Pro tip: When you select a monitor for your magic mirror, make sure that the HDMI input faces down! Some monitors have HDMI inputs that face towards the back of the monitor. That will add unwanted depth to your mirror.

I couldn't agree more.. however, it is a bit difficult to connect the plug of power cable with electrical supply that too inside the frame assembly.
Hence, i soldered the power output of the monitor. :P .. Moreover i also had to connect my usb charger and a switch !

@@technoww1805 - I solve this problem by putting a small power strip inside the mirror frame and wire the power strip to a flush-mount plug on the outside of the frame. This gives me surge protected AC power for the monitor and USB power for the Pi and LED lights.

Yeooo nice vid mate. Excellent work! Just got a rasp 4 so will prob start a project like this at some point. Thanks for making the tutorials 👍
Would be great if you could find a work around so you don't need the screws. But adhesives could add complication/ be visible and ruin the look I guess.

Do it like apple did with the imac..just have a small lip for the glass to rest on, this could even be epoxied on the back of the glass and then use good automotive tape to tape it to the frame...will not move...

Any ideas on what to use to hide the little space between the frame and the edge of the glass to make the glass look like a mirror? Right now it does not really look good at the edges.

I am not sure about it ! but, you can visit any of the glass shops nearby, ask them for reflective mirror glass ! Give your dimensions to them and they will help you with it. i think transportation of glass might be difficult.
More over, you need your frame before hand so that holes on the mirror are located properly.
So, First things first, build the frame, and then visit Glass shop. Hope it helps !

You do not use tape to connect the house current to an adapter. That is a fire and safety hazard. Please anyone who follows this guys instructions do not do that. Do it the right way with proper electrical devices....
