    You didn't make this video until a few months after I had installed my first ever lift pump I ever seen even first diesel truck but I got to say in retrospect I think yours is the best of the videos that I've seen. First off besides being thorough about what to do and why you injected some humor and fun and it made it actually cool to watch through even though I've now, done it.

    Ive got an Air Dog sat on my dinning table, I’m starring at it and the the wife and kid are starring at me. None of us were happy, until we watched your video… wife said “well, I suppose you can do it and we will get our @#^%ing dinning table back then”. My daughter said “daddy can I help”..?
    So thanks for making a video that makes it look fun for my kid…… she’s probably just going to bring me some snacks and ask me to play Mario Cart, but she’s 9, so I’m flattered 😊

    great video! i ordered a FASS pump today and plan on following your procedures! your video is the best procedure ive seen on youtube! my 2008 w/160k is having fuel issues possibly due to vacuum loss from worn seals hoses etc. i agree completely with the need for a lift pump for the high pressure pump feed. makes perfect sense as many diesels have! not sure why duramax didnt use lift pumps on some systems! thanks for this great install video and helpful and interesting information.

    Air dog also doesn’t have a bypass circuit if the motor or the pump itself fails and leaves you stranded. Fass does, therefore if the pump fails, you can still pump fuel with the CP3 and limp to town, home, or shop.

      @freedomworx  5 дней назад

      That's interesting. I have someone tell me that their FASS failed but they were able to keep driving 👍

    Good video, thanks. I bought the FASS for my 2004 Chevy 6.6 Duramax, I liked the 5/8" long sweep tube in the pump opposed to the smaller 1/2" 90-degree tight bend on the Air Dog. Bought the filter delete from FASS but it would not stop leaking, had to take it off, put a new filter and housing on instead, now I have a nice aluminum filter delete paperweight I can't do squat with. Anyone else have that problem with the filter delete not working?
    I increased my highway mileage about 1.5 -2 mpg. I typically get around 27-28 mpg on the highway empty and hauling around 22 mpg, depends on the ambient temp. I'm all stock on my 2004 dually crew cab so I installed the 100 series, just turned over 112,120 miles when I got the safety inspection the other day. I highly recommend everyone do this for your diesels. It's $700 well spent.
    I always buy new trucks and take care of what I have. Still have a 1992 Ford F-350 dually crew with the 7.3 and 5 speed manual.

    I've had the AirDog 165 II on my 96 GM 6.5L since 2013. The truck is happier with it than the OEM. Even the OEM 1994 LP which was supposedly a little better.
    Mine was gifted having been on two previous trucks since 2008. Customer service was great as I chose to go with new hoses vs. the already twice cobble up ones I recieved. Clear instructions and I'm not intuitive though I had to adapt because at the time, there wasn't a kit for the 6.5 motor equipped trucks (They do now). The pump motor failed after four years later (guess I'm part of another 1% group [Veteran) and, again, customer service was great. Sold me a new motor only and for a low price and I was able to repair the system in short order. The truck was off line until last year and I just reinstalled the AirDog. Again, the truck is much happier and I plan to leave it in.

    I guess you could buy that fitting that Fass uses to go to the suction line and put it into the plumping of the AirDog setup and you could do the same bypass the lift pump scenario if you had the lift pump fail to take it out of the system loop.

    I have a 2011 LML I installed this same pump on, w/ the WC Fab mount, using CAT filter, I also installed a sump pump on the bottom of the tank and did a fuel filter bypass delete under the hood removing the original fuel filter assembly. Everything works like a champ. I did that a couple years ago but saw this video and had to check it out.

    Good call on the hard spiral wrap.
    At 17:34 it shows the hose going right against 3 layers of body sheet metal. I would add more protection in areas like that against chaffing by installing a stainless steel hose clamp over the wrap so that the sheet metal rubs against the hose clamp and not the wrap. At 650GPM, that pump would empty your tank before you could shut off the engine. At over $5 per gallon, better safe than sorry.

    I installed my FASS system when I got my 2012 GMC. I also installed a tank sump to clean it up for return and complete fuel use (in case the gauge goes stupid). Put a fuel filter (billet) delete at the motor. Working great. Change filter and separator every other oil change (cheap insurance). I heard a DF delete, 3 stage tuner and straight exhaust is available. 🙄 someplace. Not sure.

Soni would have to remove the ball ans spring and cut 1 to 1 and half coil off of the spring to lower the psi sent to the engine. Duramaxs like to see about 5 to 7 psi without the loping issue! @stevenm.hollis4429 there are pros and cons to each. The thing I like about the external units provide easier service to the pump and provide for more filter capacity. The main reason OEMs put them in the tank, is noise reduction.

    How do you know the psi it put up to the injection pump? If it needs ti be regulated can it regulate?

    • @freedomworx
      @freedomworx  6 месяцев назад +1

      There is a regulator incorporated into the FASS assembly. It’s designed to be 8-10PSI.

    • @jaffasoft8976
      @jaffasoft8976 6 месяцев назад

      That be cool. Probably just enough to help push my waste veg oil as regular VE type pump struggling but I shouldn’t put it under too much pressure sucking either.

    • @freedomworx
      @freedomworx  6 месяцев назад

      It’s different depending on the application. A Duramax CP3 pump doesn’t like any more than that pressure. But the FASS system for a 12 Valve P-Pump motor is significantly higher than 10 PSI. Not sure about the VE systems though.

    Hello how much pressure should I put to the pump for lb7 2003?

    • @freedomworx
      @freedomworx  6 месяцев назад

      I wouldn’t know. I’ve got an LBZ 😉. I take it on faith that FASS and AirDog set the pump pressure appropriate for the application.

      The only difference between the two is the plumbing, and the filter style, and I explained that in the video. Yeah the Airdog has adjustable pressure, but nobody adjusts the pressure so it’s a more point.
