I had the AirSense 10 since 2015 and I really liked it. There is nothing wrong with the design. In February of this year I upgraded to the AirSense 11. Everything you said on this video is spot on. I really have not noticed much of a difference between the two machines. I actually kept my old machine for a backup since it was still working. There are 2 differences that I noticed with the AirSense 11. The first is the climate tubing connector. On the AirSense 10 the connector is at a right angle which allows the machine to be closer to a wall. I always thought that was a clever design. On the AirSense 11 the climate tube attaches straight out the back and then must bend sharply. The other difference is with the water tank. On the AirSense 10 the airflow goes across the water in the tank and then out through the tubing. On the AirSense 11 the airflow is directed straight down into the water and then out through the tubing. This makes a subtle change to the humidity level in the tubing.

@@CPAPReviewshow can someone deal with what feels like unnatural breathing while on a CPAP. I tried for a month a model 10 and I rarely could sleep over 2 hours with it. Took 1-2 hours to go to sleep. From what I remember sleep specialist prescription was 4-14 and ramped up as you sleep. I don’t think mine every went over 8 but it felt like I was on a ventilator. I tried 3 different mask. Any ideas? I returned it in a month.

I had a 10 for just over 5 years and they said I could upgrade for free. I got the 11 and after one nights use, I took it back, telling the technician that it would take a breath with each time I took a breath! In other words it was dang noisy!! I had both with me so I could demonstrate them, so he found a new 10 that included the reporting phone system. Ahhhh…. I’m back with a 10, and a happy camper, with a happy wife that doesn’t need to sleep in another room. 😊

I tried the Dream Wear because I liked the swivel connection on top. My beloved Swift II didn't have that and now never will apparently.
The problem I encountered with the DW was it channels the air flow through the hollow cheek "straps" of the headgear itself. Hearing the air rush through the mask next to my ears all night was a no go for me. You may want to consider that. The similar design Air Sense nasal pillow mask SEEMS TO have those "straps" a bit further forward on the cheek and be less noisy. Haven't tried it on, just going on how it seems to fit the man in their video demo. We'll both see in time I guess.

Thanks for the review. I currently have an Airsense 10 and have had it for almost 5 years. In the past several months, the pressure has been getting weaker and weaker. Obviously it's probably aging and time to replace it. Previously I had a Phillips Respironics System One that lasted about 7 years before it gave up the ghost. The Airsense 11 seems interesting and while added tech and connectivity is newer, as you indicated it doesn't mean better. For a $800 difference, I may just get another Airsense 10 if it's still available.

Thank you for your contributions. I really enjoy this channel !
I had the model 10 until about a year ago when my insurance upgraded me to the 11, and I have 2 main complaints about the 11: First, the water chamber has a weird shape and spills water when I’m filling it. Second, you have to really slam it home when you put it back into the unit, otherwise when it powers on air leaks out all around it.
I do like the auto on feature, though !

I find that the 11 is smoother more natural feeling, quieter with less vibration. They are very close, but for me the 11 is better. One point for the 10 is the water chamber and filter housing are for more robust.

My A10 was an original that came off the line in spring 2014. When you say that the A10 and A11 have exactly the same algorithm, that's not true because the early A10's and the later A10's have different algorithms. I used a 2018 vauto for awhile and it made a huge difference, but I only realized after I used an A11 that all of the difference was between the first and second AirSense algorithms. The big difference for me is that the early A10 (which I think is actually the S9 algo) measures much higher flow limitations, which drives pressure up. I keep my minimum pressure on the A10 at 7 (EPR 3). Within a few minutes of falling asleep, my pressure is at 9-10 and never drops below 9 as long as I stay asleep. With the A11 I had to set my minimum pressure to 9; when it was 7 I would have an occasional very long OA (45-70 seconds) which would drive my SpO2 down into the low 80's or even 70s, and leave me with a raging headache the next day.

As soon as my 10 starts getting noisy, I take it to a Resmed dealer and get the machine sent back to Resmed under warranty. The dealer always says 'it sounds pretty normal to me' (but this is to be expected in a daytime ambient noise office space; it's hugely noisier than a dead-silent room at night). Every time, the Resmed service agent comprehensively tests it and essentially replaces the entire guts of the machine, just leaving the shell and water chamber. I've had this done three times under warranty now! I've been reasonably happy with the 10 -- the silicon gaskets between the water chamber and the machine inevitably deform as well causing noise, but they get replaced along with the rest of it...

i have an aircurve 10. seeing how mines a bipap and this is cpap they are still the same basic machine. i se no real sense in upgrading for a few fancier features. i hate that these machines are 24 volt. i kept my respironics as a backup for power outages and camping as i can run off any 12 volt battery whether its lawnmower car boat whatever. another thing i found is resmeds auto start is also an auto stop. come to find out i was getting large leaks and the machine was stopping then restarting. since i turned that off i sleep much better. and the funny thing is i had smileys on the machine. seems it only captures large small leaks if that setting is on. oh and the filters are mere afterthoughts in these machines.

I just got my 10 two months ago so there'll be no upgrade for a long time. I paid $2,200 for the 10 and $1,300 for the airmini since we do a lot of travel. Ouch!
I'm still working on getting the benefit with drop in o2 below 90% for a couple of hours still happening, even though I get the useless data like smiley faces.
I rely on my smart watch to give me better graphs.
I've had 2 nights with only minutes less than 90% and the difference in the morning was incredible. Alas it doesn't happen often enough yet.

Resmed sends me messages when I'm on holiday to say that they haven't seen me use my machine, ha, ha. You can also take the 10 travelling, by buying a side plate and remove the humidifier or take as is, and source the distilled water.
My mini has the drawer bracket and the bed strap so I can secure it in place either way. It's so light and can drop as you move about if you don't use any bracket.

Video from Nicko is one way. What I do is just clean the mask every morning. Just treat it as a meal and wash the dishes after your meal. All it needs is a dab or dish detergent (I use the green Palmolive) rub it down with your hand and ensure there is lather on the soft rubber sides. Rinse and use a paper towel to dry it off and set it aside for the night use. As for the other parts, just get a replacement in 6 months. The machine, just wipe down with a towel and remember to change out the filters. At the tube connection piece, I usually put a ziplock bag to ensure prevent any crawlers into the tube, just an insurance plan and not worrying breathing things in. For thr machine concerns of crawlers, I have a filter bulb between the machine and tube. That should stop anything getting through as well.

DO NOT GET THE AIRSENSE11, IT IS A PIECE OF $HIT! if you tug the hose even a little bit while you are sleeping, it comes loose and leaks, or does not heat up and you get mega rainout. The water chamber is full of little squares and grooves, it is very difficult to clean and the plastic seems cheap, I can see lots of people breaking the poorly designed hinge. It is very, very difficult to get the setting set right. There are so many algorithms that try to control your breathing, it actually causes apneas. Worse, if you are a shallow breather at times, it just stops, you wake up gasping for air. It is causing me more problems and headaches than I would have not using it. I have had this machine now for just under 9 months, and I am dead serious when I say, It really is a piece of $hit, get something else.
