Thank you! I'm in big trouble today as I spent a lot of time creating art for my webcomic. It's beautiful, but I forgot about the size restriction of 800x1280 pixels. My art is 6000 pixels wide! I'm hoping your help will make this painful reducing of the image give me better results. Otherwise I will need to cut up my image into pieces! Thank you so much. I've learned so much from you. much appreciation and affection.
Thank you very much for sharing your information with us. I learned more from you here and I appreciate that. Can the process you explained here help me solve my particular issue? I may be just overthinking it. My biggest issue Is that my laptop is 7 years old. The graphics card is Intel 4000 and not service anymore. The images that I download from my camera and pictures that I get help creating from Midjourney all have missing pixels and jagged edges. I need to purchase a new laptop but I am not able to at the moment. I have been trying to figure out a way to use Photoshop, to make the pictures sharper and lessen the noise without losing detail. Though I am an artist and a good photographer I am not a Photoshop guru yet. Thank you again for this video, it is very helpful.
I have been using photoshop for years, always when I create, make changes or simply resizing, I felt like my body was knotting up through indecision or confusion, because I did not understand how these internal adjustments worked or how they were affecting the work proper. I really feel less stress with decision making now that I have some basic understanding on making changes and preservation of these files. You have saved my nails from being chewed away. :) Thanks very much!
Consistently great tutorials, thank you so much! You explain everything so well by not just jumping into it with assumed knowledge but make sure the viewer is brought up to speed every step of the way. Keep up the good work.
It definitely helps when you explain, not just how to do something, but, why! I like that! I took a 6-Month's PS course (CreativeLive) early on in my PS experience. We discussed Interpolation, but, not for use in practical applications, so much. Time was limited. THIS, however, 'completes' what we were taught! I thank you!
Great education - thank you. With the advent of new PS features such as Enhance and Denoise, could these be considered within the workflow shown 4 yrs ago ?
This video is very timely as I am scanning old family photos. I always use automatic, but, will not use the other options. I expect that the results will be better. Again many thanks.
With this video, I took notes to make sure all these points are remembered. I've been looking for a video like this, and it's great you put it up, here. These are all excellent tips for resizing, which I knew none of this. Thanks, Jesus!
Thank you so much for another great tutorial and thanks for explaining the interpolation methods in depth Jesús. I often wondered about the intricacies of resizing and what they all meant.
That was fantastic information Jesus! I have had to resize some of my images and now I have a much better understanding of how to do so! Thanks a bunch!
Another great video. Just what I need. I volunteer for a local arts organization, and I get really bad low res photos of art all the time that need to be turned into something that won't look too bad in print. This really helps. Never thought to pull down the menu and see what was available except auto. Duh! Thanks.
The concept of resampling is new to me. Thank you. It would be interesting to see what the other resampling methods are used for. By the way, I think that you have great video thumbnails!
Thank you, Jesus, for explaining all this topic so clearly. I had always found this area of PS (and those intimidating Interpolation-Method names!) so unapproachable. Now, all clear as water. Really appreciated this tutorial. 🙏
Have been using the Preserve Details 2 method to blow up images to over 2m for printing and it is very good - I used to use FM interpolation programme but this is significantly better. It also preserves details very well even with strong noise reduction setting.
Great stuff! I've been using PSD since V2.5, and I learned a couple cool features (the snapshot and the 2.0 Upscale option) from this vid. Thank you for always providing clear, concise tutorials!
Hi Jesus, For some reason when I select the layer using select tool, and press Ctrl + T the top bar does not show the interpolation option there. Is there a setting which I am missing using PS 2020
Cool!! I knew about resampling, including for export, but I never used snapshot in the history part, or knew about using Export As. Awesome!! I am loving your channel! :D
Great Tutorial. If you know in advance that you're going to be upscaling your photo, should you process it (including Sharpening) before you upscale it or do the processing after ? Thanks for your help. Darren.
Great style. You explain and show many more details than the video title would suggest. Imam moderately experienced in PS and saw a nr of tricks in this one that are new to me. And being a technical person I prefer to learn something by understanding how it works versus to just what it does. I get the sense that you are that kind of person too. That makes for easy listening for me. Thanks for the great videos. 👍
Damn, I really love your videos man. It's always a great opportunity to learn something new and you do it in the most informative, compact and interesting way. Thanks for doing what you do!
I have Photoshop CC 17 and it doesn't have the "enable preserve details 2.0 upscale" options under the technology setting. Your tutorial is still helpful...thank you.
Hola Jesus, I know you are an expert on this subject so I a appealing for your assistance with my problem. My camera produces 54 meg - 9000 pixel x 6000 pixel images. Without changing the resolution from 300dpi, If I crop out the central part of my image in photoshop to a size of 6000 pixels x 4000 pixels will the quality and detail of each image be the same? when printed? Obviously one image will be larger in size than the other. I am trying to judge if I create original images with high 54meg Raw files, by cropping into the centre of the image can I use this technique instead of buying a longer lens for my camera (ignoring effect of dof) This to me is confusing, please explain. Many thanks
Please let me know if I want to place pictures in photoshop windows to make the door size image ( Which should be 36" x 78") what pixels, resolution and the image size I should use in it? To get the high Definition image after taking the printout.
Very helpful. Thank you. Wanted to know if you can do a tutorial on certain brushes (mix brush, history brush and how they would apply. Thank you once again.
I have Adobe Photoshop CC and even though I went to Edit>Preferences>Technology Previews, I did not have the: Enable Preserve Details 2.0 Upscale choice/option, any ideas on how to solve this issue?

You're awesome. That was exactly what I was looking for!
Another topic - my Clone tool in Photoshop CC 2018 has gone crazy. instead of picking up a disk sample of the original image, it grabs splotches of color from nowhere and deposits those splotches in various colors on the destination point. OR, when using the same Option key to select part of an image, it grabs the whole image and won't let go, and it hovers over the destination image until I quit Photoshop. Furthermore, I could not find how to increase our decrease the size of the pickup area, as I can do with other tools like a paint brush brush. And the same thing happens when I transfer the document to a different computer. Can you fix this? (Adobe Help is difficult to find.)
I am trying to take an image from a 1080x1920 video and then print that image so it is very large (poster size). When I check the pixel dimensions of the extracted image, it is 1080x1920. What is the general pixel size I need to print Large images? 4500x5400? Do I need it larger than that? And why is it my 1080x1920 image looks great even when zooming in on my monitor that is 27inches but information on the internet tells me I would only be able to print very small photos (smaller than my monitior screen) with 1080x1920 pixel dimensions? Thank you for your help?????????????????????????????
That was super helpful! I have a client right now asking to size up a file to print, and I think this will do what he's asking for. My preference is to print the exact file size, especially in a large print. But I just tried it on the file, and it looks pretty darn good. Thank you so very much!!
