Reading the comments from all over made me cry. We were ripped from our homeland and taken all over the world!! We are all family!! Such a shame...I keep a gari stash for when I run out of fufu...life saver!!
Hi my sister! I love garri, where I came from in grenada we called it farine.we eat garri with stew meat.we have for breakfast with milk.but I cannot get in canada, but love you recipe.
Yay we also add cold water, milk and groundnuts to it and drink it like corn flakes. Not necessarily for breakfast, more like in the evenings on a hot day. very refreshing! It's amazing how everyone has similar foods. :)
The connection between the Caribbean Islands a West Africa is strong. Always amazes me how similar techniques in culture, food, etc are shared and perserved, after so many centuries, with variations of course! :)
I prefer stove garri, it always feels more like fufu (smoother and more elastic). Thank you, even though the joke is always about who can't make garri (eba), watching your video, I learnt something, like if the garri is floating, it means the water is too hot. And to let it sit for a few minutes, before stirring with the spatula.
Yes it does 'cos of the extra heat especially for coarse garri. And lol @ who can't make Garri joke. Tell you what? I have been putting off this video for ages because I did not know how best to show it. But the number of requests I'm getting for it (yea) has become too much and I could not put it off any longer. It is easy yet difficult for a lot of people. Some non-Nigerians see it in the shops and want to know what it is for and how to make it. Glad you learnt something new from the video. :)
You're welcome! I don't know any brands of garri sold in the US 'cos I don't live there but once it looks like garri, it is labelled garri (or gari), it should be good. :)))
Oh this is what Mark Angel say in all his videos! 😅 Well, this is similar to Dish- Upma in India And Polenta (corn meal) - An American grits in US! So good 👌🏻
They are all called fufu recipes but I guess you are referring to cassava fufu. Cassava fufu takes to much time to make because you need to cook it for a long time. Cassava fufu also smells badly compared to this one. They are both derived from cassava. This is what is being processed in the video I posted before this one.
I really enjoyed your video! I spent time in Lagos, Nigeria many years ago. That was the first time I ever ate garri, and I love it! My problem is that I don't know where to get garri at here in America. I live near Panama City, Florida...and I can't find garri any where. People around here do not know what it is.....do you know where I can find some garri? I prefer the yellow, but will get whichever one I can find. Thank you so much for your awesome videos, God bless you! Don and Kim Miller
It has a hardly noticeable sour taste. We always eat it with Nigerian soups. Yes you can make it in no time but you need to prepare the soup. You can buy it from most African stores. :)
Which one is allow it to rest for 3 minutes??? I’ve finished doing my eba within that time 😂😂😂 We move… But each to their own As long as it turns out well 😊
To make eba you don't need the best brand!I buy mine from African store. For your first time please do not eat a lot and prepare to drink a lot of water
i dont believe that they actually it this in nigeria. Where would they get all the water? How would they be able to boil it without electricity? I really need help about this

I am not sure where you are in Canada, but there is a store in montreal, qc, called ghanacan that sells it
I bought some from the westindian store in Mississauga.

Btw, the Yourbas of Ijebu also make a cold eba/garri called Feshelu, that is used to eat water yam porridge (Ikokore).
Flo dey always come through. Never seen this method before and i have one better Egusi in the fridge. Well done mam!

If you live in a major city you should be able to find at an African market. I'm not sure about brands, but I know it's easy to find in Los Angeles.
Amazon carries it.
It looks so easy, I will try it..I’ve been using Fufu and it comes out sticky..thank you.

What does it taste like? Is it like mashed potatoes? I love the fact that it cooks up so quickly. Where can I find this?
It would be in an African grocery
Thank you, I'm trying to cook my first time. I hope this video will me.
I put a link to all the soups that you use to eat Garri in the description of the video. :)
You're amazing♥️

Is the cold Garri dry? as in no water in it?
Really? That's great! Thanks for the info :)
You're welcome :))
It's made like eba, but with cold water instead of hot water.
Can you please what soups or stews you can eat the garri with for Nigerian meal?
For me it taste better with okra soup
My dad is good at making this for us I like it with ebono soup ( sorry if I spelt it wrong)
it is spelled ogbono soup
Exile Gaming thanks!!
lol The things we eat when we are preggy :DDD
Pls can you change the background song and play more Nigerian songs. Thanks
Nene Christi No I can't. I can't use copyrighted songs in my videos.
Nice video!
In Kenya you have to cook till the pot turn black 😂🤣🤣

But each to their own

Thank you, good job! Where are the best brands/places to purchase Garri in the U.S. do you know?

You can buy it on amazon (under grocery & gourmet foods), however it is spelt Gari, instead of Garri.
This seems to be a lot like fufu. How are they different?
They are differents from the teste and the way we cook it!But some people call that gari fufu
похоже на манную крупу)
mmmm!!!
No salt?
It is optional
