  • Now that I've gotten into some top business school programs including UPenn Wharton I took some time to create what I'm calling "Ideal Calendars" for one's time between college graduation, through one's time in the military to business school applications and a successful transition from the military. By following this timeline I think military officers can set them up for success in their journey to applying to and getting accepted to business school.
My name's Brendan and I'm a US Army Lieutenant that has a RUclips channel. Be sure to join me on my journey through the army and life by subscribing. Also, be sure to comment any video's you'd like me to make (ex: Platoon Leader advice, Deployment advice, business school advice, etc.)
The goal is to help as many people as possible by having them experience my journey with me and learning from my mistakes/successes.

Hey man appreciate the content, I am in a place where I’m going to graduate soon and not sure to go either national guard or full time army, and I do wish to pursue an MBA in the future, could you please give me a recommendation off this current information

Awesome channel! Really gives me some motivation. Any ideas on deferring acceptance? Ill be applying this year, so in doing so Ill be slotted to for fall 2021. The main problem the big green machine (USMC) might not let me out in time. Its the risk we all take... Keep up the amazing content!

Thanks for the information! These videos are awesome man. You may already have this in the works, but a video about how to pay for Business school would be super helpful too!

I'm looking to follow a similar timeline as you but through the marine corps. I'm currently a junior in high school and I'm about to apply for the NROTC marine option scholarship. Thank you for the info!

What do you think of 3 year army contract and then an MBA? Or is 3 years too short? That is the only experience I would have after undergrad.

Hi Brendan. Thanks for the informative video! I've read that the typical military applicant to b-schools typically has (2-3?) more years of work experience than the average applicant. Do you think applying with only 3-4 years puts one at a disadvantage in admissions, and do you think additional years of work experience would even make much of a difference?

I think the additional 3-4 years of work experience are important if they're impactful, which for the Army would typically mean Battery/Company command time (not just sitting on staff). That being said I don't think applying with only 3-4 years of experience doesn't put one at a disadvantage as long as you've had impactful jobs and can tell a meaningful story

Went to orientation at UTEP, where the student population is 13% veterans. Got told how the VA sucks and benefits suck in the military.
