- In this episode I do an honest review of a ceramic air pump. The ultra silent micro Hygger air pump. This little pump is very quiet and wouldn't know it's running l.
The pump is a Piezoelectric Ceramic Air Pump that doesn't have a motor.
The pump is under 25 dollars and comes with a air stone , clip, and toobing. I put in through its paces and see if this little micro pump can run a sponge filter or a huge air stone.

Hi Chris! The operating system of this micro air pump is really interesting. For small to medium aquariums it is very good, for those who have many aquariums in my opinion a centralized system with an air compressor or membrane or piston would be much better if you have many aquariums in a fish room. That's an interesting little air pump. I've never heard of a ceramic one, I've also never seen an air stone that big! 🙂👍
I have several of those air stones . I swear by them..
I had never heard of these pumps before but they have been around a while. They would make a good Beta tank pump or raising brine shrimp.
@@stubbsaquatics6080 I guess I do have a larger one, but it's disc shaped. Yeah I bet that air pump would be great for a betta or the brine shrimp!
How is it holding up
@@stubbsaquatics6080 the disc shaped air stone? Going strong for at least 2 years, no clogging or issues.

I will be using it strictly for that I think .. who knows.. it's always good to have a small unit like that even if you were traveling and needed to hook it up to an inverter

Nice review buddy! Got myself a symylar one but after a year there is not mutch air comming out off it anymore... Think the pump is wearing down a bit. Gues we Will have to check back on the pump in one year to see if it still goos solid

They have been using piezo crystals in fuel injectors for years, so it is a proven technology. Great review Chris, it is good to see the pump in action.

Another good review of an interesting product. My question regarding its performance is how deep can the air stone be and still get a decent air flow? Your jar looked to be about 12" deep but would you get similar results at 18" or 20"? Just wondering.
The jug is almost 14 inches deep.. it would do a 16 inch tank but I didn't test it in a big tank.... I guess I should have but maybe I will later .. Thanks Ken.. How is the leak

😲😲😲😲🤯🤯🤯 when I hear aquarium products claim they're silent I think "oh yeah as loud as silent can be right?" that's undetectable whoh. course now im so used to the noise I can't sleep without it 😂😂 and see this is why I love your reviews you somehow read my mind on how it would hold up with a giant air stone worked pretty well thats a solid small air pump for sure!!
