Poensie in the SURF! Long wade to throw on the reef! New rods revealed!

- The plan was to go and target a kob from the beach.I decided to make along wade and long throw onto a reef for a black mussel cracker a.k.a Poensie or Poenskop. I was rewarded with a beautiful specimen! in the proces I Was testing the new Horizon Zero Championship edition 5 and 6! They passed the tests! Unfortunately I Failed to catch a kob, I don't know why, but I couldn't raise a bite from a kob!

Your success rate of landing target species is just amazing,I want poenkop,bam,got one.
On another note,last year I went to tackle shop to buy extra grinder spools yo have braid and mono options, slide rig,or rocks rig. But they never carry separate spools and if they have to order one it cost 70%of a new reel, it's insane,why they don't sell reels these days with extra spools does not make sense .

Hi Xander I enjoy your channel so much, thank you. In the #5 range would the 14ft be ok for me as I'm nearing 60 now and is there a big difference between the 14ft and the 15ft thank you.
Thanks! The 14ft is even lighter than the 15ft. It is a very lekka edible rod. The 14ft is almost more crisp than the 15ft. You will really enjoy the rod as an all round edible rod.

Xander are there ever any situations where you personally would opt for a J Hook over a Circle Hook?
Only when fishing for shad and sometimes when I throw a whole mackerel

where I fish need to throw pretty far to the banks. Fishing for edibles which would you recommend the 5 or the 6 , bearing in mind i will need to get to those far banks ? Also am not a young guy anymore so cant load the real heavy rods anymore.

Amazing video, what backing and mainile do you use? What make and how many kgs it can hold. For sharks and kob.
hi,depends on what I am targeting. kob I use any backing up to 50lb and my topshot would be 30lb. JDB dismay preferred brand.. sharks and rays I use 60lb 80lb and even 100lb at times
