Glad you did this video. I’ve wanted to see this as sourcing the LS117IR I have on my home defense setup was hard enough. It’s performed well. Wasn’t able to afford the LS321G at the time but wanted to get something solid to use with my nods.
LE-117IR is solid…ran it at an IR course with some HP PEQ-15’s…sucker was comparable to the PEQ’s…just paired it with a KM2C and used it as an illuminator…held zero even after sitting in my truck for months…plus the laser isn’t off set so with zeroing, it can simply be co-witnessed with the optic
I've seen the LE321G/R in stock before. But it usually sells out pretty fast. The US night vision triad is also OEM'd by holosun, and looks to be a LS321 unit, with the settings of the LE321, and have more adjustment with the IR illuminator size.
I used the LE321R and it really is a good all in one device. It is bright enough for indoor weapon handling. No problem with nods. I had id on a SBR AR15. One of my buddies has the LE420G. Pretty much the same deal exept the flashlight is noticable brighter. Lasers not so much i think.
I threw this on my .300 black out with a M600 Vampire using a unity taps Sync. Its perfect for the dedicated sub gun indoors. I get a nice wash lighting up rooms and a low power laser that doesn't wash out my nods up close.
Lol dude I’ll be Yur friend. I’m in Portland. Just got my Monaco PBS 14 gentle with white phosphorus. And I’m definitely on the market obviously for an IR illuminator and laser. And so far I followed to my my knowledge, all of your videos regarding that particular topic.
I use the LS 117G in USPSA. On rare occasion, we are given targets that are hard to quickly hit by shouldering your PCC and using your optic without stepping out of the shooting area (or putting rounds into a wall). Instead, we have to "hang the PCC out there" away from your body and get hits with the laser. The downside is that you can forget about seeing the laser in bright sunlight at any distance beyond 12 yards.
Your definitely my go to for any review I'm looking for I'm really surprised your channel hasn't blown up yet! Your doing great work I appreciate it! Saved me alot of wasted time and money, would you do a review on the LN-ELIR3? Apparently you can remove a filter to make it a full power Illuminator and I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it
Temping. This would be a good option for my gf’s kit. I’ve built two clone rifles, mines already got a D-BAL and I’m not about to throw that kinda cheddar at her gat.
You gotta get a Holosun 530 elite c whatever, the cool titanium MRO competitor that is probably better than the actual MRO. You know the one that you have repeatedly reputation raped. It would be good to see an alternative to the MRO and Holosun seems to be kicking ass these days.
I have a LS117r and a otal-c. I like them differently. I like the filter I could buy for the otal-c as it reduces bloom if not using an illuminator with it. The LSrr7r lacks this possibility unless Steiner has filters that fit it. They look like they could be close, but I am not buying unless I am sure. I like the switch better on the otal-c too, but honestly, I will replace both switches because they both kinda suck. The otal-c has one of the best qd mounts I have ever used. The LS117r somehow feels of better quality if you disregard the tape switch and qd (which is not bad, but not as good as the otal-c). For the money, I would go with holosun. I got my otal-c for about $350, which is not much more than I paid for my LS117r, but I can not find them for that price anymore. I do not care about visible lasers and will look into a holosun unit that does IR laser and illuminator next. I do not want it to handle white light or visible IR. Wasted space, money, and weight at that point for me.
The misinformation on IR full power lasers *only* being used as an identifier for air assets needs to be put to rest. 1 - Full power is to point the laser into positions that have a high amount of ambient light. Most civilian lasers will get lost when pointed into an area with a high amount of ambient light (think if you live In a more urbanized area with a ton of street lights) 2. If an element gets lost getting to our position, we lasso our lasers up into the sky for a good amount of time until our other ground element can locate us and make their way over to our position. 3 - back into the split element situation - it’s good to identify areas of interest to other memebere of your element so they can see a) what you’re looking at and b) trace the laser back to you so they know where you are…and what angle you’re looking at the area of interest from. When deployed, those blue screws on our Peq15s came out and that bitch was ALWAYS on high power. If we were entering a building where we knew we were gonna get into some shit with dudes, yea. Full power came off and we went low power because of blooming. A lot of the times of shit got hot in a building, you’re not really taking the time to aim properly anyway, your just point shooting into an oblivion until the dude drops. Did we use Ir lasers for air support? Yea I can recall a few times we did but that’s if air support couldn’t make out where we were, was unsure of the location we gave them, we were all idiots and didn’t bring out IR strobes, or cloud coverage just sucked and they couldn’t make out our Ir strobes.
