Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Water Type Pokémon I find on each route; This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Water types, but does NOT include non-Water Pokémon that evolved from Water types!
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's ace (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

I think we've hit a crazy point. I remember back when we hit the milestone of not having to explain what a nuzlocke is, but not even having to explain what a hardcore nuzlocke is just wild.
I still don’t know the rules or deviations of what those challenges mean/ are.
@@T725db If you want to know in detail, you can check out some of Flygon's oldest videos where he explains exactly what a nuzlocke is, and what a hardcore nuzlocke is. You do need to understand the basics of pokemon games for it to make sense though.
If you want to know without watching another video, then a nuzlocke (not hardcore) has only two rules: you only get one pokemon per route (or region for newer games), and if any pokemon faints it is dead and can never be used again.
A hardcore nuzlocke has extra rules added to make it harder, which ones are used and how they apply depends on who's doing the nuzlocke and what they want to achieve. Flygon's rules can change slightly between videos, so if you want to know which extra rules he's using this time, check the description of the video.

@@T725db Basically: A Nuzlocke is a playthrough where you can only get a single pokemon per route and if they die they're unusable for the rest of the playthrough, and a Hardcore Nuzlocke adds the rule of not being able to overlevel past the next Gym Leader/last Elite 4/Champion's ace (highest levelled pokemon in their party) before their fight. there are a few other rules you can use too like banning the usage of all status-raising moves, etc., everything to make the game as hard as you want.

@@darkestlight660 I did mention that. But sometimes a rule might not make sense or might need explaining. For example, the rules might state that species/dupe clause is in effect, but they don't usually explain what that is.
I do appreciate how BlackWhite made an effort to focus on an entirely new roster and made for some delightful monsters like Eelektross and Haxorus. I think it could've made some adjustments to the types for greater variation; in example, giving Gothitelle Dark and Reuniclus Poison to better diverge from Musharna and Beheeyem, but overall it was a fun time. What would you have liked it to do in retrospect?
I played B/W at launch and I was underwhelmed because the “reboot” just felt like the series had turned into an imitation of itself. So I guess what I would have done is to avoid doing a near 1-for-1 recreation of gen 1 and try and give gen 5 its own identity instead 🫠

Ahh I’ve been so excited for this run!! Black and White are my favourite Pokémon games (tied with B2W2 and Platinum), water type is one of my favourite types, and Oshawott is my favourite starter! Godspeed gamers!

This seems like such a well planned run especially in the late game. You had a great strategy for each battle and even when stuff went wrong you had a backup plan.

Anyway, I would like to once again recommend another no stab moves run like I usually do on each video. This time I'll actually recommend Platinum sine this is already a Black / White video. I'll also recommend adding a rule to fight every trainer available before the next level cap because I think it's fun and makes the run more interesting.

6:42 I was so confused when he said lostlorn Forest (he meant pinwheel forest) is where he got Mai Tai the simipour because you can also get simipour in lostlorn, but you can't get there until directly after burgh's gym and having strength in nimbassa. I play these games too much. But yeah I did think flygonhg had a sequence break here.

Mono water in black is good and I appreciate that. And if u include the post game. Black and White are the only ganes u can do a no catch run and still have a full team at the end(since ur are forced to catch the box legend as a mandatory catch). Would be interesting to see how u would handle such a run. I've done 1 in my spare time. Was very unique

Hi FlygonHG! Regarding forgetting to teach moves: In my own life I solved these types of repeat mistakes by writing to-do lists. When you have a checklist to run through right before showtime, you can be confident you've got everything ready before committing to action. Draft the checklist as you explore your plans, and you formalize the checklist when you choose a plan. It doesn't have to be AT ALL elaborate or pretty. If I do a checklist, it's barebones on a piece of scratch paper or notepad or whatever works best. Perfectionism has no place here -- this is just a tool, not a tyrant. But when you've got something on the line, a checklist is your best friend. This style of planning will catch what your in-the-moment memory does not.
Zekrom is programmed to ALWAYS go for fusion bolt first turn so you couldve used that to lead with seismitoed instead of having to switch
The Jellicent lead was for Getsis. Since he has to have the same lead for both fights, he chose to lead Jellicent and use the scripted Fusion bolt to get a safe switch to his preferred lead, Seismatoad.
