I hope within those 5 chapters Overhaul’s story raps up because awhile back Deku did promise to take him to his Boss in exchange he apologizes to Eri. That’s a storyline I wanna see rap up.

I'm happy to say that I’m pretty satisfied with the finale here. Toya isn’t dead yet and had his first real brotherly interaction with Shoto, and while I don’t think Enji’s overall arc was very good, Horikoshi at least managed to end it on a high note where he has a plan to atone for the future. While I wish we got more from the other family members like Rei, Fuyumi, and especially between Natsu and Toya(wish they had more closure), I’m happy that Hori did right by Natsu and had him not forgive Enji and leave. Also, I’m happy Spinner will get potential closure too.

Gentle deserves better. I hope his actions called someone's attention so that they help him get a job and license as a hero. He and La Brava can work for the police from now on or something.
Y’know, while I can’t say Endeavor properly atoned, at this point, there’s not much more he can do when it comes to accepting responsibility. As long as he watches over Touya from now on, that’s gonna have to do. It's also great to see Touya and Shoto finally talking somewhat normally. I’d say something like, “these aren’t the best of circumstances,” but like, with this family, I can’t say I’m surprised. It’s the hellish Todoroki family after all. 😅
I think Endeavor's atonement was well handled. Redemption is a journey and his journey isn't over. With his retirement he can dedicate his time to mending his family as much as possible.
U know,with Deku losing his quirk and Bakugo being permanently weakened after the war,Shoto might end up becoming the Nr.1 hero after graduating,so Endeavour might actually get what he wanted in the end.
This is what they mean about the past coming back to haunt you. As much as Enji has changed for the better, but the reality is this all happened in a span of months maybe a year. His family has suffered under him for years. That's foing to take time, a lot of time, and even then there's no guarantee that he'll be completely forgiven. I do hope he is eventually forgiven as im sure he'll continue to atone. Still one step at a time. Only time will tell.
Hopefully one day the family will heal. I truly do hope Natsuo doesn't become a cynic and depressed man who ends up unintentionally poisoning his children and messes up like Enji and Rei. History repeats to those who don't learn from it.
Especially the fact that kotaro(nana shimura's son) was partly if not half the reason tenko/tomura was who he was and kota(the kid from the camp arc deku saves from muscular) was seemingly on the road to becoming like kotaro.
But hopefully if natsuo has children, he learns from enji's mistakes, because there's the possibility that he'll be bitter enough to project his resentment on a child of his that reminds him of his father.
@@killshotcodx9446 exactly. Kotaro never recovered from his mother's death and it showed. Natsuo could inadvertently create a similar situation of he doesn't get help.
I doubt it. Natsuo moved on and learned from Enji a while ago. Just because he doesn't forgive him or want him in his life doesn't mean that he's destined to repeat any of Enji's acts.

@@frankieseward8667 I mean, he's bound to have trauma still. Poor kid is both an abuse and hostage survivor who willingly went into a warzone to save his brother from his father. That being said, he's already on a much better path than Enji, since he's starting a family for the sake of having a newer, better life, as opposed to being stuck in the past with Enji or having a family for nefarious reasons.

I like that natsuo isn't speaking to endeavor ever again it makes sense, you get abused by a parent you arent obligated to speak to them again or even have anything to do with them because they wabt to change.
And it's a nice change of pace in anime and media in general as abusers usually get forgiven by everyone, and it's forgotten Natuso doing this is completely justified and normal.

Kinda sucks dabi became some killer psycho character because, my dad ignored me and treated me as weaker and flawed, and shot down my dreams of being a hero because my quirk was weaker
I thought his motivation would've been too exposed endeavor for his past why he even had children and ruin his reputation while also using his quirk to beat both endeavor and shoto proving his quirk was the strongest.
This is all in the mindset that dabi doesn't fucking kill random heros for no reason Like the sandman hero
Also dabi what was his quirk again specifically, did they ever say why he had ice because my thought process was
Dabi's quirk: was the ability to control what temperature he emits, becausw all his life he was always trying to burn and turn up the heat, but he never once tried turning it down and shooting out cold, dabi quirk was controlling the temperature of his attack being hot or cold while shoto just had one side hot and the other cold. On the surface dabi wouldn't look like he had cold but after the hair change, dabi could've figured out he had temperature control after he got out the hospital and made a new identity years later, and knew the truth about his quirk
Everything sounds worse when you try to dumb it down tbh. Although I agree with you about him unlocking his ice resistance, I’d have to reread that part because I don’t remember what caused it to unlock.
Dabi always had the Ice/Hot quirk, but Endeavor trained only the fire aspect. I'd suspect all the kids have the same quirk, but Shoto is the only one that was training both aspects. The fact that the ice that Dabi created didn''t melt amidst his flames, to me, means that Dabi likely was the strongest todoroki, if not, the strongest fire and potentially ice quirk user.

2. Uraraka’s closure between Toga and will she confess her feelings to Deku unless he gets a new haircut to fix up his half shaved hair at the end
3. Find out who’s this mysterious person crying (could possibly be Deku’s dad and hoping Deku’s family finally reunited at the end)

5. Deku and Class A finally graduated UA as timeskip could actually happen at the final chapter and Eri plans to sing on UA graduation since chapter 420

Last chapters to a series are usually as long as the first chapters to a series so we'll probably get some decent wrap up. About 55+ pages worth.
So deku only has embers of one for all left like allmight did could he rebuild the quirk like starting from 0 they did something similar in legends of korra where in her final fight with the dark avatar she was cut off from her previous lives meaning she can’t talk to the previous avatars or use there unique bending styles meaning she’s bin reset to 0 like she’s the first avatar of this new era I think somthing similar will happen to deku where this new possible villain who I think is either all for one in a new body or his backup plan cuz he’s stumbling in the streets just like in shiguraki did when all for one found him so I think he knew that there was a chance that shiguraki would either fail or betray him so he found another kid to basically put the embers of all for one into starting from 0 just like deku and creating a problem for the future where deku has to find someone to pass on his power to and train them to fight this new all for one
While Natsuo cutting Enji off is completely understandable, I just hope him trying so hard to not be like him will end up with him being worse than Enji.

By the end of the story he has made peace with his sense of inadequacy, and that has allowed him to turn his greatest strength towards healing the damage he caused to the best extent he can.
Even though he won't be redeemed, even though many will never forgive him, he will forever continue to carry onwards down the road of atonement. He will endeavor.
What a phenomenal character arc.

Just wondering, what is society going to do moving forward? All Might and Endeavor are retired, Hawks chose to become president of the HPSC over being a hero again, and by the time he graduates, it’s likely that Deku will have already used up the last remaining embers of OFA. Who could possibly become the Symbol of Peace after that? Should there even be someone to uphold that responsibility again? Should the idea of this just be abandoned entirely? Honestly, with how things are now, I can’t imagine that there will ever be another hero like All Might (or Deku) ever again.

Someone once said that enji will be forgiven by his family but that will never happen in real when you abuse your family it can lead to scars that cannot be healed just because an abuser regrets there sins doesn't mean they will be forgiven I knew this would happen to endeavor the guy made his family suffer and this is his karma I doubt he will ever be forgiven by natsuo or shota or the rest of his family.
I really hope there’s some major deaths for there to be the 2 major villains down apparently and for us to not have any major characters. Death is pretty disappointing to behonest.

It's not confirmed yet. Actually we never got to see it, unlike we did with all the others who died. There are some aspects some fans interpret as hints so the ending seems to be up for interpretation, maybe.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Based off the doctor saying, "it's a slow march to death", I interpret that to mean anywhere between a couple months and a year or two of life left.
Personally I like leaving it as an open ending. Having Toya reconcile before death with any of his family members is plausible, but would feel unjustified with out a lot of leg work being done. And there's not enough time left for that. Having Toya die still resentful, is also plausible, yet I don't feel it adds anything to the story.
Instead leaving it open ended, leaves the different fan interpretations of Toya's character valid.

I think this ending is Vile and victim blamey as fuck.
Glad Horikoshi hammered home the point that the characters he’s been gearing up to save the entire goddamn series have been dubbed irredeemable and banished to die in the most ironic ways he can imagine. The framework of this series is morally convoluted and pretentious as fuck, and misaligned in that it bends over backwards to validate Enji for suddenly deciding not to be an abusive douchebag, making sure he takes every opportunity to run away like a coward while the side characters gaslight the reader by verbally uplifting him, and saying that the family wants to save the member they scape goated only for him to be condemned to a hellraiser level torture before he dies despite the obvious indications that emotionally he’s always just needed love and attention.
-Dabi needed to pay for his crimes, but considering no one seems to give a fuck about real consequences when it comes to the heroes and rehabilitation was mentioned, it could not have been more clear where the story was going in regards to the League.
You don’t double down on backstories that humanize the villains, give them legitimate grievances, make it clear that they actually want or need help, and then banish them to the shadow realm. What the fuck was that? Is that his way of not having to deal with nuanced endings and characters that take too much effort? Or is he just pandering to all the clowns out there who just wanted to pound them into the floor and be done with it.

All the actions the characters take contradict the inherent morals they talk about trying to accomplish. Even Deku, and then we get Nagant saying they’ll have to see how the world will change after what he showed them. What the hell did he show them? Because they weren’t there, he didn’t save Shigaraki. He fought someone? Wow, what a fresh take from Deku the Saint. We are supposed to believe things will change after they’ve all failed and done essentially nothing but spout pretty words.

Enji is a character that makes no actual progress from beginning to end, and Touya starts an emotionally abused, disabled boy, desperate for love and family, and ends an emotionally abused, disabled boy who will now die while his family gets to move on without him, and absolutely no one in the world seems to give a fuck Enji abused the hell out of his kids and all his sidekicks are there like the ass kissers they are. Enji listening now, while Dabi literally can’t speak, is a cop out on Horikoshi part because if he showed any kind of practical dialogue between them the reader might accidentally realize how shit his writing is and that the whole situation is fucked ten ways sideways. Dabi is sitting there crying over the idea he could have been a decent brother and he wants his family to love him, and yet rather than give him any sort of respect as a human being he feeds us this shit, and half the readers without any kind of comprehension eat it up because they’ve somehow missed the entire framework Horikoshi was working on before this and decided Dabi was a sociopath who deserves to die despite the narrative making it incredibly obvious he was set up for failure.
-Essentially he needed to be saved, and they failed. This is not saving him, this isn’t some ‘oh he’s suddenly human again’ moment, he’s been that way the whole goddamn time and they’ve failed to step up to the plate.
Touya has been running around severely disfigured and with the emotional and mental capacity of a 13 year old brain stunted coma victim, and Enji’s first thought is ‘wah, my son’s a villain, woe is me I can’t deal with it’ instead of ‘Jesus Christ, he must be hurting real badly.’

Reading the series you can pinpoint like ten times where he changed his direction writing this story, and in the end he just rolled over for all the one dimensional fools who wanted a heroes beat villains story instead of addressing all the sociopolitical nuances he set up in the beginning. That’s why he dropped Stain, its why he dropped Stars and Stripes, it’s why he dropped the HPSC, and it’s why he dropped the villains. The Todoroki family was the only interesting thing happening in this manga and he’s somehow botched it so goddamn bad it makes me physically ill.

What they did to Touya is actually sick. If they were gonna kill him there needed to be an actual arc with tact wherein Touya and Enji’s characters come full circle and it could be seen as a proper tragedy by giving them both the respect of touching base and having their sides of the story told in a way that makes it clear where they stand to each other.
- Instead what we got was Enji refusing to even face his son until Touya hunted his bitch ass down, and then Horikoshi shoved Touya onto life support and decided it was terminal for no other reason than he just has to die I guess. The story just bent over backwards doing open heart fuckery on the battlefield to save Bakugou in the biggest assault of the century, but Touya is a villain so Horikoshi flipped him the middle finger.

Enji did not have a redemption arc or an atonement arc, he had a self pity arc, and anyone who can’t see that needs perspective and a few brain cells. It’s too little too late, and not in a good way. Horikoshi has stripped the characters of their agency and dignity and basically condemned them to be exactly where they fucking started except now instead of making Touya the assigned patient scapegoat of the family by neglecting him, we can scapegoat him by killing him. Good job.

The tone of this series is utterly jarring because it acts like it’s accomplished a job well done when none of the characters have done shit to put their money where their mouth is.
