for the sake of my sanity, I head cannon that agent 4 moved back to her hometown to protect it from nefarious activity and expand the squidbeak splatoon
my headcannon is that 4 started going back to school to move forward in their lives
Agent 4 lives in their "hometown". They never moved to Inkopolis, they just always were born and raised close enough to Inkopolis right outside of the city. This is information we've known for years. It's a reason why Agent 4 is so indifferent to Inkopolis, because Agent 3 came from the country, but Agent 4 was raised around the city, so they're used to it. You can find it all on Nintendo's website that they list about the characters directly.
One of my personal head cannons is that OG agent 3 sneaks in Splatoon 1 specials into turf war to relive the glory days
XD Aww, I love that
_"WHAT IS THAT HUGE SONIC BEAM COMING THROUGH THE WALL?!"_
@jellycore1316 "THAT’S A LITTLE BIG FOR A STING RAY"
"WHY US THE TRIZOOKA FIRING TORNADOES AND WHY IS IT WAY MORE THAN 3 SHOTS?!"
A common headcanon I see and love is that Pearl has a “problem” of looking at any issues her friends and loved ones are in and throwing money at it to solve it for them.
Which is helpful because between Marina, Acht, and 8; Pearl has a habit of making friends with Octolings who’ve just upended their lives escaping the regime of a totalitarian DJ, and are in need of a place to stay. Really great in a situation like that to have a friend who’ll just buy you a house if she can’t get you to live in her mansion.
The only issue is none of those three live in houses bought by Pearl in any way. Agent 8 lives with Agent 4, Acht used all of the back-pay she had from her Dedf1sh label to buy her own place, and Marina just used the money she made herself to rent her own place. Pearl just lives in her mansion alone. Splatoon is funnily enough very good about making sure we know either how/where/what the main characters all live in. Like we literally have info on every Agent and every idol when it comes to their housing.
My headcanon is that Marina taught Pearl how to say swear words less often and that’s why Pearl doesn’t swear in Side Order (or at least not that I know of anyway) but in Octo Expansion Pearl swears a lot
My head cannon is that big man love making shiver and frye go with him to the pool even though they can't swim. They just watch *him* swim. (Maybe shiver would use master mega to at least hang out in the water)
throwing a Neo Agent 3 headcanon out there, but they know how to sew and often make clothes for Lil' Buddy and fix any plush toys he has :3
by the way the whole salmonid section was SOOOOOOOOOO cathartic to watch because i've been thinking about this for the LONGEST TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEE
is there a discord server or something......... it'd be fun to yap with others who watch your channel i think. i have so many Neo 3 headcanons to ramble about
That's adorable, I love that so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the Salmon Run segment because I'm really proud of the editing and I had a ton of fun working on it!
Unfortunately I don't have a Discord server and I don't have any plans to start one. That would require a lot of effort and just I don't have time for all that, but thank you for the support! :)
@@Macepanda_ 1. thank you!!! and you did a really good job dude omg
2. that's understandable honestly, i've considered starting one myself of even just my twitter mutuals and that's still a terrifying amount LOL
She should really fix her shirt then lol
@@Freelancer837 they like the look of torn clothes
My headcanon is that D.J Octavio after the events of splatoon 3 very likely probably disbanded the Octarian Army, due to no longer having any hostility with the Inklings by the time of splatoon 3 and simply because by splatoon 3 as-well both Octolings and Inklings co-exist togheter in inkadia (Specially Splatsville and Inkopolis).
That's kinda sad though. Wasn't the whole point of the Zapfish plan to restore the Octarian Wasteland? (I know what Cuttlefish said, but only 5 of the Zapfish were used offensively)
@GamingGreen21 The thing is that the octarian army's purpose became useless by then, what's the point of continuing the army if Octarian-Inkling relations aren't bad anymore like Splatoon 1 and Pre-Splatoon 2 and he already lost like almost all the octolings in his army thanks to the calamari inkantation and later mr. grizz, it simply doesn't make any sense anymore. Plus, if you think about nintendo's post that said Splatoon 3 is the "End of the Splatastic saga" that pretty much is nintendo saying that Splatoon 3 is the end of the New Squidbeak Splatoon.
@funny_s3an915 The army's purpose is to protect the Octarians, from the Squidbeaks or anything else. Disbanding it completely RIGHT after Grizz showed the equal risk posed by third parties doesn't sit right with me
@GamingGreen21 Good point ig, but like the "protect fron the squidbeak" part is kinda meh because by now octavio must've realized one thing, and that is that every time the NSS invades his domes like Agent 3 and 4 did on both splatoon 1 & 2 he's cooked. (Don't take this seriously lmao) anywyas, g'night
On the subject of the Salmonids, another interview stated they saw the invasion as a battle with honor, they were proud to die defending against the Inklings.
What I think set them off was the Octolings. After the Calamari Inkantation brought them to the surface, they joined Grizzco without the Salmonids' knowledge. From their point of view, the Octarians probably broke the trade deal. That's why the Triumvirate decided to step up and take the fight to the surface
Yeah but then you have the issue of the Splatlands. In the Splatlands, the Octolings have been ingrained in normal society the whole time, so Salmonids are used to fighting Octolings already anyway. Not sure if they'd really be able to tell the difference between an ex-Octarian and a non-Octarian.
@@Freelancer837 The Splatlands may not have had Grizzco before Splatoon 3. Either way, Grizzco wasn't established until Splatoon 2, so they wouldn't have fought Octolings anyway
@@GamingGreen21 Either way, I don't see why that would be any reason for the Salmonids to be mad over it. Maybe if the Octarians took their power eggs but didn't give the Salmonids any tech, but there's no exchanging of either anymore for there to be anyway so it's not like they got screwed over out of the deal (not to mention that plenty of that Octarian tech is probably just sitting unguarded down there now too since they didn't bring it to the surface with them). If they see Inklings invading as a battle with honor, I don't see why they wouldn't just clump that all together and be like "Guess we fighting too now".
@@Freelancer837 Honor goes beyond the battlefield. The traded Octarian tech went straight into fighting the Inklings. I don't see how it wouldn't be dishonorable to you for them to suddenly switch sides and exploit their weaknesses (Also I like to think that not literally every Octarian moved to the surface. Like, erasure much?)
Not really a headcanon but I wanna see more inklings/octolings that look different due to being based on different species of squid/octopus, like Frye or [insert band member here that I forgor]
I wanna see an umbrella octopus octoling
i headcanon that you can trap an inkling/octoling soul in a bottle and lock them up forever if you are an evil person
0:09 I guess I'm shiver 😭
The girlies yearn for the Blåhaj (myself included)
So glad to not only see mine get in, but was the very first one! Thanks! And everyone else's was pretty good too.
I guess in case you do a second one of these:
Marie always knows what's going on. She knows everyone's everyone's secrets (at least within her friend group, which I imagine at least includes the Now or Never 7) and nothing ever gets passed her. She plays it off as part of her ego (though she never brags about it), but secretly it's because of what happened to Callie in Splat 2.
I think that tentacles sort of function like clay where you can just show us mould and shape them like there are probably some rules to it like gravity so like you can style Marina‘s hair completely straight up because gravity would just pull it down
I also hope that someday they add in a small underground band that eventually maybe in like the next game after they are added, they become a real idol group Although I understand why they wouldn’t do this because I know some people wouldn’t like it and would rather just have a completely new group, although I wonder what band they would do it for if they used a band right now
The moldable hairstyles is kinda what I think about it sorta, but just wanted to comment on the straight Marina hair comment because it's good to note Inklings all have straight hair while Octolings all have curly hair, despite how much GMod Splatoon animators love to force Octolings' hair to be straight lol
@ when I meant straight up, I meant like pull her hair up above her head defying gravity but I feel like it would also work for curls where if you pulled Marina’s hair straight down it would bounce back up into a curl
The reason grizzco wasn't in splatoon original was because they used salmonid experiments to harvest the eggs for them. Thats why there are big runs in splatoon 3 so they don't make the mistake of letting another entity that isn't directly from the sea into their territory and so they can get revenge on them for stealing their eggs.
The reason Grizzco isn't in Splatoon 1 is actually because Mr Grizz's rocket actually has only very recently fallen back to Earth, like around the times of the games close. Grizzco didn't exist or wasn't a big corporate entity at the time.
@ Yeah that makes more sense 🫡
The reason for big run was actually stated in a scroll is splatoon 2, it’s actually just a prophecy being fulfilled. And the salmon are also stated in the splatoon 2 scrolls to do salmon runs every 70 years and they already have a history of going through and invading inkling settlements. So no it’s not a “revenge” thing it’s a thing they’ve been doing for a very very long time.
@@NoName-1005 Wow that makes even more sense🫥
4:53 "Rizzco"
every 300 seconds (or a little more(extra wave as well)); there are multiple mass genocides being committed from players to the salmonids this means there has to be at least a sextillion of them and more, I think there either is some type of god/mother of all salmonid that births them or they are mass manufactured from machines, I also feel this idea could possibly be explored in the next game. (I did a bit of quick maths based on the golden egg counter that was on one of the big runs but could very well be far off)
I headcanon that after agent 8 like escaped they got “adopted” by Pearl and Marina :3
You say that like that’s not canon.
3:40 / when you get a long detailed reply 🥹🥹🥹
One headcanon I like about Shiver and Acht is the idea of them using She/They pronouns, depending on the moment. Acht seems more likely the type to do that since they were referred to with she/her pronouns as “DEDF1SH” previously while in person, talking to others, they use they/them (unless we’re talking about the Japanese version, which their pronouns were used sometimes for tomboyish characters, iirc)
on the topic of the salmonids and grand run im curious to see the consequences and aftermath of grand run in splatoon 4
Here's one i thought of: Big Man is a descendant of the Mario Sunshine Manta ray
This series is so confusing I have headcanons for every thing like big man has a humanoid form :00000
3:45 even though I don't have a favorite shipping dynamic I have a significant dynamic that I don't know the name of that I call the annoying and the annoyed it is similar in nature to enemies to lovers it always starts by either forced interaction or a situational need to act fast that results In Them meeting for one reason or another they end up spending a lot of time together or even spend a large amount of time by each other's sides and the annoying gets slowly less annoying by being more aware on what their doing that bothers the annoyed whether unintentional or not but keeps some of their qualities that some might consider annoying and the annoyed gets less annoyed as a result of a better understanding of the annoying's behavior
the only problem with all the theories about how Grizzco will evolve is the next game is a *prequel*. Implying we might get the origins of Grizzco, 'cos it wouldn't make sense to go from a Salmonid revolution to the main trilogy's timeline.
The next game will probably not be a prequel. I know a lot of people think that will happen but knowing that time in splatoon passes at the same time as the time of our world, it's more probably that we will got a Ancien Estethic or something like that.
Why are you saying that so confidently as if it's fully confirmed by Nogami himself? There hasn't even been the slightest, vaguest ghost of a fragment of a hint that the Grandfest results determine the literal time period of Splatoon 4
@ Well, in that case there is also not evidence that the game will be a prequel.
If we get a prequel, it'll be one that takes place a long while before the trilogy, most likely isn't canon similar to Age of Calamity (because Nintendo is too afraid to show anything even slightly dark), and there's also the problem that Grizzco only came into being around the time of the games. Grizz's rocket only semi-recently crashed back down onto Earth around the times the trilogy take place. That's predominantly why Grizzco isn't in Splatoon 1.
@thecolorian I really hope so. I get a lot of people want a prequel, but it's something that sounds nice on paper, but even just thinking about it for a second, there's so many problems that come from it.
I have a two in one head canon about dj octavio I see dj octavio as being a father figure of sorts to pretty much all of the octarian army hence why he's so protective of them and even so in a more literal way as I have a fan theory that the great turf war drove octolings to near extinction and dj octavio and whoever else that survived worked on a repopulation program that largely focused on a mixture of more typical cloning seen both in real life and science fiction where a artificial womb is used to grow a baby artificially made by substituting the male reproductive cell with a synthetic material sourced from removing a fairly large chunk of someone's body and processing it which is far more effective and less resource intensive than material bodies naturally produce that contain DNA and the usage of cutting a tentacle and having it turn into its own organism with dj octavio giving so much of himself that it formed his iconic scar in the early stages of this program and provides pre bottled ink as ammo for non octoling octarians which can't produce ink
