Video by Dave's Little Beasties don't forget to subscribe - Be Calm, Be Gentle and Love Your Spider
Dave handles spiders better than some RUclipsrs with millions of subscribers. They want the spiders to act defensive to dramatize it and bring in more viewers.
Very true . They do it with reptiles too. Like "wow look at me handle this savage beast"
Thankyou a very educational video
dave holds spiders better then some youtubers hold their children
@@resurrectedhelicoprionhaa for sure
Do you have a Hadronycea Formidabillis, the biggest Arborial Funnelweb in Australia and one of 6 Funnelwebs now vieing for most venomous , wow she's an awesome magnificent creature,
Dave's over here making this look easy, but we all know that he speaks spider. He tells them to act right before the video begins 😂. Everything in Dave's Beasty Room is so well behaved, that his hissing roaches don't even hiss. He's got some kind of ancient druid magic, he won't come clean about.
😂😂😂😂imm sharing all I know with you fine people ❤️👍
Dave reminds me of teacher that genuinely cares about what he is teaching
Thank you 🙏
I just love your videos and I have never seen an aggressive spider in your care. As a 71 year old new spider keeper I learn a lot from you. Thank you so much . I only have 4 and that's enough for me
That’s awesome my friend ❤️❤️❤️
Yeah , I 2nd that !!
This should be mandatory viewing for every new keeper!
It really should be, along with all of Dave`s other videos.
Its Daves' fault i am a keeper! 😂. Always my go to guy if im looking at/for a new species
Absolutely love the way you handled these spiders. I've seen so many keepers - some very popular ones, actually - poke and prod their spiders while rehousing. I strongly believe that the one thing missing with many, many keepers, is 'respect' for the animal. Frankly, even though they may know a lot about them, they have no respect for the animal itself. But on the other hand, you do. Not only are you a wealth of knowledge, but you also respect them for what they are as a species and understand their behavior thereby allowing them to be the unique individuals that they are.
Thank you 🙏❤❤❤
I really love the fact that you respect the spider for what it is and I think then intern the spider respect you and you’re not trying to show dramatic display or to agitate the spider to make it more interesting for the viewer. I respect that you do everything to make the spider feel safe thank you Dave and camera lady. Wonderful work.
Thank you very much ❤❤❤❤
I appreciate how patient you are with the spiders. Every other RUclipsr I have watched who rehouse their spiders are pushing their spiders towards their new enclosure, seemingly not allowing the spider to release their grip on the surfaces. Also, thank you for the great tip about maintaining contact while directing them! I will remember this for when I need to rehouse my own tarantulas.
Glad your enjoying the content ❤️
This guy is criminally underrated!!! He doesn't play up drama or the T's reputation... just calm confidence. I am learning the hobby myself and this is the person I want to emulate. The less stress for the animal the the better things go. I am planning on getting some P. Rufilata and P. Regalis juries and raising em up the beastie way.
Thank you so much my friend we appreciate your support, if your in the uk message me on Facebook we have good size slings of both pokies you mention 👍
Just moved our p. metallica male and channeled our inner Dave 🤣 it went perfectly. Moved over like an avicularia!
Awesome work 👍👌
Honestly this video was so amazing. You conveyed the lesson so gently and precise.
This reminded me of those educational shorts about animals I used to watch as a kid.
You made spiders look like such gentle creatures compared to what our fears tells us about them.
Great work.
Thank you so much ❤
The Bible book of Genesis, describes the intended relationship between man and the rest of creation. (It's variously translated variously as subjection, ruler-ship, and dominion.) Watching you deal with your beasties epitomizes to me the essence of that relationship: knowledge, understanding, appreciation, planning, respect and love. The hobby couldn't have a better teacher.
Thank you so much really appreciate your support ❤️👍
Absolutely, I have gained a ton of knowledge and wisdom from Dave and his little beasties
Feels like I’m watching the Bob Ross of tarantula caring, this is very relaxing
Glad you enjoyed it!
YESSSSS!!! I feel the same way about this lol ;)
Mondays are no longer a chore with these vids to look forward to, thank you Dave and Camera Lady 👍🙌
I agree…normally, I don’t love Mondays but nowadays they’re much more tolerable thanks to The Beastie Room channel 😉😀
❤❤❤
Never ceases to amaze me at how well the spiders react to you. No other handlers in the hobby get this result. They are almost 100% placid for you. Well done….👍
Easily the most knowledgeable spider RUclipsr I’ve come across
Thank you so much ❤️👍
This should be watched by everyone who wants to buy a tarantula!
Thank you feel free to share everywhere ❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties I do! Thank you for the great videos and sharing your wisdom about the little beasties 🙏🏼
I’m going to need oxygen therapy after holding my breath throughout this video! You truly are an amazing man! Standing ovation for camera lady, steady as a rock and great shots! Fantastic video for sure!!
Lol🤣🕷
Thank you 🙏
This was the most professional and competent house move I've seen in awhile, it's entertaining watching other youtubers struggle but it's nice to see someone show that struggle is an unnecessary one.
I think ill buy a paint brush. And show my wife this video. So in the morning. She uses the paint brush to get me out of bed instead of yelling at me. Lol
😂😂😂😂
Dave I gotta say…. I’ve been watching you for a while know-maybe 8 months to a year or so and one thing that impresses me (other than the sheer amount of spiders of all ages you look after) is the way all your vivs are set up. All the same size on each shelf and how they look inside. It looks fantastic. Very professional looking.
Thank you so very much appreciate your support ❤️👍
I have seen so many people that think they are gentle during a rehouse that actually are not gentile. They man-handle the enclosures or move too fast with the brush. And then the spider ends up kicking hairs. This is usually driven by them being impatient. You have to be very patient and gentle when rehousing. You are doing it at the spider's pace and not your pace.
Hence why they aren't an ideal pet for clueless beginners
There is nothing like a beautiful glass enclosure with live plants and a spider.
We are all so lucky to have a spider guy like you, you are so realistic, you've given me much success with all my Spiders.
Thats awesome thank you ❤👍
I so enjoy your calm and smooth approach with all your spiders. I have seen loud laughing, falking and even screaming. Meanwhile the spider is scared.
Those Metallicas are something else, like the band, magnificent.
Dude, you are the Bob Ross of tarantula care
❤️❤️❤️
Dave certainly has the "touch" with spiders.
Love this longer video ; the 2nd spider you moved was beautiful 😍 Thank you for your time and hard work (camera lady too!) It really is appreciated !!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Me too!! The longer the better! 👍🏻
That 3rd spider, what an absolute beauty and dang she is a big one.
Yes! I love these longer visits to the Beastie Room! Thank you Dave and Camera Lady!
This channel has just become my bible. Any questions I have as a beginner I find answer for here, and this is the content I trust the most! Professional, calm, very informative and down to earth approach to the spider hobby, helped me an awful lot while dipping my toes in the world of tarantulas! Everything that I learned here has worked, I'm very thankful! Please keep them coming, this is the stuff what people need to see! Hats off to you!
Thank you so much ❤️
This was one of the best videos I've ever seen for hobbyists. It's just as, if not more important to learn the nature of a proper hobbyist, in order to become one. Thnx, Dave and camera lady.
Thank you 🙏
What a superb video! I love your calm, patient and gentle way that you handle your tarantulas. The whole process was relaxing viewing.
Thank you 🙏
I can’t believe just as you moved one of the spiders my dog barked and I shouted at her thinking she would make the spider jump !! Doh 🙄 !! Job well done 👍
Not centipedes, but I also keep millipedes. They are fascinating to watch.
I totally agree with your number 2, jumping spiders. I recently had a very old lady in my collection pass away, she was 3yrs, 1month and 8 days old; absolutely stoked at her age ❤
This was such a great video. I had my kids home when I was watching it and one said, “wow, that’s really interesting. Is this guy a teacher”. Yes, Dave! You truly are. Your passion and care for your beasties is apparent. I always learn something including to be calm during stressful times…something applicable to life generally.
Dave definitely has a knack for teaching people, i will give him that.
That is awesome! thank you 🙏
I would love to know how many spiders that room has. From eggs w legs to adults.
@@nycisme9290 I myself would like to know as well. Maybe Dave should do a video just counting all the Beasties.
@@nycisme9290 A lot 😂😂😂
its so beautiful to see u treat ur spiders with such consideration and care for them as if they a fellow human
Absolute masterclass, best in the business in my humble opinion, first class
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm defenitly a newby in the hobby. I even don't have a T yet but I did a lot of research. I watched like a million rehousing video's and they all makes it look so simple. But with you telling me what you do and why you do it in detail is a great help to me. +1 Hour of great entertainment and education. Well done!
Thank you and welcome to our channel my friend ❤️👍
Dave gives us ALL confidence, when it comes to rehousing.
My Nelly molted Brachypelma emilia juvie has become rather flighty AND very fast. When she/he molts the next time, it WILL be the time for a new cage/enclosure! Spiders ARE pretty unpredictable in their way of moving, but there ARE things, that we can do. This is where Dave and his good wife come into the picture, with the No-stress-moving technique. Hugs from Copenhagen. 👋🙂
@@johanneabelsen1644 ❤❤❤
Kavo75 ..I'm in the same place.. I have been watching everything I can on T - care. This has been extremely informative.
These videos have really given me the confidence to house any spider. I just rehoused my chilybrachys and my my poecilotheria yesterday and i just walked them in from their old homes with the help of a kids paint brush. Both went in , no drama, no escaping and no agression .
Thats awesome to hear always better when you can enjoy your spider rather than being afraid of it ❤️👍
Absolute master class Dave but being The Dumbledore of Tarantula Trainers your students are so well behaved.Just goes to show with correct technique a calm demeanor flows down the brush/wand.Im bloody sure in this case the brush chose the handler lol.Cracking watch really entertaining and educational. All the best.Tony
Thank you 🙏 😊
@@daveslittlebeasties Pleasure to watch such fast aggressive dodgy tarantula,s err not being all the aforementioned.Tony
It’s amazing how all your tarantulas are always calm lol
It’s how we treat them 👍
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I’m VERY new to this hobby. Truth be told, my friend broke his back, and as his wife HATES spiders, I volunteered to spider-sit his b. boehemi. Since I have ZERO experience, I have been watching a multitude of different RUclips channels to get as much information as possible. I find you to be an excellent educator, whose passion for these creatures is apparent in the gentle and caring way you interact with them. Thank you again, from a California native!
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
Whatever it is you're doing with these spiders, it's like watching a zen master at work. Truly satisfying.
The dark den is another channel that has some really amazing spiders. He's put small holes in the bottoms of his catch cups that he can put a brush through so he can coax them out without having to bring them in the direction of his hand. Even pros like yourself can pick up a pointer or two. Top notch video in any case.
Dave is a spider whisperer, no doubt
Thank you my friend its in us all ❤️👍
Dave is amazing can't forget Camara Lady, I struggle dealing with basic things in life, these videos help put a smile on my face. 😀👍
When you were moving the fury... If you had drilled a couple medium sized holes in the bottom of your round catch cup you could have inserted the paint brush from the back end making pushing her out even less awkward.. this was an amazing demonstration of best practices.... Question:. Did you Learn to keep brush contact from watching the way males move the females? It's brilliant really. Top Job Done there... That's the beastie way!
Yes when pairing if contact is constant then it normally works better and also through just watching what crests certain behaviour 👍
Oh my goodness, Dave, I absolutely LOVE your spider care videos! I'm a recovering arachnophobic of almost 48 years, and watching your videos is helping me understand these beautiful creatures, and of course, respect and appreciate them. Thank you, and your spidey-friends, so much 🥰
Thats awesome to hear ❤
I love the respect for the creature.
That paint brush, patience, calmness, and gentleness are the keys to a successful transfer. Thanks to your videos, Dave, my Suntiger “walked” into her new enclosure at her own pace! Also my Curlyhair. I don’t use a catch-cup at all, but keep one handy just in case.😁
Another important and critical bit of help to my fellow spider keepers is doing what Dave says and let your spider(s) first get through their moment of being upset over you dismantling their [old] home.
Thanks again, Dave!👍🏻
P.S. Love your spiders!❤
Thanks 👍🙏
Hey Dave maybe you could send this vid to Tarantula Kat to be helpful. Before you react, consider what i'm saying. you're a pro at this, and the way you deal with these guys is really a level above most others.
The aforementioned creator is often freaking out, panicking, and stressing the hell out of her spiders with her reactions. Considering they have a very finite life dependant upon their energy reserves, this would be a HUGE benefit to the animals. I know the community is all huggy and super positive and no one wants to admit anyone does anything wrong, but this would really be a huge help and would be really considerate to the welfare of the animals.
I think the quality of their lives may be a bit more important than her emotions. I recognize you will probably dislike this comment, but i also know that you love these animals and care about them so it should be said.
This morning life felt crap for me, but after watching this video I feel a lot calmer and more positive, cheers Dave 👍🏻
I’m so glad your day is improving my friend ❤️❤️❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks Dave 👍🏻
I have been binge watching your videos, they are so educational, and so far the best I've seen on youtube and I've been learning a lot since getting my first 2 Ts...Taking Massage Therapy course has taught me to always maintain contact with my client as to not spook them as they rest, therefore before I move to a different body part I keep one hand on the previous and remove only when my other hand has made contact with the new section... So, the fact that you figured that out with the paint brush is so interesting, and these little beings are just like us in some ways...
My slings are in molt, and it's a been nerving. I keep worrying that it's taking too long and I have done something wrong. Their booties are big and shiny but its been a week and still nothing. They laid down the molt web, and refuse to eat. but I can't get any videos to find out the length of normal molting time. I get every species is different and age plays a factor but it still scares me that I'm not providing enough. Water bowl is full, ventilation is not intense, T Chevron is about an inch and Pumpkin Patch in dime size. I live in Canada, and T's are in the basement with normal heat and humidity, I'm comfy so I feel they are lol... If you could do a sling molting video, it would be much appreciated I can't find a lot on it. Thankyou for your amazing knowledge, and humor with Camera Lady lmfao, great team you both are.
Moulting and feeding is all related to temperature , most are kept too cool which means it takes longer in pre moult which means they dont feed for longer periods of time , try warming them up a little and you will see the change 👍❤️
I just stumbled upon this channel and I must say it brings me so much joy. You seem so happy to share your knowledge and love for tarantulas with people. I recently got into keeping tarantulas and most of mine are calm, new world species and still tiny slings. But I did get a P. irminia and since they are known to be quite fast and flighty, I have been nervous about rehousing, but this has reassured me greatly! I love the focus you put on staying calm and making sure the tarantula isn't too stressed either!
Welcome to our channel ❤️👍
feel more confident in handling my tarantulas just by watching and listening to the Michael Cain of spiders! great video
Awesome! Thank you!
This is a masterclass in rehousing! Thank you Dave

Dave, your calm demeanor made these spiders look docile. You truly have found your calling. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Hello from KS, USA.
So nice of you❤️❤️❤️
A big THANKS to the camera lady and Dave for this nice, exating video!
I've watched this video quite a few times and every time I am just so amazed by your abilities to read your spiders. That GBB move was especially awesome. You are truly a spider whisperer!
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
Dave you make dealing with spiders so easy lol! I’m such a arachnophobic!! I’m terrified of them. My nephew was watching one of your videos one day and so that’s how I came to start watching u. U make spiders seem so interesting but still I would still scream my lungs out if I saw one lol!
That’s awesome thank you 🙏
Keep watching! Daves videos are the best arachnophobia cure 😊
@@Solitude11-11 lol before I started watching his videos I couldn’t even look at a picture of a spider let alone videos of them. But I still jump when one of his spiders starts acting a little aggressive. But he knows how to handle them. He does an awesome job!
Thank you, Dave! For sharing your experience and teaching beginners to the hobby, like myself, a whole lot. It´s really hard to find useful information with all that clickbait stuff out there but watching yours and Tom Moran´s channel really helped me overcome my arachnophobia which turned into pure fascination for spiders. I´ve done several rehouses now and thanks to your videos I am so much more confident in what I am doing and espcially how to do it properly. Hats off, man!
Thats awesome thank you 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️
Dave, we can call you the "whisperer" or what not, but I think that would go against everything that you are saying here... You have simply shown us that by observation, and a little knowledge, some forward planning and accepting the fact that these creatures are unique, even to their species characteristics we all can have such outcomes when dealing with our beloved Spidey's... Am I not right?..
As I always say mate, you gave us another master class video of the how to's when interacting with our spiders, a Calibre of which is unmatched on RUclips... Brother I can't help but say.. "we're not worthy, we're not worthy".😁🤣 Hahaha I love your work Dave, camera lady too. ❤️👍
You are correct everyone is capable of the same skills we just need to change our thought process and that is what we are trying to do here on the channel, these spiders have and still are made out to be terrible, dangerous creatures to massage the egos of others , we show they are nothing of the sort ❤️👍
@@daveslittlebeasties THIS ⬆️❕❤️❤️

That was the best video for all times.
Who knew a spider-phobic like myself could watch a video like this transfixed from start to finish? Fascinating to see the variety in this impressive spider collection, each one unique in appearance and personality. And Dave's problem-solving based on his knowledge of each arachnid's likely behaviour was gripping stuff!
I suspect Dave hypnotises his 8-legged friends, with his soothing voice. He certainly does me, as well as being educational, these are wonderful ASMR videos! 🤣🤣🤣
Great job Dave and Camera Lady! 🌹🌹💖🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷💖🌹🌹

The same thing happened to me! 😂 I’m now the proud keeper of a B Smithi! 🥰
I am terrified of bugs and spiders but for some reason I can't stop watching all the keepers and their channels. I'll watch feeding videos and rehousing for hours. There are a lot of really beautiful and fascinating species
I've started watching spider videos to overcome my irrational fear. I now really love to see these gentle giants. I dare say I will ever have one to look after, though I hope that through becoming comfortable with seeing them I won't lose it next time I see one. I can't think of a better instructional video on dealing with rehousing all 3 types of Ts in a safe manner. Bravo !

You are such a beautiful person! I'm so happy to see you be so gentle with the spiders.
I have a three year old Grammostola Pulchra, her name is Legsi and she seems to be happiest when I leave her alone. She is very feisty and always remoddeling her home. She has become a lot faster since her last molt! I really see her as a person, she has so much character.
You are such the master at this. I could spend days just looking at your collection in amazement.
I am curious though Dave, when it comes to your terrestrial spiders i notice you generally dont use an enclosure with a door. I would think that would make it easier to move them over. Im sure there is a method to your madness but im curious as to why you use one type of enclosure vs another.

Dave you're my favorite guy to watch with these spiders. I don't own any, but like to browse every now and then because they're interesting, and yours is the best amongst all the other similar youtube channels. No purposefully antagonizing or releasing the spiders for clickbait views of re-catching them. You're calm demeanor and (british?) accent are just relaxing to watch and listen to. You're the Mr. Rogers or Bob Ross of the tarantula world.
Thank you so much and welcome to our channel ❤️👍
Dave is a good spider daddy. You and camera lady are the best.
❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate you showing these because I'm new to the hobby and have a sling that needs to be rehoused, and I'm nervous about it. He/she went straight into his first enclosure easy, and I did it just like you said, I kept contact and he just walked over. But now, he has a burrow and I'm a little worried about how to get him out. I'm watching you do it and it gives me a little confidence to know I can do it myself. I don't want my husband to help because this is my spider, and I want more, but if I'm afraid of it, he won't want me to get another one. I have a regular old curly hair, about 1.5 inch sling, maybe more if it's diagonal leg measurement, and I don't want to stress him or hurt him or scare him.
You will be fine a curly hair are pretty well matured ❤️👍
