    Commanders Twitter is a disaster with all the fans dogging Daniels for Maye. I’m definitely team Daniels and taking my biases out Daniels is the better QB then Maye right now and I think 5 yrs in he will still be better. Maye gets compd to Josh Allen and Jayden to Lamar, JD appears to be a better pocket passer and his times are showing a possibly faster runner than Jackson. Maye has the arm but if you’re comparing his footage, he’s struggling against the likes of Duke, NC State and Miami while JD is playing well against Bama, and other SEC teams. Gotta go Daniels at 2

    • @mknewlan67
      @mknewlan67 5 месяцев назад +4

      Also team Daniels. Maye seems like a project and Daniels is a better pocket passer than he’s getting credit for.

      @@mknewlan67 exactly, it’s not like a video game were his pocket passing slider drops because he’s a great runner. Yes Drake didn’t have top level talent but he don’t play against top level talent either and struggled. Imagine Drake playing against Bama or the Dawgs

      same here. The feet shuffling in the direction he’s going to pass with pressure or not is scary to me because DBs will scout that and with his average release speed can be a problem. He has a strong arm but arm talent is good but not great. point me to the direction of the commanders board and i will shut that down with facts

    • @choosecarefully408
      @choosecarefully408 5 месяцев назад

      Better by what? 7 TDs a game? The tape shows they both (well, *all* really) have strengths & weaknesses that whatever team drafts them will have to work within. Some coaches think of QBs with rushing ability as an extra burden. Heck the OC on the Commanders tried to make Kyler Murray stay in the pocket whether he could or not. He didn't care. Johnathan Gannon allowed him to play his way & got better results. So would he be able to deal _with_ Daniels? No.
      He also couldn't win with Mahomes in college.

      This. If Maye is a raw talent in need of seasoning, then taking the extra time to develop him while building a competitive roster is the right answer. If it’s Daniels, you do the same but let him start halfway through the year if the O Line has proven solid enough.

    New England's offence will be "quqrterback friendly", i.e. comprehensible. This applies to recievers as well. They will be able to draft for physical traits rather than intellect and compliance. He'll be alright.

    As a Pats fans you're wrong. Most all of us are ok with Maye sitting 7-10 games to develop. We're pretty irritated at the lack of free agents the Pats brought in. Not even to win now but just help Maye out. Otherwise this will be another Mac situation where we have no WRs or O-Line and poor Maye gonna be seeing ghosts. Signing Smith/Jonah Williams would've been good to help the O-line while we draft a long term answer later in the draft. Getting Calvin would've taken pressure off of whatever rookie WR we end up drafting. The Pats are a mess, let's hope we don't turn into the Jets of ruining QBs so far we're 1 for 1 on that aspect

    One thing I disagree on is your point about JJ not being asked to throw on 3rd down a lot. The reason he didn’t have a lot of attempts is because Michigan was often in a 3rd and manageable and would run it, or if they had the chance they would run against a light box and set themselves up to go for it on 3rd down. When JJ did pass, he was the most efficient and effective passer on 3rd down in all of college football. So yes, you can see it as they don’t trust him, but I think it was more that the play calling was made so that they had more options on each play and could keep the defense guessing

      They could possibly get Fields for less. As much as Omar Khan has made some great moves, it would be Way Smarter to use most of them to trade for a rebuild. The Steelers aren't going anywhere with Pcikens, Freiermouth & Quez Watkins whereas Fields made the crappy Bears the #1 offense in the NFL 3 weeks straight with less _BEFORE_ they acquired D.J. Moore.
      Imagine how much he can elevate a team with JJ, Hockenson, Addison & whoever else they draft, KOC as HC & oh yeah, a team not out to sabotage him? He made them the #1 offense with his own coaches working against him!
      Ginormous missed opportunity. Not only the Vikings. There are 4 or 5 teams he could make into legit contenders, but they already (think that they) have QBs or fell for all the narratives about Fields without looking at the tapes.

    JJ McCarthy is not a mystery guy, he's from Michigan in Michigan runs a pro-style offense what is a pro-style anything? Whatever the pros need to do to win...
    That's what Michigan does
    You're saying, they didn't ask him to do much, because he's a dual-threat quarterback, and Red zone and 3rd and situational moments, that's where a dual-threat quarterback differentiates from a pocket passer, right out the gate, the dual-threat quarterback is the fourth rushing option in those circumstances.
    A dual-threat quarterbacks been out there for many guys come on you guys got to get over this superimposing drop back pastor metrics over a dual threat, that's like comparing a donkey to a stallion.
    We're just in a different day of play
    The reason why JJ McCarthy's stock has risen and some of these other guys including Caleb Williams which has been wavering a little bit, of late especially this past week, is what's been coming out of Michigan's pro day about JJ McCarthy - he's real deal.
    Is JJ McCarthy the best quarterback in his draft, maybe yes he's better than Drake me, he's got less experienced than Jaden Daniels but he's not less skilled than Jaden Daniels, and he's definitely bulkier... As the Caleb williams, both of them are effective runners and both have rockets for arms, advantage JJ McCarthy he's a tad more accurate you guys should know that - where I think Caleb Williams has an advantage is he's more of a situational street style baller...
    If you're doing a hurry up, that's an advantage
    Is a disadvantage to a pro-style huddle signal caller...
    But you guys got to take it easy on the kid, he's worth a lot more than people are giving them credit for by old school drop back measurements, folks that are beating that old shine off and looking at the way the game is played today, that's why his stock is increasing... I'm fine with him being in the NFC North that's where he belongs, I would prefer him in Detroit where Bob Quinn messed up and had a shot at getting Justin herbert, blew it and didn't draft
    now they're in a similar position to maybe move up and get a quarterback, because Jared Goff is not the man, and his o-line is eventually going to get tired of carrying the weight
    If Detroit get angle in a way to get Mikey Sanristil, JJ McCarthy and Blake Corum...
    Which is not impossible, that would be a dynasty in the making right there

      I trust KOC, McCown and Kwesi to take the best guy that they can groom that fits the Vikings. I am no expert but I think McCarthy is their guy. I think they like Maye and he would be a good fit with the Vikings as well but he might require a 3rd first round pick to get and I assume they want to protect that pick and that is why I also have the Vikings taking McCarthy at #5 in a trade with LAC.

    If the Bears don't have the center and guards to fortify protection for Caleb, he's screwed. His height is in the Baker Mayfield category. Colleges knew this and put him on the run. The Notre Dame game is indicative of what's going to really happen with Caleb in the NFL.

    Trade back from #1 and get more picks. Take B.Nix at QB then DE, C and WRs . 🐻⬇

      I'm telling you JD is by far the best QB in this draft. What is the best conference in NCAA Football SEC. Jaden Daniels destroyed the conference, Heisman winner, and had the 2nd best overall QB season in history. It's a no brainer, passer, runner, and IQ.

      @@Spotdogg32 Um I think the SEC wasn’t the best this past year… and JD didn’t destroy the SEC either, LSU had some losses. What he did was impressive, but the difference is Joe Burrow Went all the way and was clearly unstoppable running the offense, JD is able to be schemed.

    Ok Guys, I feel Williams is a no for me and I also see a bunch of guys regardless of how good they played in college the top 5 Guys all are no for me, I would not draft a guy that cries to mommy on a loss or paints his nails and he's a turnover machine. JD tiny guy big NOPE! Another UNC QB? For Real! Hell no ... JJ is maybe a carrier back up or rookie contract and out of the league, Nix is great but if he goes to the wrong QB or OC he'll never grow as a QB, just don't see an All Pro much less a SB Winning QB ... oh and Penix is broken, wouldn't dare draft him, his body is done

    Jayden Daniels is better than Caleb Williams.if you watch him play in the pocket and pressure closes in on him he steps back looks at the whole field before passing.
