker so I love having a blade for outdoor tasks and survival skills. However, I am starting to find more and more reasons/uses for EDC carry. If I'm being honest, I also just really like knives, I think they are cool and they're fun to carry and show off ;)... I'd probably suggest not expecting to use your knife in a self-defense situation unless you know what you are doing though.
I can't remember a time that I have left my house without a knife on me. Grew up on a small family farm. It was an all purpose tool. Use mine all the time at work (industrial maintenance). It is one of mankind's first tools. All of mine get used hard and carried often.
Check out the Leatherman Styles Scissors, small compacts and solid.I have one on my keychain and another by my pc. I use them all the time cause i dont need big scissor for the small cuts i do.
I never expected you to say anything about reaching for things in a car. There was one time when I dropped a card between two seats and I couldn't reach it with my hand, or my normal knife, but I happened to have a 5in blade knife with me and that was just barely able to reach it. Knives are really useful
You can explain why a knife is better than scissors to some people all day long and they will never believe you. Zip ties, yep I've used my knife when I can't salvage the zip tie. Yes I reuse them.
I bought a new knife that I wanna start carrying I could see why be a good idea to have one on ya could be kayaking and see a turtle wrap in fishing line or something
Was wondering if you’d bring up the self defense. There’s an extremely low chance you’d ever have to use it, and if there’s a shady situation the best move is always to get away from it. But there is an added level of comfort knowing that you have something there in case some really crazy situation ever came up
In my line of work, I can't get through the day without a multitool. Doing things like cutting and stripping wire, tightening screws and very light prying with the screwdrivers. My colleagues never carry anything and strip wire with their teeth! When they need a screwdriver they try to use a car key. Just never understood how they can go through life without at least a multitool on them. When not at work in the field I carry a SAK in the office. When not at work I have a one hand opening folder on me for whatever random cutting duties are called upon it. Knives are just useful
I like how you danced around the self defense part lol. Only other reason I'd add is something to fidget with when your board!!! Very stupid but I do that alot 🤷♂️. Also, I work at an autoparts store and sometimes a set of break pads in a box is just a bit too far for me to reach and I dont wanna go hunting for a ladder that I dont wanna use anyway because I have bad knees so I take my knife out, and use the tip to get the box off the shelf........probably not the smartest way but I haven't cut myself yet🤣
My wife (a ER nurse)started carrying at work after I got her a custom mini griptilian. That and a flashlight I am a huge huge advocate of. Now at her work Co workers especially doctors are always asking for her flashlight or knife!

How? Lol I do to but usually something like a umnumzaan, shaman, manix 2 or scarab/ultratech and somthing small like a qsp penguin, rat2 with them for that reason . I only have a Benchmade hidden canyon(which I really like it and i carry with the others mentioned in place of the rat2/penguin) and a crkt minimalist bowie. the sheath cracked. I can get it insanely sharp very fast but edge retention is almost laughable, not sure what steel but definitely not good. I had a super nice giant mouse gmf1 but lost it. Any recommendations on a good small fixed blade that won't break the bank? I got the hidden canyon kinda for that reason but it's just so nice I kinda wanna bang it up to bad. lol
@@Deadtileyedie okay so story time, I used to carry a buck 110 folder my grandfather gifted me. And after awhile I started to get into using stones to sharpen it, I kept it super sharp. I've carried a knife regularly since I was 10. I even carried them to school. I don't think I've ever had someone ask why I carry one haha. Maybe just because where I live it's pretty normal to have a knife on you. Forgot my knife at work one day and they asked me if I needed to back and get my dress...
Today's reason to carry a knife was, "Needed to cut off a piece of bent/cracked plastic weather stripping that was keeping the window on my side door from closing all the way." Either disassemble window taking 30 minutes to do it "right" to get at it with a razor knife, or take 30 seconds and stuff the skinny PM2 in the tiny gap and presto, 29 minutes saved.
My children are now 36 to 41 3 girls. We used to take a major family trip every January with their grandparents. Prior to the middle 90s when they were growing up they always got a new Barbie or such and I always used my Swiss army knife to cut them open. Prior to 1997 or so no one questioned my Swiss army knife going thru airport security if you were at a larger airport like JFK or Chicago Ohare the gift shops past security often carried swiss army knives. i know shocking to many but it was true.
Here in Spain police always ask you the same damn question.....and even after you answer them... They take your knife and says you - that's not enough reason to have a weapon on you 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ .....and by law you can carry a folding knife up to 11cm of blade length "a bit over 4 inches ".....the other day they removed from me my crkt ceo..... %100, and she needs one a lot lol. And since most of my nicest knives were presents from her she'd say "and why the hell not" if I said I didn't have one which has only happened like once when I had basketball shorts on. So now even when I'm wearing workout clothes I've got a knife on me.
in the words of nick shabazz " your best self defence tool is a pair of running shoes" and hes 100% right
Yup, even brandishing a knife, in legitimate self defense, better have your legal game on point, because now you're the crazy guy with a knife when they call the cops.
Foster the people said it best “out run my gun”
I use my knives for opening packages that would be way easier to open without a knife, but dammit if I'm carrying a knife I'm gonna use it.
Amen
I started to carry a good knife after watching the movie 127 hours.
So now I have a way to make myself less alive if someone forces me to watch that movie again.
i love you man ..... seriously spilt my cereal bowl
@MightyRude this is the best comment I've ever read. I spit out my crayons
"That's why I carry a ninja sword." Haha. That cracked me up. Great video.
Definitely looking forward to the "10 Main Reasons I Carry a Ninja Sword" follow-up video
I own $5000 worth of high end knives to open Amazon boxes.
Boxes filled with more high end knives?
😂... same 🤦🏻♂️
I have roughly 130 knives whose main use is opening boxes with new knives. But today I needed to open the plastic blister packaging for batteries, spyderco chaparral to the rescue.
Hope you always have the income that covers all your needs
Like I have multitool and foldable pocket
but there is like 100 different blade shapes for foldables and I they are "tactical" "hunting" "survival"
and they just look a bit different but its still a blade and hande that folds. what the point? (except just collecting)
Because on average over the last 15,000 years, those that have something pokey or sharp have lived longer than those without one. :D
That was poetically beautiful!
Good story
What was the point of tracking Russian aircraft?? If we don’t go to war with them
I don't have a specific reason, but a always say "A knife makes life easier". And it does! (Along with a Leatherman on the belt)
I've been tunneling to the center of the earth using only my 4max for about 7 months now. I hit a soild ball of iron a couple months back, so it's taking me abit longer to get through it. A good strop once a month n shes good to go. I'll call yas when I get there. -Bill
Favorite steel so far?
When I’m doing side jobs I pry quite a bit.... that’s usually when I carry my 940
940’s a BEAST in a small EDC package
I'm personally not the biggest Benchmade fan after a few bad experiences with my infidel, bugout. BUT my natural g10 m4 940 is just perfect and a all around well thought out edc design in my opinion. Only benchmades I've kept is the 940, crooked river and the hidden canyon(fixed blade) .
When I hear the incredulity in the voice of a person who askes me why I carry a knife, I ask them with the same incredulity why don't they carry a knife?
👌🏻😎
I've always carried a pocket knife since I've had one when I was little. Granted I never had a 2" or smaller blade for school, so I had to go without, but everyday since I've had one on me. Feel naked without one on me, no matter the size. You never know when you're going to need it!
My work edc is always a olight s2rbaton ll in right pocket , pocket knife in back right pocket ( the model varies) and leatherman surgecon right hip. The surge has been a heavily used and useful tool for work . Wallet is silver xsto wand sometimes my impact is clipped on belt . 🖖🏼
Hahaha 🤣 the reaching one...ain't gonna lie, yeah when I drop a french fry in my car and use a sebenza to get to it I feel like a doofus😅. But yeah it is convenient.
🤣🤣🤣 Same here! I've used my ultratech, umnumzaan, shaman and manix 2 for so many random things like this! I always carry one of those and a small knife/beater like the qsp penguin but stuff like this gives me a even better excuse to carry a large knife 🤣🤣
That happened to me and I couldn’t reach it with my small Sebenza . So I grabbed large Sebenza 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@sweetdrahthaar7951yes yes!!!! That s what I'll tell my wife! "I need a large sebenza so I can reach dropped French fries" ! 🤣🤣🤷
I've used my para 2 s30v and my rat 1 D2 to cut wires at work and chipped the edges. Now I also edc leatherman wave +
I was waiting to hear -MC "I'm just a guy with a knife" 😎👍 great vids brother!
New level of joy finding out MC also does the old catch and release with spiders.
Excellent comment sir!!! 💯👏👏
At this point i'm so used to the weight in my pocket that I feel naked without it! Great video MC, love it as usual!
I’ve carried a knife everyday since I was 16 and going to college (running start) and it’s become so second nature, I’ve actually had moments where I didn’t notice the weight and started panicking a little because I thought I had lost my knife
I tend to cut zip ties and a few times made some rough spots in s30v, my Mk1 Ritter Houge 20cv and my WE in s35vn when it was brand new
But all have been easy to fix
I use the lanyard hole tab on my UTX85 to pop energy drink tabs and pop the pistachios that aren't completely opened up.
They also work great for marking. I use the tip to scratch and scour things all the time.
Might need to open a mustard pack, box, or something. I also use knives for marking sometimes. I’m a woodworker. Got to have a blade.
The people that would ask me why I carry a pocket knife are the exact people who I choose not to be around.
Here is a real story:
I went on a date with the girl i liked for some time.
Get a “Beer&Sausage” knife. It is a classy non-locking knife with a slim fork included
I thought they were mainly for opening the package our next knife arrives in.
Christmas morning - the granddaughters bring every toy to me to open. Barbies are a JOB to open, with all of the attachments to the backing.
At my sister-in-laws outdoor desert wedding I used a BM 710 to extract a cholla jumping cactus ball from one of the brides-maid's toe. Loads of fun.
I always carry a knife because when I don't have one, I'm going to need one
Brilliant! And 💯 true. 😎🤘🏻
12:04 lmao “yeah you carry around a pair of scissors and you can nyeeeuh” killed me.
Stop being so smart and pragmatic. You’re supposed to encourage us to gut-punch strangers with karambits
Yes watch and knife the best combination I have a gshock watch I need to repair the battery tho
Idk man, I would be pretty nervous to do the kind of prying he's talking about with my Chaparal
Totally ok with light prying.
what is the knife with the green handle and straight blade edge? NY? HU? Dumb question, but I like it.
Artisan Sea Snake.
Stirred my coffee with my pocketknife while out and about today
I carry knives because i love to fidget, cut, prepare food and open packages and self defense if need arises.
You can explain why a knife is better than scissors to some people all day long and they will never believe you. Zip ties, yep I've used my knife when I can't salvage the zip tie. Yes I reuse them.
Cutting little dingles of carpet and clothing that stick out, but must not be pulled...
MY clothes get pretty beat up at work.I fairly often have to cut frays off of my pants/shorts.
Loe your channel , voice and sense of humour , keep it up, always enjoying watching your channel
Hey, I like this video idea! Also thanks for the ideas last night!
I'm an ER nurse I never lend my knife. Get her some leatherman Raptors...good kit
I always try to carry 2 knives my folder and a small fixed blade. I’ll usually hand my fixed blade to just about anyone, but I’ll rarely hand over my folder because I’ve had a guy almost impale himself before 👀
One day a guy at work asked to use it, I said sure. This dude made a extra hole in his leather belt and barley put pressure on it and my knife went right through the belt. I normally rotate my crkt minimalists between my gmf1 but since I sent it to MC I’ve been missing it dearly
@@ChugChug3 DAAAMN lucky he didn't hurt himself! I have a buck 110 from my grandfather as well I used for hunting. I just recently replaced it with the microtech socom mini fixed(great knife but grip legth and blade are little on the larger side for edc, atleast for me) .So YOU have gmf1. That was my favorite "edc" fixed blade I ever had! Crazy slicey for the thickness and really comfortable to me. I unfortunately lost it on a fishing trip like a dummy. If you ever get a chance to check out the Benchmade hidden River do so. I really like it. I actually don't mind the steel on the crkt minimalist and actually like it alot but the damn sheath broke. I could maybe find one online. Thanks for your contribution to the channel man! Be safe and take care!

what knife is that wharncliffe fixed blade?
Several times I have used a large folder for defensive intimidation. I am 65 with 2 artificial knees and an artificial hip running away is not an option for me. I was on business in a" good" area of the city but someone had bad designs on me
Emerson Karambit for left pocket. Shiro Quantum on my right pocket. My EDC knives.
The idea alone of all the extra possibilities gou get with a knife in the pocket is reason enough for me to carry one everyday.
Complex always says he's not a self defense guy about knives but I think he's just trying to cover his tracks 👀
I carry a knife cuz i love hearing that im a maniac, psycho, and theyre callin police on me XD.
Metal complex, thanks for videos
I've carried a knife regularly since I was 10. I even carried them to school. I don't think I've ever had someone ask why I carry one haha. Maybe just because where I live it's pretty normal to have a knife on you. Forgot my knife at work one day and they asked me if I needed to back and get my dress...
Today's reason to carry a knife was, "Needed to cut off a piece of bent/cracked plastic weather stripping that was keeping the window on my side door from closing all the way."
Either disassemble window taking 30 minutes to do it "right" to get at it with a razor knife, or take 30 seconds and stuff the skinny PM2 in the tiny gap and presto, 29 minutes saved.
Sometimes I carry titanium shears if I have a specific task in mind such as clipping some wild rosemary herbs to season my dinner on my walk home.
I carry two knives. One for utility and one for secondary defense.
Is the blade show on this year ?
lol I had lot's of coworkers that use to ask me why I care a knife and when I explain it to them now they all ask me for a knife lmao
The wear on the QSP looks awesome
I have 2 with the denim and they half as good
Great topic for a video. Intrigued me to tune in and watch.
And told that that was a weapon while in my bag I han a ton of other tools " cause I was practising bmx" and I literally told them... - if I'm going to hurt a person I rather use the big ass wrench I have with me.... One hit and done.... And the told me that I can have that on me... But not the knife...
