This video not only showed how Drew matured over the years he was traveling, not just in videos but as a person with experience, when you watch his older videos you can tell he was still new to the world and by maybe 2 years he changed his sense of traveling and is more open when visiting Africa, much love to Drew.
When I was much younger I was traveling in the USA by Greyhound and I met a man from Egypt. He randomly just offered me fruit I said no thanks obviously you don't typically take food from a stranger. But we became friends and we talked I drew him a little photo he keeps in his wallet and he gave me a coin from Egypt I carry it everyday with me.
I think the main reason this young man can do well for his $10 is because he has a local with him, so he gets local prices. To his credit, he also does a pretty decent job of haggling at the markets when things are clearly overpriced, and some people are terrible at that. Still and all, these videos are pretty interesting and done generally well. I don't think I'd be globe-trotting around a Covid-19 world right now, soI appreciate getting a glimpse of what's happening these days. i love to travel and lived for many years in Asia.

I'm from the US and in Egypt right now. I can vouch. Every site has been empty from Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and more. I've had every site to myself. Also the Egyptian people were so excited to see tourist back and visiting and were very nice and accommodating. I also can vouch it is very tough due to COVID to get in. Great video! Accurate representation.

Could have gotten it for cheaper though. I'm Egyptian, I once bargained to buy a watch in Malaysia from 150 MR down to 30 MR. Locals say I still got scammed and should pay maximum 10 MR for it.
it's a technique. when they offer a very high price like 80 you say too much and ask for 5, of course they will reject it, but then you say 20 or 30 and they most of the time will agree

All the food in the middle east is connected. It's like dialects, same language, but done differently across the map. The beans in Syria is done with more hummus and less spices, and even in other parts of Egypt it's done differently. Up north it's done with tomatoes onions and parsley, down south onions and peppers mostly

Locals say I still got scammed and should pay maximum 10 MR for it.
as an Egyptian myself i would never pay more than 15 for this trash , it wasn't even that well made, bad quality and insanely high price.
it's a technique. when they offer a very high price like 80 you say too much and ask for 5, of course they will reject it, but then you say 20 or 30 and they most of the time will agree

All the food in the middle east is connected. It's like dialects, same language, but done differently across the map. The beans in Syria is done with more hummus and less spices, and even in other parts of Egypt it's done differently. Up north it's done with tomatoes onions and parsley, down south onions and peppers mostly
