I wanna clear up some misconceptions I'm seeing in the comments. i mean i guess but im pretty sure the mass extinction of mammals in the lore was referring to land mammals specifically, because like yes, narwhals are mammals, but they live in the sea, so its not too out of the question to suggest that they didnt go extinct

It does make some sense that a Narwhal would survive. After all, it's a flood, there would still be oxygen in the air. and get this: Narwhals can survive much pressure and freezing temperatures! AND can swim??!!! 🤯🤯🤯. It makes sense because a narwhal has almost the same biology as a regular whale except the fact they can withstand colder temperatures. I don't see why the aquatic mammals couldn't just swim up, especially for whales and narwhals since they have blubber that can withstand pressure.

The thing i despise about this grandfest is the sheer amount of people who refuse to think of how the next game will be decided. If team present wins, splatoon 4 is going to have such a boring and repetitive story with the same characters all over again, we'll essentially just get splatoon 2. If team past wins, we could get a traditional themed splatoon 4 with less technology but with its own charm, and again, based on the great turf war with the weapons of mass destruction. If team future wins, we could get a cybperpunk, bright, and colourful neon looking splatoon with extremely cool designs for specials, weapons, clothing, maps, and idols. Im on team future, but i dont mind if team past wins, just as long as team present doesn't win and ruins the splatoon series as a whole.
