Absolutely not. Earl is a distinctively English/British version of the title. "Graf" is almost always translated as Count since Count is the name of the title in all cases but the British ones.

Na, so finster war das Mittelalter doch nicht. Bis auf die Tatsache das man ruck-zuck Bekanntschaft mit Morgenstern oder Streithammer machen konnte.
