The best feature of this boat is Mareike herself!
Mareike is an amazing person and it would be an honor to meet Mareike or to take one of her charters!
That was great, thanks for putting it together for us all to see, and as always, love the original Nick tunes. Suzanne and I will look her up and who knows.
Stunning! And the boat isn't too bad either :)
Thanks, I like Nautitech, they are on my short list. They are usually a good compromise between performance boat and the big 3 in term of weight and performance. Typically, they are a bit narrower and lighter which make them sail a bit nicer and faster. The 47 is gorgeous. I have yet to try one.
Would love to see you guys take a look at the newer open 40 or open 46 if you guys ever some across one. Would be interested in seeing your opinions on the design progression
looks great...great maintenance! thanks for sharing ...just got the same one :-) ...also from Greece ex charter... but needs some work now...
I’m also getting one Nautitech 47 in HK. May I ask where do you put the generator for AC? Thanks
what put the nautitech on your short list? ... when she said it makes noise (la vagabonde calls it donkey slaps) - that would be disheartening - esp in heavy seas
the helm stations look exposed
it's Saloon, not salon.
According to the Boating Encyclopaedia, The Oxford Concise Dictionary, The Encyclopedia of Nautical Knowledge , Dictionary.com, Merriam Websters and Wikipedia.
Salon is probably a typo that got out of hand, or more likely some marketing expert who thought it sounded more classy.
I figure boats with saloons are party boats while the sober or family boats have salons.
Saloon is a bastardised version of salon: 1728, English form of salon, and originally used interchangeable with it. Meaning "large hall in a public place for entertainment, etc." is from 1747; especially a passenger boat from 1817, also used of railway cars furnished like drawing rooms (1842). Sense of "public bar" developed by 1841, American English.
Did you ever thought about putting a canvas cover over the trampolines during sailing to "block" the water spray? Or would the force of the waves be getting to much then?
That would completely negate the purpose of the trampolines
@@markjennings2315 With calm sea, the trampolines would of course be uncovered for recreational use, but with high waves that cause uncomfortable helmspray, you would not want to relax on the trampolines, so covering them would not be an issue.
@@jansmit4628 I think you're missing the point of trampolines. They exist because they are lightweight and don't catch water not because they are a good place to relax. And you need the drainage and lightweight the most in rougher seas and taking waves.
Every boat broker tells me every boat is a “blue water” boat. I wish there were a way to objectively measure this. Even bridge deck clearance isn’t just one number, it has to do with the shape of the tunnel too.
Nobody is willing to let me take their boat across the Atlantic on the seatrial- what are they hiding!!?!
Seriously though it’s tough.
Paying crew? So the boat is still a charter boat?
Yes she still does charters.
