awesome video my friend!! I did the rear last year on my 2013 A6. Just did the front brakes and rotors today. Very simple and straightforward I have to say
Thanks fella, just finished mine. On the s line avant the rotor will not clear the carrier you have to remove it. 18mm spanner. Needs some mechanical advantage, On the rear, the front cleared fine.
It may be that the only thing i ever appreciatet with this car was that it was riding quietly. I watched your awesome vid, took on the Mission an changed both brakes and now i have a really weird noise. It starts at around 40 km/h and just gets louder. Like a helicopter noise. Friend who help me said it will eventually go away but hasn't after 2000 km drive 😭
Good Video Presentation....I recently ordered new brake rotors / pads from ECS Tuning for my 2016 Audi... What is your opinion if any on the Coated Brake Rotors & HPS Hawk Brake Pads.
You should have done some INVESTIGATION on RUclips into doing discs and pads as there are some very clever people out there who have worked out you dont need any special equipment to wind back the rear pistons because of the electric hand brake, it's so easy to do , Google it . And for anyone contemplating the job Spray releasing agent on the bolt heads for a couple of days before doing the job , AND clean the area on the hub where the wheel fits with brush, or cordless drill and wire brush , makes removing the wheel later on as alloys seize on to the steel hub unit , use copper anti seize grease use a small brush dont get it on your hands , its toxic ,
Does every a6 c7 has a sensor in the back brakes? My garage states, that my a6 c7 does not have a sensor, which is common for many vag cars, which I doubt. Or rather he said that the back brake pads have no sensor.
There used to be ways to retract them the cheap way I forgot how also how's an electric parking brake stop you from taking out the caliper that sounds stupid. If the parking brake is off it shouldn't interfere with taking the caliper off?
Correct, unless your old pads have worn a lip on the rotor. Simply disengaging the EPB may not give enough clearance to remove the calliper. The main point is though, that you can't push the piston back in without winding the EPB mechanism all the way back. You either need to use the OBD Eleven, or a direct current from a 9 or 12 Volt battery to the motor or remove the motor and wind it back by hand (clockwise).
Hey man, I’ve replaced my rear calipers and did the bleeding but my brake pedal is still soft. Do I need to bleed all calipers to get a firm pedal again? Thanks
I usually google search for the torque specs. Usually they will be in a forum or sometimes you can find installation guides at ECS Tuning that provide torque specs
Thanks for the help. I thought I needed to unbolt the caliper. You saved me a big headache

Great video... I have the confidence to tackle my brakes now that the brake pad warning has been going off. Thanks!
Your Link for rear pads is a Walmart battery link. Thanks for the video
You can just use a 9v battery to retract piston reverse switch +/- to go in opposed direction.

That’s your wheel bearing going out.
i just remove the e-brake motor and unwind the piston with a 7mm allen

I did the breaks without doing anything with my electric parking brake... now it’s not working.. did I fudge it all up?

Do you have a tools video, I am looking for an impact drill for the tire lugs?

Did you have to pump the brakes at the end?
Can I release the parking brake by unplugging it? Or with my maxiCOM mk808?

What about the front brakes, should I use obd 11 on the front too or just rear brakes need scan tool???
Just the rear
Does anybody know if OBDEleven can still do this without Pro version subscription?
Can I do the same on my Audi A5 not taking the break carrier out?
Hello MDRN, you actualy DONT NEED any special equipment to wind back the rear pistons on Audi's or similar cars with electric hand brakes
How do you know what size rotors they are? I see 320mm and 356mm for the C7 A6 as options.
Look at your build sticker in the boot, there is a code that tells you what size disks are fitted from the factory. Something like 1LF.
Didnt find the scan tool video
Hello u think u can do this service to my car
Hey man, I’ve replaced my rear calipers and did the bleeding but my brake pedal is still soft. Do I need to bleed all calipers to get a firm pedal again? Thanks
You may need to utilize a scan tool to operate the ABS module while bleeding. I just experienced that with a VW Passat.
Hey brother i got my rotors and pads replaced but everytime y turn brake pads and brake lights turns on. Any idea whats happening ???
Must be something to do with the pad wear sensor. Maybe it’s loose and when you turn it breaks the connection?
@@ModernEngineer i replace both conectors but it keeps happening and its only when i turn left
Will I be able to release parking brake with vagcom?
Yes
@@ModernEngineer thank you I plan to attempt this week.
@@nicke4976 hi, so you got it?
@@alexstels1 yea had to use vagcom to release parking brake
How to I find the torque spec on all the bolts when doing a brake/rotor job?
I usually google search for the torque specs. Usually they will be in a forum or sometimes you can find installation guides at ECS Tuning that provide torque specs
Thank you.
Appreciate the video helped out big time
Typically Wheels 89ft/lbs (120nM)
Ummm how did u compress the caliber piston
ruclips.net/video/1JHhEHaOiDw/видео.html
Do you know if the process is the exact same on a C7 S6?
I would suspect it would be very similar.
@@ModernEngineer Just followed this video for my C7 S6. It's the same. I love the tip about not having to remove the carrier. Saved me so much time.
Do the ebc turvo groove make loud noise while driving?
Or only when bracing
This electronic brakes need to be related via VCDS, you could damage the E brake
