    So my son and I had garri and maimai tonight for dinner and in his inquisitive nature asked "Daddy do they make garri?" And boom, Google is my friend and I googled to show him the process and fortunately your page was the first to pop up. I am super excited that you did justice to the quest to answer the young man 😊.
    Thanks for all you do dear. It was a well-done job.

    In Cameroon, muyuka garri is the most sought after. The only difference is that its fermented for a few days and palm oil is only added during the frying

      Some of us do it that way in Southern Nigeria. The fermentation is necessary to remove toxic cyanide.

      That's how we do ours in the Western and Central part of Nigeria frying it same day we make it too starchy l, fermentation gives it pro biotic nutrients 😊

    I'm actually very impressed with how Nigerians developed Garri. The whole production is so good. I will want to introduce nigerian garri to my country people want one day. We have a lot of cassava and we have only limited its use to making cassava flour.
    Thank you for this beautiful and insightful video❤.

    In Jamaica we use Cassava to make bammy it is almost 1 inch thick 6 to 7 inches round cut it in half to fry it...
    We eat it with fish or , fish cook-up with veggies 🇯🇲🇯🇲....
    I need to know more about cassava because they told cassava is poison it is not cooked long enough...
    But seeing what happens when my Nigerian ex-boyfriend eat garri I think I know why the discouragement is coming from....

      @Vitor-s3i 2 месяца назад

      Cassava is harder and more fibrous, so it is more difficult to grind with a pepper or even corn grinder. It is usually grated or cut into flakes to make the grinding process easier. In Brazil, there is cassava flour similar to Gari (there are many different granulations, some are not toasted, others are, some are made without fermentation and others the fermentation is prolonged).
