But he does have a point that you will get a fine if you drive without one, thus making it illegal, right? But yeah it's not too bad. You just have to remember it when you cross Switzerland. As a person who lives in Switzerland I must say the prices are INSANE, I hate it so much, 1 small shopping spree cost more than 100 francs. Living in Lugano I wish I could see you!
As someone who lives 10 minutes away from Luzern, it is really amazing to see you walk through places that I have fond memorys with. Regarding the prices, switzerland is a lot cheaper if you know were the locals are and not the tourist, but it is after all quite expensive.
so tell me how much a local would have paid for the same meal? if the minimum wage is 23 chf per hour, it would make sense that a meal would cost less than this. Finland is apparently on equal terms of cost, and buying a meal here is usually possible for less than 16 euros.
This video is mostly misleading. The 23$ an hour only exists in geneva, which is home to about 5% of Swiss people, so not true for the whole country at all.

Looks like Drew extra looked for expansive places or so..
The problem is also that in the last 20 years the US Dollar has lost about 40% of value compared to the Swiss Franc. (or 65% loss in 35 years). So of course you would have to pay more USD to get stuff in Switzerland.
Hi Drew, I'm from Italy and I live in Switzerland. We normally need over 5000 CHF for month and we are just 2 people. With only one salary would be impossible to live 2 people. That's Switzerland 😂 high life quality for a big price
Really cool Drew! I’ve been to Switzerland a number of times and for sure, it is such an expensive country, but quality of life is so high! I love going, but am always aware I’m going to spend min £500 in a weekend. Also, cash is still very much king, so when I go, it’s easy to see how much you have left. Often spend 2-300 CHF on a weekend of food and travel, attractions etc. Still an unbelievable country to visit and you can never get enough of the breathtaking scenery! Look forward to the next video! 😃
As a swiss person a lot of the things said here is bullshit, 2 sandwiches are not 100$, he just chose a very expensive restaurant, people don't go shopping outside of switzerland unless they are very close to the border
That’s not really the same thing because the official language of San Marino is Italian and everyone speaks Italian. Whereas in Switzerland Italian is a secondary language which only 8% of the population speak.

I've travelled quite extensively through Europe but haven't made it to Switzerland yet. Our Australian dollars are pretty good against many currencies but it will still be SO expensive to visit there. I might have to get a lot of my meals from the supermarket haha.

I have A French bulldog and an English bulldog. The Frenchie kind of looks like your dog, just with a little darker brown body and his ears are pointing strait up! So cute!
Love your videos, but this time you fell a few times for tourist traps. Even though Switzerland is expensive, you can normally get a good coffee for a very decent price, no way you normally would pay USD $30. That Thai food was way too expensive too, probably because it was at a festival. The food at the restaurant you went to at the beginning looked rather luxurious, normally you can eat cheaper than that, although admittedly eating out in Switzerland is expensive.
I think this was for at least 2 Cappuccino's and maybe a desert. In the video he showed multiple receipts for around CHF 6.- so I guess it wasn't just coffe ;)
Maybe he got the price wrong. But it almost seems like he chose the most expensive stuff so that he can make a point. I think it's not fair on Switzerland's tourism and I feel like he should have at least made a disclaimer.
Isn't that a lifehack tho, like you could live in switzerland, make tons of money by finding the worst hotels to live in and eat some reasonalby prices food, and then buy with all the savings a house in any other country.
In Lucerne he just passed next to Manor, where you can find a Manora Selfservice-Restaurant at the top of the building, with a top view over the old town/lake/mountains. And you will get a full meal for two people for 30% of the price in Lugano. (Sandwiches/Fries would probably cost around CHF 5 - 10 at Manor). Meaning... most of the money for Restaurants in Switzerland you pay for the service... not for the food.
I HAVE FAMILY IN LUGANO! No way you are there, i left a couple of weeks ago after the latest visit! My recommendations are taking a ferry starting in the Lugano lake, and go through to Italy across the border!
The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance - either on your own or with the help of a Financial Advisor. If you can get the facts about savings and investing with a well detailed plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your income.
It's not how much money you save in the bank, but how much money you earn and how hard it works for you. Money devalue over time, investment is the best option as it grows over time

how much is it?
@@besmart2350 if you're a tourist buy a travel pass starting from 232CHF for 3 days or up to CHF 429 for 15 days.
For longer stays you have to buy a Halbtax for 165 CHF (even possible as a foreigner) which will halve all your ticket prices which is very worth it. Expect 40 CHF to go the neighbour city next door (20 CHF with Halbtax) and 100 CHF if you travel from one city to another (50 CHF Halbtax), one way. If you ever come back to Spain please visit one of these:
-Granada: the last city to be under control of the moors, it has a beautiful islamic palace that is a unesco world heritage site
-País vasco: this region in northern Spain has its own language and culture(although spanish is more commonly spoken) the language is in no way related to any other language in the world, I think it could be interesting for a video. It also has the beautiful lush green landscapes and mountains that can be commonly found throughout the north.
-Cádiz: THE oldest city in the country with nice beaches and lots of history
-Ceuta/Melilla: these two spanish cities are just like any other spanish city but are actually in northern africa, this means it has the EU’s most fortified border. I think this could be interesting for a video.

Congratulations you have been selected for my give Dm to claim your prizes 🎉.🎉🎉🎉🎉
so tell me how much a local would have paid for the same meal? if the minimum wage is 23 chf per hour, it would make sense that a meal would cost less than this. Finland is apparently on equal terms of cost, and buying a meal here is usually possible for less than 16 euros.
This video is mostly misleading. The 23$ an hour only exists in geneva, which is home to about 5% of Swiss people, so not true for the whole country at all.
You can get a good meal for about 20-25 chf.

@@xKiLLzZx1 Or maybe he meant $13 instead, you could see 5.50 or 6.50 CHF on the bill which would be a regular price for 1 cappuccino.
