It will be really interesting to add a camera and some kind of face recognition software, so the calendar and news are personalized for each person... I have heard of one python library that can do face recognition locally and you don't have to bother with training any NN model. It's performance is not that great, but could be pretty interesting.

Ok connect the power cable of lcd to adruino relay module. And when human near the mirror the PIR attaced to the adruino will power on the lcd, however the rsbp remain on.

I highly recommend if you can afford it to buy the one way mirror glass from a local Glazier (shop selling glass) instead of applying the mirror film yourself. It will look so much better. I built my first magic mirror using mirror film, and my second I bought from a Glazier, the difference is huge.

Note: probably someone else already pointed this out too... just to lazy to scroll and verify this.
You forgot to censor the api key in the right click menu when you were copying it. It's plain text in the 'Search Google for x" field.
If you have unlimited Internet, use the torrent download to reduce traffic on their servers so they'll be able to keep costs down.

Maybe a IOT system with the ESP8266 and the Arduino and a small OLED display behind the one way glass! For HDMI and bigger display, you need a powerfull processor such as raspberry pi!
