During Green Is The Colour, David Gilmor forgets the lyrics and sings "white was the light that shines through the dress that you wore" twice =P. Still sounds amazing live.
No band mutated more in a span of ten years than Pink Floyd (Only the Beatles were close). Just a mere 10 years after this, they were putting out The Final Cut, which showcased Water's largely spoken poetry set to acoustic guitar. And then there was all the thematic and dramatic stuff between. And it all more-or-less worked!
Not exactly 10 years - "the final cut" was released in 1983 - but i get your point.

MatzeMumpitz You're probably right. I don't know Genesis like I know Floyd; Genesis was always a band that I respected and liked but never felt compelled to buy or know in depth. I think Fleetwood Mac really changed a lot as well owing to the dynamic of different line-ups. The Beatles changed with the times and not owing to line-up changes.
i don't know...the beatles started out w/love me do.....compare that with Helter Skelter/Come together/Revolution, etc....that's quite a difference....Pink Floyd always seemed to stick with that sublime, chilled-out sound that could put you in a trance if you weren't careful.
Freaking Gimour is one bad-ass when he does that vocal shit...........I love that mans voice. Thanx so much for sharing. I cant get enough of Gilmours voice. IT'S SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a phenomena- all the English drummers of this era were awesome---- Keith, Nick, Mitch, etc..etc..all of these bands thrived on the blues......
Wowwww ! Huge huge fan since 35 years (french fan, yep !), I NEVER saw (or even heard about) this amazing live film !!!!
Where does it comes from, Yorch Cobain ?!... This is really a very rare footage of the band ! (during their legendary "Atom Heart Mother" period, the one with the famous "Lulubelle III" cow on the front sleeve... ).
There's no light show or spectacular visual effects here, but... it sounds so creative and so intense. Pink Floyd Magic, still "palpable" 44 years later !

This is art at its finest. Everyone of them adds to the sound, every note is perfectly placed and with purpose behind it. I'm astounded.

Amazing! The vocals, and guitars, there are sounds coming from them that are in humane! They are so cool, and relaxed, they're just jamming. And David Gilmour what a freaking hottie back then!

Great clip. Their stage setup / look, lighting and the shots of the playing venue remind me of the "Live at Pompeii" footage, almost like a prototype (Roger even had the same gong...).
Wow! I wonder how many stuff is still not known .....
I hope one day a dvd box set is going to be on sale with all those footage ;-)

+John Smith Correct. But it wasn't entirely Floyd's fault. There were a lot of "prog rock" bands by that point--Yes, Genesis, ELP, Supertramp, etc. it was really an oversaturation; too many bands trying to do big, overblown things; the whole thing was becoming a parody of itself. They saw as something that became too overplayed. And they weren't wrong. But the Sex Pistols themselves were a manufactured band to some extent, so it's not like they had a lot of room to talk. LOL

Post Roger's scream at Careful with that Axe is the pinnacle of Mason's drumming hands-down. The guy puts EVERYTHING he has into it. If someone can point me to a better example, good luck with that haha

From 21:10 looks like a initial version of Echoes. Gilmour guitar is almost the same.
Pink Floyd are like a continuation of Schoenberg and Stockhausen. They have a more similar musical sensibility and artistic integrity to modern orchestral music than so much of the fickle and fast paced pop scene!

Great concert but I wouldve fired the Director and Camera Crew.
Blurry closeups, horrible cuts, basically Ignore David the entire time.
we have so few shows to see them play and they blew it!

Mr Gilmour is very reclusive these days and more so back then, he wants you to listen to the music not watch him, very shy and retiring, so the cameraman may not be to fully blame for the lack of footage of him
