  • I show how to load and thread a twin needle on my Brother sewing machine. I show how to use multiple twin needles and how the different stitches look. You will learn how to adjust the needle position so it does not break or hit the presser foot,. Plus, you will see a lot of decorative stitches. This has been the best sewing machine I have ever used. If you like this video and want to learn more I did a sewing machine review on this brother SQ9185 sewing machine.

Very well delivered video, wish others could take a lesson from how it should be done. As for the dbl needles, you really need to be careful, it's pretty easy to break one of those expensive needles, always hand turn the wheel before you even think about sewing a stitch. This man is GOOD!

I need to sew a zipper in backpack (synthetic material with black lining) and I'm lost at the combination of a twin needle, what thread, what foot. Sewing machine and everything mechanical is so challenging for me ...

Bravo 👏 I loved ya video I was just watching another one on sewing 🧵 with a twin needle you explained it properly I’ve been sewing for 64 years and you are the only one on here that remarked on how to let the thread come off of the spool and why that little notch is to be positioned and why it makes it so easy for a person who is just learning how to use a twin needle I wonder how many people have tried this without knowing about that little notch and either broke needles or thread breaking and didn’t know why you need to make sewing 🧵 videos I’ll follow though I know how to sew

(Turns out it's the tiny thread guide step at the very end - keeping the left thread under the guide and the right thread out). I also didn't know you could do all those decorative stitches with a double needle, so thanks for the demonstration!

Really good video. I just got the Brother XR9550PRW. I like that you film things close up and explain it all as you do it. And thanks for the link to get those needles!

Is there a particular project that you're learning how to sew for? Thanks for watching.

@@oxmanagain I sew with upholstery fabric as you know there are a lot of decorative stitching used in reupholstering. I wanted to learn the double stitch to do a layered look (4 square) for the center cushion of the ottoman. Your video was a great help choosing the stitch I would like to use. Is there any you would recommend?

Wow! I haven't even experimented with my twin needle yet but I am so grateful I saw the notification for this video. I would've not known about checking the clearance through the pressure foot or maybe even used the wrong foot. I can't say thank you enough for making this video. So incredibly valuable info you have presented. After watching how nice a twin needle can make decorative stitches inspires me to give it a try. Hopefully I have the spool pin for the bobbin winder. You rock my friend. 👍

@@oxmanagain your very welcome. Unfortunately I had a little accident. I inadvertently bumped my needle down button upon reaching up to my machine and not only broke my only twin needle but jammed my machine. I did unjam it but I'll have to buy a new twin needle. I will say through this learning process, I did find out my machine has a twin need mode which moves the needles over. I wish I saw that when I got started. I'll write you back when I get new needles.
