I didn't see that! I wish they would all do that. I truly don't believe that the founding fathers meant foul language to be included in free speech. I'll be back again.
That’s a blessing riding with your dad and uncles. My mom just turn 79 and 3stage cancer survivor thanks God she is still here with us. She rides two up with me. Not to much long distance anymore cause of health conditions. But she loves riding with me a lot, she really enjoys riding in the back seat and she enjoys taking pictures and videos and enjoying the views. That is the best riding memories we share together! It’s a movie……
I'm glad you're getting to take a trip with your Dad. I take my Dad on every trip I take. He passed last year and he loved his Harley. And when it came time to decide whether to sell it or learn to ride I braved it and now I can't get off the thing. Never rode a bike in my life and started out on his 99 Ultra. Love your videos and your spirit. Just hearing your outro got me into the mindset and I'm just glad you're having that experience. Keep doing what you do.
“Get out and ride your bike” I didn’t buy mine for the Instagram and enjoying what these beautiful bikes can do makes memories and builds confidence with every mile.
I’m a tall fellow as well and have applied many of your suggestion (which have worked out well!!). The one thing I did that I have not heard you mention is foot board spacers. Pushes each side out about an inch and what a difference it makes. So comfortable. You should give it a try. Thanks for all the great videos. Be blessed!!!!
This has to be one of the best video I have ever seen on taking a long trip. I recently began riding again after a 35 year break from riding and surviving terminal liver Cancer. I have an 800 mile your coming up in June from Sioux Falls, SD to Colorado Springs. You and I are the same height, but I am 66 years old. I do not own a Harley, but a Victory Vision Premium Tour. Most of your suggestions will work on my bike, except my seat is already excellent. A roll bag behind will would do the trick as a backrest and would be easy to secure. I visit and work with Hog members all over my state. Hopefully our paths will cross someday. Thanks and keep 2 on the road.
Now this is what's up...We are long distance freaks. We ride Wings and but this apply to all riders. We have been on many cross country BikeCations. We usually don't watch video that are bike specific ie this tittle, however this is advice/tips is for long trips, no matter the bike. Great video Tall, love it. Next time you are in Northern Cali, Look us up, If we are home, we would love to roll with you and family.
Another awesome video, Tall! Thanks for the good info you put on your videos. It is wonderful that you get to ride with your Dad, your Uncle and your other family members. Making those memories!! Ride safe and enjoy!!! God bless.
What are you using that show the compass, MPH, etc.? Can you download waze to the Harley or do you have your phone synch to the Harley Nav.? I agree FULL FACE is the way. I just recently bought a new Modular LS2 Variant II helmet that will let the front part of the helmet flip back behind your head. The clear shield will stay down to protect your face some. I have not used it yet, because it has been to cold to ride. I thought this would be good for riding in stop and go, bike rallies, so you can be a little cooler and have a 3/4 face helmet. I have been using a modular since 2013. I have 2015 Street Glide Special. I am hoping by March or April 2023 it will be a Kevin Baxter 117 Skunk Works build. Look like you are heading toward Knoxville TN? Beautiful ride that way. I notice you kept it around 70 -72 Mph. When I go on long rides I try to keep it between 2600 - 2900 RPM's. I have found that when you start turning these motors over 3000 and up gas mileage drops to 37 - 38 mile per gallon. Between 2600 - 2900, 41 - 43 mpg and your are still at a good cruising speed. I enjoy the ride, I wish I had been there following you. I lost my best friend and riding buddy in June 2021 to cancer. We met in the ninth grade 1970. 50 years. He rode a Victory Vision and rode no less than 75000 to 90000 miles a year going nowhere. Just enjoying the world. We used to Ride from Cartersville GA to Pigeon Forge to eat, and back home just to ride. Have a Bless Day, and remember never leave home without Jesus in your heart!
Hey there Tall. I just got back from a 5200 mile road trip. Started in Ohio. Rode around the smokies for a few days. Headed down to key west. Up to New Orleans then up the Natchez Trace then back to Ohio. I really enjoyed the Moonshiner 28 below Franklin, Joyce Kilner forest, Cherohala skwy. and the foothills pkwy. You are blessed to have a great family.
Thanks for reminding about Waze. I’m 72 and still riding good. I started on a mini bike at 13 yrs. old. I have a a Harley Street Glide Special denim black. I only have 31.000 on it. She looks and runs like new. My son and I do all the servicing on it except for the fork fluid, I brought it in for that. I really enjoy watching your videos and I also watch Jerry P from Florida. I’m on the east side of the State. Also Robert Simmons is good also.
I've been wearing earplugs for a few years and it reduces the fatigue of wind noise and I feel a lot more fresh at the end of 400-500 miles. I can still hear what's going on around me, but it does lower the decibels. Nice vlog.
Great video! I love the fact that you are doing what you love in your leisure time making memories with your dad and uncle. God blessed, stay safe, and always keep two wheels down! 👍🏾
Thats awesome your dad's still riding at his age I hope I'm able to at his age. As for getting out and enjoying the bikes I agree, I'd rather take a rode trip on my SG than my truck any day. Stay safe and have a blessed day!
I appreciate you for having a family friendly channel. You’re one of the few I can watch with my kids. They’re in elementary school, but they love bikes. 👊👍🏻
I just got home yesterday from a 1500+ mile weekend trip. It was my first road trip on my ‘21 Ultra Limited. The one thing that I haven’t added/changed is highway pegs. I had to use my lowers to stretch out my legs several times. I will be buying highway pegs this week.
My major problem on the long rides is my neck and shoulder since I had surgery a couple years ago because you don't turn your head much on the interstate unless you're passing someone I just rode last month from North Carolina down to Daytona for bike week and back on my 2004 Road King Classic and it was awesome
Just a suggestion as I am a long haul biker, consider your helmet weight as this makes a big difference along with any wind buffeting. Maybe lighter helmet and higher windshield for long trips. My wife has major issues and I can feel it after a few days of non stop riding. Enjoy!
Also taller bars. I used to get neck and shoulder pain with my StreetGlide stock bars. Went to some higher bars, just at the top edge of the fairing. Helped loads with the comfort.
I have a pair of custom molded ear plugs that I picked up at the rally in Laughlin a few years ago. I only wear them on longer rides, or anytime I'm on the highway. I find I can hear sounds better with them on. You can hear your music/navigation, cars, emergency vehicles. Especially good if your pipes are loud. Jmo. I really appreciate the way you talk in your videos, it's like shooting the breeze with a friend, and that you keep things positive!
My wife being short would like mid controls on her sportster. I feel it will help her in the turns. Of course auxiliary lights to make a triangle shape to help cars see her at night. Plus her headlight is mounted pointed downward. I am looking to add auxiliary lights on my Buell. And changing to some bigger blinker lights. Also looking to get small air compressor.
Very wise words Tall. I've got the Honda Goldwing tour and I could go across the states but never do distance with it. Downloaded Waze thank you..I'm 60 now and its time to be on the bike. It's a lifestyle that cannot be beaten. You inspire me daily.
Good tips I do almost all of those mentioned. Always have rain gear because I learned the hard way. Check tire pressures for sure! Keep hydrated to prevent cramps.
Nothing wrong with wearing earplugs I've been doing it for years I can hear sirens through them without problems. I started wearing them as I suffer from tinnitus. Keep up the good content!
I enjoy your vlogs and wish you and family the best!!! You have the only Afro-American family I've seen truly riding around the country. I truly envy you and hope to ride with ya sometime. Peace and smiles!!
I recently got a 08 street glide. I’m originally from WV but living in GA and I want to ride from GA to WV and thankfully I will be able to clothing and other items in a family member’s car so I won’t have to worry about that. I’ll keep rain gear extra visor, gloves, and a few other things with me.
You said it Tall “we buy these Tour bikes with all these bags and we should just get them out and ride them”. Thanks for sharing this video and sharing the joys of just getting out and riding them.
I know I'm discovering late but, nice and real videos. And loving the family rides! Make the memories as you can and cherish them! Only wanted to ask if you could shine a light on the details for the HUD in this video. I Love it. Keep them coming, I'll catch up to through your library, your content is sincerely appreciated.
Just ran across you video. Great job! Fixing to take a long ride next weekend on my tri glide. I'm 69 and really enjoy it. I bought that bike over a year ago with 5000 miles on it I now have almost 20000 on it now. Safe rides!
Agree with get em out and ride em.we do big trips always.never do the town riding thing unless at a rally.got some friends that rip touring bikes around town and hang in parking lots.they give black lab looks at the practical stuff for doing long rides.but everything i have is detatchable.i didnt buy my bike to sit in parking lots or at stop lights....i have a 19 cvo street glide.it can be stripped down to look like a hot rod in a matter of minutes.and can be set up to cover a 5-7k trips comfortably in a matter of minutes.keep up the good content bud!
I'm setup for long rides. Of course, I started with an Ultra Limited. Suspension, windshield, helmet, backrest, highway pegs... etc. I plan to ride. I do ride. I will say the first thing I put on my bike is highway pegs. Next, and often at the same time, is more lights on the back. I've had a friend who passed away from getting hit from behind. I want my bike to be bright and clear from the back. Then, we go from there.
I love taking road trips on my bike. I have several friends that only ride to work or maybe a couple hours on the weekend, I keep telling them they don’t know what they’re missing. Road trips also gives you experience in all kinds of adverse weather, I usually just plow right through any rain unless it’s so torrential I can’t see. I live in the north east and have to deal with winter, but I since road trips taught me not to fear cold, wind, or rain, I get a couple more months of riding in these parts.
Great tips brotha! As far as leg positions go, I like to flip down my passenger pegs and put my feet back there temporarily (like sport bike style position). Helps to stretch out the thighs and such. Ride safe!!
Love your channel brother. Get on your bikes and ride! I started riding with 3/4 helmets in the 70's but have had several types of bikes and helmets. After last year and riding through several hail storms I am re thinking my helmet choice. I just feel confined in the full face version of. Anyway the helmet I want isn't available due to the pandemic so it might be a while before I change out. Lots of good tips for long distance rides. Thanks for sharing.
Tall your so right about the FF helmet. More refreshed, not beat up by the wind and safety just to mention a few. So many good tips brother....... Ride hard or stay home😎
I agree get out make memories. I have a 2019 Streetglide with +90,000 miles. Every year I do a epic trip to Sturgis from omaha Nebraska. But on our way we travel to California and do the pacific cost highway to Washington before Sturgis. 5k miles in 7 days. Great memories every time.
Speaking of pants - Larry likes his Diamond Gusset jeans. They are made in the USA. We buy from the storefront on the square in Lynchburg, TN. Their signature gusset makes them uniquely comfortable and some of their jeans have Kevlar.
anti fog lense is called a pinlock. I have one also, and they do work well. Never had a fog issue with it even in cold weather!! Great video my man, I enjoy watching your channel!
Great video. I use eargasm ear plugs, they act like noise cancelling headphones in that they take all the high Db sounds such as wind, etc and brings it down to a normal range. You can still hear your engine, traffic, etc and still save your hearing
Couple things.. I never leave the house for a ride without earplugs. And listening to you talking about your pants snagging on the peg reminds me of pulling up to a light and my boot lace loop was over the shifter peg...yaa. Hand break - right foot down. Wow. Use small loops on your boots. Lol. Life is short, enjoy the ride. God bless brother
I've been riding for 58 years. A lot of his suggestions are spot on. I'd almost swear it was me doing this video. As an IBA member (#71077), I have learned many things for long rides over the years without a radio. Using earplugs is mandatory for me. Bottom line is this: out on the road is great wind therapy.
Think the visor thing you are talking about is a Pin lock. Installed one this spring and it's a game changer. No more riding with the visor cracked in the cold. So freaking nice.
MAN TALL,HAVENT BEEN OVER 1OO MILES YET,BEATIFUL RIDE THIS MORNING JUST GOT THE 128 KIT INSTALLED LOOKING FORWARD TO HITTING THE ROAD,THANKS FOR THE HELPFUL TIPS,BLESS U BRO,KEEP LOOKING UP! COWBOY HARVEY HOUSTON
Are you going 70 or interstate 80? Either way prepare for weather. Check out my Wyoming video, we rode there two years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I've never had a communication device in my full face I think it would be nice, with that said was coming back from Sturgis and started getting light headed come to find out when I realized it my exhaust was getting up under my fullface it was a little scary I lifted up my visor and got clear headed pretty quick something to think about. Love your video and comments it's cold here and so I'm getting my ride in by watching you thanks brother 👍
I'm also a tall rider @ 6'4. I have tried 3 seats and I agree that the le pera daddy long legs is the best for tall riders. I also switched my brake pedal to a low profile extended. Total game changer! No longer have to lift my leg to brake. Ride safe.
Your awesome need to get my wife’s approval we us to ride years ago had a venture 1300 touring brother got hurt on his and later died from accident I ended up selling it years ago in 69 now look at street or road glide. Like I said trying to get her on board. Great vid safe travels
You’ve got to be one of the nicest moto guys on RUclips. Down to earth and you’ve got your life priorities straight. Road trips. Good times!
Family matters! Tall is a great example of counting our blessings!
I appreciate the comment. Thank you. Thanks for watching. 😊
You are blessed to ride with your pops and uncle 😀
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Everytime his pops is with him I think the samething.
Tall you need to go to Bayside Harley Davidson near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA.
Thinking the same thing. Wish I had my pops to ride with!
Wow…So true. Treasure the time bro

I love the Cruse control on the motorcycle
It keeps me from wanting to speed
2021 street glide
Love it
I appreciate you for having a family friendly channel. You’re one of the few I can watch with my kids. They’re in elementary school, but they love bikes. 👊👍🏻
I am loving this heads-up display in your video!
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
@@TravelingTall It's really cool, how did you do that?
I just got home yesterday from a 1500+ mile weekend trip. It was my first road trip on my ‘21 Ultra Limited. The one thing that I haven’t added/changed is highway pegs. I had to use my lowers to stretch out my legs several times. I will be buying highway pegs this week.

Enjoyed your video - my grandson just started riding and your right - build the memories
Jmo. Good tips I do almost all of those mentioned. Always have rain gear because I learned the hard way. Check tire pressures for sure! Keep hydrated to prevent cramps.
About to take off on my Street Glide for a 7 day, 3000 mile trip. Thanks for the tips
I love your videos sir. You don’t make me feel stupid and I always learn something 💕
Nothing wrong with wearing earplugs I've been doing it for years I can hear sirens through them without problems.
I started wearing them as I suffer from tinnitus.
Keep up the good content!
👍💯 Thank you. Thanks for watching.
I can hear my music better with my plugs in than without. And no ringing when I get off the bike at the end of the day.
Ya agree as I have custom made and still hear my tunes ar speed, as it is wind noise on ling trips that can be a real problem!
And I just finally got my dream bike…street glide!!! I couldn’t be more happy!!!
I enjoy your vlogs and wish you and family the best!!! You have the only Afro-American family I've seen truly riding around the country. I truly envy you and hope to ride with ya sometime. Peace and smiles!!

Tall, you seem like a real genuine guy and probably cool to hang with. I hope to see you out there some time. Safe travels!
I know I'm discovering late but, nice and real videos. And loving the family rides! Make the memories as you can and cherish them! I like the windshield Simmons put on his....I like your channel....a lot of good info and more importantly you seem like a righteous guy.
I love the display. Very innovative and seems to make your viewer even more involved.
Agree, wondering what it is?
I watched the whole video and I love to ride!!! This is my first HD 2022 SG and I love it!! Thanks Tall!!!
Great video...safe travels for you, dad, and uncle.🙏🏽
Thanks for watching Adrian
Agree with get em out and ride em.we do big trips always.never do the town riding thing unless at a rally.got some friends that rip touring bikes around town and hang in parking lots.they give black lab looks at the practical stuff for doing long rides.but everything i have is detatchable.i didnt buy my bike to sit in parking lots or at stop lights....i have a 19 cvo street glide.it can be stripped down to look like a hot rod in a matter of minutes.and can be set up to cover a 5-7k trips comfortably in a matter of minutes.keep up the good content bud!

I thought I was the only one who did that…
Short and sweet - loved the video. Makes me want to get out there on my heritage 114, but man it's cold now.
Right On Brother!!!!!
Blessings to You and Your Family and Thank You for sharing!!!!!
Good morning, Tall! This is a great video. What a great way to be a positive, impactful ambassador for " Gliding"! Good stuff!
I always wear earplugs and I can hear surrounding noise better because it blocks all the wind noise.
Same for me specific sounds are easier
Right !!!! ruclips.net/video/2XP_qr9NNcc/видео.html 1:56 - 2:52
Hi TT from Australia, yes, I watched the whole video. What a refreshing point of view, loved your rant, should do it more often, big fan of yours....
90k is some serious riding in that time frame. Any issues with the bike in that duration of time?
I've watched some of your videos but this one made me subscribe. Just got a street glide and looking forward to going for some long trips.
I love those long trip videos you make, they are so peaceful.

Yes using a bar of soap does work well. I have used dish detergent as well. Rub it into the faceshield then rub dry with a soft towel
anti fog lense is called a pinlock. I have one also, and they do work well. Never had a fog issue with it even in cold weather!! Great video my man, I enjoy watching your channel!
You can brake with your heel while foot is on highway pegs !
Try it.🤠
Works best with an extended brake pedal. I have a PM brake lever.
👍💯 Thanks for watching Tony
Really enjoyed that 25 mins with you made some great points, differently the last one get out and ride.... Be safe out there...
I miss living and the scenery of the east TN area, looking to retire there when uncle Sam sets me free. LUV the vid TALL.
Nice. Have fun tall. I can't wait for my first long distance trip
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I always wear a full face helmet. Nothing like doing 65 and do a face hit with a June bug, plus the safety aspect of protecting your face as well.
Loved the video. I could watch videos like this all day and will till the day I get my own bike. Then I will be riding to much to watch videos.
For the jeans, I have been buying from Diamond Gusset for years as extra space for the sac 😎 check them out online as lots of styles and any size.
Building those memories traveling on the road...I totally agree👊🏾

I like your videos every time you ride!
Actually I like all of your vids! Keep them coming.
I really appreciate it. Thanks for watching Tourist
Always keep something over your arms especially when the sun is beaming down
👍💯 Thanks for watching
You post some really good tips. Thanks.
And I love your style. Great personality, pleasant voice and just seem like an all around likeable guy.
Think the visor thing you are talking about is a Pin lock. Installed one this spring and it's a game changer. No more riding with the visor cracked in the cold. So freaking nice.
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
My helmet is set up for pin lock. I just need to get a lens for it. Today’s ride was miserable with constant visor cracking to clear fog in the cold.
@@TeensierPython Go for it! The difference is amazing.
Tall, I really enjoy your videos man! You are so passionate in everything you do. Keep up the great content!
You can wear ear plugs and still hear what's around you. Sure fire ear plugs are good for keeping the noise down.
👍💯 Thanks for watching Spencer
Heading from WV to WY in June. I appreciate this video. Ride safe brother
Are you going 70 or interstate 80? Either way prepare for weather. Check out my Wyoming video, we rode there two years ago. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great tips! We were just near here Saturday on our way back from the beach. You missed a fantastic sub sandwich in Wallace NC. Travel safe
Good info, Tall, thanks! Great reminder about the benefits of just simply getting out there and riding our Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Great video Tall, watched it on the 75” wow the quality and such a beautiful day bro wish I was out there with you guys.
👍💯 Thanks for watching
you can generally still hear plenty with non-music ear plugs. foam kind are the most comfortable.
First time I ever watched one of your videos. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the advice
Thanks for watching
I've never had a communication device in my full face I think it would be nice, with that said was coming back from Sturgis and started getting light headed come to find out when I realized it my exhaust was getting up under my fullface it was a little scary I lifted up my visor and got clear headed pretty quick something to think about. Love your video and comments it's cold here and so I'm getting my ride in by watching you thanks brother 👍
Looks like a great day for a ride. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for this video, I'm starting to travel further and further, someday I'd love to travel from NJ to Cali. Maybe when I retire.
Really glad you got 124 fixed from sumping!! Ride safe and smart, prayers for you and your family!!
Thank you. Thanks for watching.
You can use dawn dish soap for anti-fog, use it on my SCBA mask at work and it does really well.
No Tall your awesome my man. Keep up the good work. And enjoy your ride my brother.
Great advice and video. Hey and vivid black and chrome are the only two colors that never go out of style. Take care.
I put a 7" windshield on my 14 street glide, took the buffing away. Keep up the great vids
I'm also a tall rider @ 6'4. I have tried 3 seats and I agree that the le pera daddy long legs is the best for tall riders. I also switched my brake pedal to a low profile extended. Total game changer! No longer have to lift my leg to brake. Ride safe.
One of my favorite videos! I watched the entire thing.
Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it.
First time bike owner. Been enjoying your videos. Bought a Fat Boy a month ago and already looking at touring bikes for a second bike 😂

@@TravelingTall Very cool video. Thank you for sharing it. I especially like the camera work. What are you using to get the HUD info displayed?
