Bond also doesn’t gamble with his money, which always helps
Yes, gambling with the government's money is a much wiser strategy
@@Gent.ZImagine seeing “Entertainment and Counter Terrorism Expense: £15,000,000” in the government expense reports
I thought that in dr no he gambled with his money
He does. Its one of his sources of income as his government civil service pay is insufficient for his lifestyle.
@@teenoso4069 His Majesty's SIS would have very strong objections to people in its employ gambling as it would leave them open to blackmail should they become financially compromised. SIS will not even employ those with what are called 'County Court Judgements'.
This resonates with me.
Conversant in Spanish, and currently studying Portuguese.
Trained in boxing, wrestling, tae kwon do,jiu-jitsu,Koga,firearms,and emergency driving.
This vid has inspired me to pursue my interests in golf and polo.
yeah right ok
Good for you. Never played polo but would love to become more familiar with the sport one day
Koga?
@@darbyheavey406
Created by Air Force veteran,Korean War veteran,Los Angeles Police officer Robert Koga.
It adapts principles of Akido, for law enforcement usage.
Boa sorte nos seus estudos do português, aprenda o brasileiro se puder
I was inspired by Roger Moore skiing in the Alps and it motivated me to learn how to ski. It’s been one of most rewarding skills I have ever learned.
That's very cool. These movies can have a great impact on people's lives
Do you instruct now?
@@bamoto8463 No, I live in Pennsylvania and the ski seasons have been very poor.
My grandfather introduced me to marksmanship, and my step-dad helped take it up a notch. I was a steady 1/2 moa at 300 yard with a 2/22.
That was when I was 15 or 16, and I’m 44 now. I bought a proper sniper rifle, and the scope cost more than the rifle.
It was super fun getting back into it. Navigating the physics, knowing how to adjust the scope is straightforward. Seeing the vapor trails and the bullet trace is pretty amazing. It’s all about learning how to read the wind.
Nothing beats a 3 1/2 seconds wait at a mile, or the 7 seconds at 3000 yards, that passes before the bullet bangs on the steel.
Bond also spoke Danish in one of the films (Tomorrow Never Dies, iirc)
You're quite right. The scene of him in the bed where he is, erm, 'brushing up' on his skills
I can't say I know any self defense, however my hobbies over the years have included push bike racing, windsurfing, unicycle, kayak fishing, strength training and chess. Anything that takes time, dedication and persistance is a reflection of your character. I can ski and golf but not for a long while. I would like to learn a language and play a musical instrument when I find the time, for now I will stick to reading as much as I can.
It's the reason why I like Bond, it is easy to forget how talented he is. It's one of the reasons why I prefer Bond to be about 40 (give or take a few years) for the first film. I just find it impossible to believe a person can master all these skills, know multiple languages fluently, know multiple fighting skills, expert weapon use as well as bomb disposal knowledge, expert vehicle use (including fast car driving, sailing, motor boating, flying planes and helicopters), extremely competent at sports, Hunting, fencing, rockclimbing, diving, skiing, swimming, golf (and the typical sports of the upper class), an expert gambler, entertain like a member of the British aristocracy knowing all the protocols like how to dress, how to make drinks & what fork to use, have a long career in the military/intelligence and rise the ranks of 00 (No offence) I just couldn't take a 20 something seriously
It certainly would take at least 10-20 years of adulthood to be so capable in such varied aspects of life. So I agree, 35 to 50 is a good age range for Bond, in my mind.
I’ve done all of these and I’m 24 what do you mean?
@@slatestravels No you haven't.
@@05Rudey I suppose it’s a bit like fine wine, my skills only get better with age. Meanwhile, you’re still stuck at the cork popping stage.
@@slatestravels Come backs are as lame as your lies.
Inspiring. Thank you. It takes a team to keep everything running as smooth as possible.
Your background is getting more stylish and looking more sophisticated. I hope your channel keeps growing along with your work . Cheers 🎉
It's coming along! I plan on changing it more significantly soon
This has quickly become one of, if not my favourite channel on RUclips. James Bond was my movie idol growing up so to have his qualities and skills broken down into an educational video is great. Love the background music too it’s just right. Keep up the great work!
i m a law student but I also teach skiing during weekends and Christmas, so proud of the fact that bond is an expert skier
I speak some German and i am looking into learning Spanish. I have practiced in equestrian and historical fencing and I shot competition Skeet. I wish I had taken Boxing. Too old now for that. Advice for the younger gentleman out there, when you get old the things you regret the most are not the things you did but the things you didn't do. Best regards
Thanks!
Great video my dude, keep it up!!!
Thank you, sir
Nice to see a fellow boxer who appreciates James Bond
Where did you get those bauhaus posters? What size are they? You should do a video on apartment decor/furniture/must haves etc.
What a video. Congrats!
love your videos bro, you are growing so fast!
Thank you, sir. It's down to people like yourself
@@Gent.Z bro even comments in character 🤣
I myself can relate to a few of these things, especially the sports. Over the years I have practiced skiing, scuba diving, Boxing, Aikido, Karate, Shooting and was a Fencing Coach for 20+ years. I also enjoy driving & riding motorbikes.
PS. Your videos are interesting & enjoyable. Keep them coming 🥂
Wonderful video, props to you sir
One of your best.
Thank you very much, sir
@@Gent.Z
You're welcome. Thank you for your hard work.
Excellent video.
One of my favorite aspects of James Bond. So glad you covered this! Ive done this research as well. And strive everyday to acquire some of these skills. I’m learning Russian, and hope to know Spanish and sign language in my life. I tried Judo after hearing that about bond and would love to learn to fly a helicopter and sail a boat one day! 😎 (still working on my poker skills 😅)
That's great, Chad. James Bond is an extreme example of a man who has a zest for life and has varied interests and skills. How did you find Judo? I haven't done it myself but it's very much on my radar of hobbies to try
@@Gent.ZI enjoyed it! Everyone in most judo gyms are very friendly and approachable, especially the trainers. Although be prepared, it does take your body so,e getting used to 😅. I felt like I had whiplash for several days after my 1st session, so go slow 👍🏾
Good video! Would be nice to see a video about gentlemanly automobiles (Cadillac, Lincoln, Jaguar, etc).
@br0k3ndad yes my friend! there is a reason why ronald reagan, barack obama, donald trump, al capone, etc. all rode around in cadillacs. it is a car of power. the Cadillac of today is certainly not what it used to be however, 96' was the last year of the real V8 RWD Fleetwood. after that, it was never the brand it used to be.
1:15 I totally expected a Duolingo sponsorhip add right there
I took scuba diving because of Bond. ;)
1st comment amazing video keep them coming 🙏🏻
Another impressive video..peace
Inspiring
This is fun.
All my friends wanted to be James Bond growing up.
So cigars, several black belts later and racing cars etc .
Eventually we will get there . No foreign languages sadly .
Nice
Very much enjoying your channel my good sir all the way from Yorkshire, England.
It seems you have hit upon a very particular niche from analysing your videos which is something i am yet to see in many of the male cultured youtube channels. (Your smooth English charm which is making all the difference perhaps)
Might be a little bit of a long shot for myself but your GentZ meet up event sounds very appealing, something i would possibly consider having a trip for. If you have any more info on that event, dates etc please do reach out to me.
Kindest Regards,
Tommy
Mr Connery learnt to play golf for 'goldfinger' and it became a life long hobby.
I did not know that he learned golf just for that movie, very cool. It was a big part of his life for decades to come
Where did you get the pictures ?
Bond also dances which can be a very advantageous skill. Besides which, it's fun.
As a Son of a Military Attache I grew up exactly with this mindset,- the Result:
7 fluent Languages, Love for Guns, Horses and Women..
Cheers!
00:55 🗣 Learning multiple languages like Bond can enhance cultural appreciation and practical communication skills.
02:07 🥋 Learning self-defense or martial arts boosts confidence and prepares for real-life situations.
03:05 ⛷ Engaging in solo sports improves physical fitness and independence, reflecting Bond's lone wolf personality.
04:25 👔 Dressing well is a skill that enhances confidence and professionalism, essential for any gentleman.
05:21 🃏 Learning card games like poker teaches strategic thinking, risk management, and social skills.
06:16 🧠 Improving social awareness, body language, and negotiation skills cultivates Bond-like coolness and cunning.
James is a renaissance man..a man 4 all seasons..peace...
This video made me look up Krav Maga Training and I’m booking a class this week
Can you make a video about the styles in the Godfather please?
More videos about Sean Connery James Bond, please.
My friend, while I certainly enjoy your awesome content and appreciate the great video, I must warn you against the practice of Krav Maga. This is especially true if you are taking it in the U.S. -most Krav Maga here is of dubious nature and is at best a VERY watered down version of what is taught by the IDF. Real Krav is more like practical considerations to, say, sacrifice four of your fingers to pull a knife blade off of your neck, not replicable techniques that can be applied in live sparring. Real Krav is much more of a manual for survival tactics in wartime armed conflict than it is a trainable martial art, and many "instructors" in the U.S. are borderline con-artists who are capitalizing off of a fad.
Additionally, any "martial art" that does not include a hard sparring component does not pressure-test its techniques, and therefore does not train you to realistically defend yourself. Your expectations going into self defense training should be that after at least a few years of consistent training in a universally-recocognized-as-effective combat sport, you will be more likely to survive a violent encounter. A good rule of thumb is to pick a combat sport (or cross train multiple) that is provably viable as a sub-component of MMA, such as wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, etc.
For reference, I am a competitor/coach in submission grappling (Judo, wrestling, BJJ, Sambo techniques all allowed) and a Muay Thai boxer.
I SEE BOND EXCELLING IN CHESS AS WELL
I want to learn to play Chess and the piano. These are my inspiring hobbies for 2024 onwards.
Chicago? I thought you were British in the UK!?
DID BOND PLAY A MUSICAL instrument? sing? ride a horse? sail a boat?
Sean Connery grew up in a tenement building in Edinburgh. When he became famous as an actor he met a beautiful actress in New York and upset her on/off boyfriend who was a member of the New York Italian mafia. Connery was threatened by this hoodlum and stood up to him and told him if he wanted it then Connery was more than willing to take him on. That’s where it ended.
Connery was a serious guy and could handle himself.
Vermouth goes in the fridge, save your booze!
Please put your vermouth in the fridge
I find Daniel makes best 007 vs previous ones as his physique characteristic and overall look makes it look like he can actually do the job
Old 007 I never find too genuine look
That is true, although Connery was also very physically capable. Bond actors generally reflect the 'ideal' male physique of the time. Certainly that standard has gotten a lot higher in the last 20 years
Do you think Bond is similar to John Wick? Both have sense of style, respected in their field, both very cultured throughout the world. I’d say John Wick was devoted to his wife and not a serial lover like Bond. But Wick definitely got the attention of ladies.
My hobbies include
Hiking
biking
Cameras
Drawing
Animation
Aquariums
Monk,elementary,Sherlock,Holmes
BBC
Documentaries
Workshop
Watches
Pen
Golf
Violin
archery
chess
“Bond never gambles to ruin.” I’m not positive what your meaning is here. If it’s that he never gambles until he’s broke in a particular evening, he does precisely that in Casino Royale with baccarat in the book, and poker in the movie. If you mean he’s gracious enough to not ruin his opponent, that was his mission in the same story. If you meant he’s not a habitual gambler draining his own resources into destitution, then you’re probably right. Then again, he never plays with his own money.
Hi James, I think an online group chat could be quite beneficial for the gentz which cannot join the meetings. It would be a great opportunity to discuss, connect between ourselves and share our journey.
Learning how to be in the world 🌎 but not of it is a vital skill to learn. With Love's help one can learn to do it in style 😎 😉 !!

Dancing: possibly No.1 way to attract, along with being hwp.
What does 'hwp' mean?
@@EMail-mt1kr height weiight proportionate
Im a woman but i do all these.... Is that a problem?
Not at all. I guess it makes you the female version of James Bond.
Non sequitur.
This is very British. Perhaps the most associated 007 skill is shooting, which if you’re in the USA you can easily visit a shooting range, and it’s possible in other countries as well.
I encourage the videomaker to have the very “international mindset” he endorses at the beginning of this video, and to think of his audience beyond the confines of his own country.
Well, James Bond and Ian Fleming are British; but I fail to see how Italian, French, German, Russian, judo, jiu jitsu, boxing, krav maga, skiing, running, golf, bobsledding, snowboarding, swimming, diving, fencing, skydiving, high-speed driving, sailing/boating, flying, baccarat, poker, and psychology are "British things".
@@il_gran_signore totally disregarded the point
He lives in America…
Woman and alcohol😂
Where??
This was useful. Thank you Gent Z. I'd give you a seat in parliament if I had that power.
😂……this video is interesting….but folks please remember….Bond, James Bond is just a fictional character portrayed in movies..very unrealistic…so please don’t embarrass yourself by trying to portray yourself as a James Bond character 😂 in real life. Be realistic with yourself and life and please don’t take yourself and your persona seriously…take life seriously though.
Also as for the James Bond character……all that he (the fictional character) does…..definitely would not and could not happen without the financial $$$$$ means to support him.
Yes again the James Bond movies are fictional based on a fictional character who has unlimited financial resources at his disposal to live that type of “fictional” lifestyle! 😂

Awesome video with some great advice! I have a whole RUclips channel devoted to this topic "Always Say YES to Adventure" www.youtube.com/@yestoadventure007 I am a professional martial arts teacher and recently I achieved a PADI Scuba diving certification. On my channel I was inspired to try many of Bond's skills, not only to learning to scuba dive but I went hang-gliding, sky diving, bob-sliding on an Olympic bob-sled run, skiing and race car driving and many others. As a Kung Fu teacher I always encourage men to find a martial art, any martial art as a path to fitness and self cultivation.
I just subscribed to your channel, mate 👍
Your background is getting more stylish and looking more sophisticated. I hope your channel keeps growing along with your work . Cheers 🎉
