I took a look at some of the shield's new values, and like, what is Fromsoft Smoking?? I have small shields with as much guard boost as some of the lighter-weight greatshields! They gave most medium and small shields very substantial guard boost buffs (to say nothing of the damage negation buffs) and didn't touch greatshields. The uncharged heavy attack buff is especially wild with the *Sword Lance* and the *Sword of Night;* the former makes it even easier to true-combo into a light attack and the latter now true-combos after a *Witching Hour Slash* And while the *Furious Blade of Ansbach* buffs are good and all, what it needs is to *have it's Bleed buildup and damage scale with Arcane since it does not*
Fighting Radahn honestly (is deflection tear honest?) and finally beating him the same fight I learned to deflect his entire light speed slash string made me rock hard. It really felt like some kinda anime fight where I was like, “he’s fast, but I can just barely see his strikes! I do enjoy you beating up Lost. Seriously though, I think my favourites here are the R2 changes and the SS Daggers range increase. I feel like some of the two-hit R2s are gonna be really good now, like Erdsteel Dagger, and Warhawk talon. Martial arts might actually be worth a shake also. Overall, great patch. I look forward to see you testing it out with a few builds. Catch ya next time!
I sincerely hope they continue to adjust pvp invasion spawnpoints. For the dlc: it was virtually impossible to invade the Rauh base due to spawning impossibly far away from the host. For basegame: it's impossible to Castle Sol for the same reason.
I'm enjoying how Rellana's Twin Blade got direct and indirect buffs with the enhanced Rellana Cameo Talisman. Definitely makes the Ash of war way better in damage where it was underwhelming prior to this patch. The light waves prior lackluster range being reliable now is fantastic and the flame heavy attack having MORE poise break is a very welcomed icing on top. I tried using both weapon and cameo talisman together pre patch and it was not worth it. Now its VERY much worth the slot. The cameo procs fast enough to even boost crit hits before enemies recover from stance breaking. Overall makes the Rellana weapon far more efficient and fun to play.
the Rakshasa didn't get the offhand cancel window nerf for whatever absurd reason, but both the other Great Katanas are NOTICEABLY slower in the offhand. I don't think you can get any weapons to combo off of a Great Katana L1 now, which is such a shame.

i honestly really like the furious blade of ansbach, its very good for roll catches and even trading through light greatswords its very good with a colossal sword imo
Hey Chase, since you've pretty much tried every invasion build there is, wouldn't it be amazing if you made a top 10 builds video? You have the knowledge!!!!!
Rellana's twinblades are VERY strong, especially with combining both Alexanders warriors shard and the Rellana's Cameo talisman. As the two on their own will already increase the Ash of war damage by 667.5% on the dot. It doesn't take being Einstein to realize just HOW MUCH of a damage increase this is coming from just two talismans on their own, without taking into considering other buffs. For pvp, I would guess that one-off stance ashes would be the best for this as per-hit damage for ashes with lengthier attacks will have less per-hit damage(Rellana's) as something thats one off like Moonviel. Speaking off, Moonviel with these two talisman would probably be REALLY strong in pvp. Either your force your enemy into attacking you, in which you can throw out a heavy attack mid-attack. Or they roll, and you can time the attack to roll catch them.(Obviously, mages have a third option.)
Surprised there was no mention of how they fixed the bug with the Stone Spikes spell when on a different elevation from the target as I recall you ran into a few times in the video where you were using a gravity build and commented on it possibly being a bug or unintentional if memory serves.
I was hoping putresence cleaver would get the butcher/scalesword chop r2 , i guess the ash does fill that need but it bugs me for some reason lol. I was also hoping for a slight buff to its frostbite, i think right now the weapon is trying to be too "safe" design wise. Assuming the aow is doing its full frostbite buildup per hit (which I suspect it isnt,as a multihit attack), one would inflict 220 frost buildup if they hit with all strikes of the initial slam and the triple strike of the r2 followup, which is going to be enough to proc the effect upon only very few enemies. It does very good damage, but you either kill before frost procs or it takes too many attempts to get one over the course of a long fight or duel. Its hard to balance things in a way that works for both pvp and pve, if it got over buffed this thing could easily become unfair to fight against. However, look at wild strikes- it does full status buildup, potentially more stance damage, potentially pierce or strike damage. Frost or blood build up will likely be in the 100+ range, per hit, at a much lower fp cost! The cleaver does a good deal more base damage than most comparable infused greataxes to be fair, but overall most players that arent invested in it are probably better off with a rusted anchor. I think 70-75 buildup would feel better without making the weapon insane, maybe make it uniquely scale with arcane to get there so only someone invested to the weapon gets the higher buildup. Iono, im rambling. Im really enjoying the weapon, its not in a bad spot at all, i think it could be tuned up juuust a touch.
Ngl, *REALLY* wished they hadn't nerfed Radahn at all (I, personally, enjoyed the fight up to ng5 on my main and hadnt gotten to him on ng6 yet before the patch) but seeing as how I mostly do pvp (occasional co-op, gotta do a little giving back to the community now&again, right?) the improvements far outweigh Radahns nerf! Uncharged greatsword R2 is super strong now
Hey Chase, since you've pretty much tried every invasion build there is, wouldn't it be amazing if you made a top 10 builds video? You have the knowledge!!!!!
CGS or any other colossal sword seems so nice now, that r2 comes out reaaaally quick now
Devs be watchin' Chase terrorize the Lands Between like "QUICK, WRITE THAT DOWN!"
I can see the moonveil rising, even stronger than before.
Chase! Hope you've had a great day today! Thanks, as always, for all the content.
Rellanas cameo + Rellanas Twin Blades build soon???
Surprised there was no mention of how they fixed the bug with the Stone Spikes spell when on a different elevation from the target as I recall you ran into a few times in the video where you were using a gravity build and commented on it possibly being a bug or unintentional if memory serves.
Chase you can make a series of cosplay invasions
Unsurprisingly, there were no hefty pots thrown this video
Looking forward to the stance build rework!
7:01 So sad, this is my most favourite build so far :(
They buffed the Frenzy Torch, you should try it
Wish they would've fixed the golem fist not being buffed by thr axe talisman
Ngl, *REALLY* wished they hadn't nerfed Radahn at all (I, personally, enjoyed the fight up to ng5 on my main and hadnt gotten to him on ng6 yet before the patch) but seeing as how I mostly do pvp (occasional co-op, gotta do a little giving back to the community now&again, right?) the improvements far outweigh Radahns nerf! Twas a great patch indeed, Chase! Now, we ride at dawn💪😤
Have you even done a video on the twin blades? That would be an awesome vid to see.
A lot of strong attacks got speed up, Nagakiba is insane now
I'm glad I beat the game before the nerfs.
I liked your red-haired character. We need more videos with her!
I’m suprised they left the tooth whip Op.
So still no buff for the dual axe powerstance moveset, awesome.
Off hand katana wasnt possible when i tested with the GK and Nagakiba. Maybe latency, maybe i didnt realize something...
Bro doesn't remember get invasion spawned inside the tree
The Colosseum is gonna be great in the next few days
The return of Obsidisn Lamina
I started using rellanas twin moons right before they got buffs lol
No Madness?
You gotta check out the new colossal weapon crouch r2 and dual wield crouch r2
