I'm happy if it helps! As an update, I flew it today at sunset, the blue is harder to see if there is still light outside. I might change them to white or green.
Looks awesome! And simple as well! How much of an impact do you see on the flight time? You have several LEDs on the strip and given that on nominal voltage they run full brightness, they will usually draw like 20mA per LED, which sums up. And you will have to be careful and not leave the battery connected for too long as the LEDs will drain the lipo until it dies, as there is no protection circuit with a LVC circuit. Just a consideration. I was thinking about adding LEDs to the big Conscendo and maybe even addressable ones like on the Night Radian. Anyway, great idea and well done, Alex!
Thanks, I like to keep it simple, it's my 4th or 5th UMX I add lights to. And I prefer to connect straight to the battery because even if something happens to the board or I lose it, the lights always stay on, rather ruin a battery than lose the plane. I didn't test on this one the drain, it has telemetry anyway, I did test on my UMX Radian, but that has 5v strip, took a 1s 200mah from 4.2 to 3.8 in about 30 minutes.
@@A.M.-RCgood point with the telemetry! Thanks for the figures on the Twin Otter. Honestly, I was surprised to hear that a five volt strip will run at all on like 3.6 V or so, but when thinking twice, it does make sense indeed. Will just be a bit dimmer.
@@dannythewildcard1026 no, they stay just as bright. A big reason why I like to connect them straight to the battery is they should stay on no matter what happens.
Check out the maiden night flight here ruclips.net/video/wdlow9kodYI/видео.html
Those strips seem pretty easy to work with. Thanks!
They are, soldering is a bit harder for me, but it's not rocket science. If I can do it, anyone can 😄
Got my UMX Conscendo today! May consider doing this mod, thanks!

Great video my friend I am going to try this out on a few airplane's thanks for posting. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks, looking forward to see your results!
Is 😮 a UFO!!!
Is SuperLedMen!🤩
Is a RC Plane ❤
Great Build and Tutorial my Friend 🐻❄️🐼👌🏻
😄😄😄 thank you Panda!
You're welcome my Friend !

Yes! Night Conscendo!
You can turn just about anything into a night plane, this is just my latest. And the bigger the easier it is.

Does the light get dimmer after you fly for awhile?

Great Video well done. wonder if you could include a link where you bought the lights. I may use this to video to do other planes,
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Nice job, well explained and looks quite easy...jeff..uk.
Yes it's pretty straight forward once you get an idea, thanks for watching!
Very nice video. Wondering where you got your lights and the white electrical tape you mentioned? Well done.will save for future reference.😊
Lights and tape were from a hardware store, nothing fancy. Thanks!
Nice
Thanks!
HH should sponsor you ,with umx planes at least
I'm not even dreaming about that. But it would be nice of them 😄
@@A.M.-RC espacialy that your a spectrum lover and you make good and honest reviews
