I purchased a maxi-check pro about 4 years ago and tried to bleed the brakes on a 2003 Ford Taurus , and it said that it was not communicating with the vehicle.
CAN I USE THIS METHOD TO BLEED AIR IN SYSTEM EVENTHOUGH I HAVENT TOUCHED OR OPEN ABS. i usaully ask my kids or wife to keep pressing brake pedal and then i crack open, if no one is around i am thiking of using this method .. pls advise.
@@DIYAutoworksNG Thanks in case of Toyota it is still asking someone to pump and hold the brake to bleed rather i expect ABS pump to pump the old fluid.. any idea ..
Thank you for the very informative video.I would like to know if the one person break bleed method ( catch bottle and tube only) with no pump can be recommended to flush the break oil? My car is 2018 Japanese model with ABS? I have the oil which came with car and is +4 years now.Can do it my self? Thank you?
The no pump or gravity method can work, it just takes a long time in comparison. If the brake fluid is sealed, it should still be good. If it was opened or the seal is broken, it's not recommended for use.
The ABS bleeding procedure with the scanner on this car does not involve the rear brakes, however, after the scanner procedure, you will be required to bleed all wheels manually following Honda's sequence.
Remember that the procedure is focused on bleeding air out of the ABS itself, not the entire brake system and lines. The manual procedure takes care of air or old fluid in the brake lines.
Questions this is for electronic Breaks and not Hydrolic breaks? Also would you happen to know if this Scanner Tool can reprogramm non key fob keys? I have a 2005 Lexus ES300 and 2001 Toyota Sequoia.
After using the scan tool, it says to go ahead and do the normal Honda bleed routine…when I get to that part, can I use my manual brake bleeder pump? It’s a smotivepro. What method do you use when bleed ? Do you have a video for that ?
Yea, you can bleed manually afterwards using any manual method you're accustomed to. I don't have a manual brake bleeding video. I just using a piece of tubing on the bleeder nipple, nothing fancy at all
Do you have to use the scan tool? Can you manually bench bleed it? Ive got a 2010 Impala and im about to put a new modulatoe in, im thinking about leaving the block in , and switching the motor and board. Recommended?
You mustn't use a scan tool, but the manual bleeding process is messy. Pumping brakes, opening and tightening the ABS brake lines for the air to escape (it will come with fluid). Not sure of the design of the Impala ABS unit, but if there's a separate electrical component attached to the pump (as in some models), you may be able to change just that part without disconnecting the lines. If the lines are removed, bleeding should be done. Ultimately, do refer to service recommendations from the manufacturer.
I mean the method of one person pumping the break pedal until clear break oil appears in the bleeder tube? Do you recommend this method for DIY? Thank you.
Hi, I got one of launch scan tool for honda and for 2019 civic bleeding procedure is not available but in abs system I can activate modulator for each wheel but there is 2 option( solenoid and VSA) and both activate modulator and vsa last longer and more noisy do you know which one will push the fluid?
The tool advises you do so due to the heavy power draw by the ABS, also the ABS is one of those systems that's quite sensitive to low voltage. So in summary, I personally, I would always connect a charger.
If I wanted to do a fluid exchange. Should I do the Honda sequence first on all 4 wheels then finish up with this on the front 2 wheels or start with this then do all 4 wheels. Thank you
It means the test is not supported by the scanner on your car. Can be due to a number of reasons, the car may not support the test or the car does, but the scanner doesn't.
Just did an ABS bleed with scanner on my jeep wrangler. The scanner only had me bleed the right front and right rear tires then said the operation was complete. It didn’t ask me to bleed the other two tires. Is this normal?
You need a scanner to perform a proper brake bleed. The spool valves in the abs module do not move unless under command. Normal bleed doesn't remove trapped air in their cavities
What's your experience bleeding ABS, with or with a scan tool? Let's talk! Hope this was helpful.
Never done a brake bleed with a scan tool. Hoping to do it on the next brake job coming up soon.
Super!

Best abs bleed video on you tube I’ve seen so far!
Thanks, mate!
Thanks!
Lovely video mate - fast, concise and complete. Thanks and good health!
You're welcome! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
Wow you used the right wrench, good job 👍🏽
Thanks, mate! I love tools😊
This video is straight forward and educational!!!
Thanks!
Nice video. On a side note, I'm just eyeing that Bosch battery 🤩.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Very reliable battery. Best I've used to date!
Thanks for the compliment. 🤛🏼
Man, these videos are invaluable! Thank u sir 👍
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Nice job Sir, I've followed you for over a year now. I have the MP808ts. Wouldn't be bad if am able to communicate with you privately.
Thanks! I'm @diyautoworksng on Instagram
Great video. Do you have video on how to read programming from old and module and write to new abs module?
Thanks mate! Negative on module programming video
So you need to do regular brake bleed after the brake bleed with scanner?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge
You're welcome
Scanners for brake bleed - a must for ABS equipped vehicles.
Absolutely.

💯 That's exactly what I did in the video. I haven't touched the ABS on this car

Hello, what about the rear brake ? Do you need to bleed them?

@@DIYAutoworksNGso what was this now? Why manual? I dont understand

This is for hydraulic brakes. Yes, the scanner can program keys to those cars.
As a matter of interest - when you watched the video, did you think he was bleeding liquid electricity into the plastic bottle?

Thanx for the clarifying vid!
Glad it was helpful!
Hello my friend, is this method the same as the manual ones?
By manual, you mean?
I mean the method of one person pumping the break pedal until clear break oil appears in the bleeder tube? Do you recommend this method for DIY? Thank you.
Sure. Tried and tested method it is! Where a scanner/ABS bleed is necessary is if you replaced any components or replaced the ABS lines.
@@DIYAutoworksNG Finally, when you bleed using above method, does the engine need to be started during the pumping of break pedal. Thanks
Nope. Just ignition on.
Great video
Thanks a lot, Kevin!

I'm yet to use a Launch, so I can't say for now.
00:35 you didn't have to flex on us that hard with those sneakers 🥵
😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Oh well!
Ya!! 😳
😂😂😂
Is the jumper battery necessary?

Very helpful video. 👍
You're welcome!
same scanner goes though procedure but does not turn on the pump. yet i turn on pump from another menu within same scanner
Those are some of the nuances of 3rd party scanners!
If I wanted to do a fluid exchange. Should I do the Honda sequence first on all 4 wheels then finish up with this on the front 2 wheels or start with this then do all 4 wheels. Thank you
Start with this, then do the 4 wheels.
*on my delphi diagnostic, it says that both bleed at the same time so that the abs pump is not stressed*
Cool
Good job 🌹 ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
I would like to buy a Scanner to my Viano 2.2 2014 163c Delphi ECU. Purge ABS, actuators, injector code, etc. Do you know if this scnner can do it?.
It should. You can confirm the supported services here autel.com/vehicle-coverage/coverage2
@@DIYAutoworksNG Like always mi Viano 2014 is not in the list. Thanks.
Ouch! Like always? Limited support on scanners generally or just Autel tools?
@@DIYAutoworksNG well, I don't know what scanner can do these works.
❤❤❤
Hey so it says on my truck the ecu doesn’t support it what’s wrong
It means the test is not supported by the scanner on your car. Can be due to a number of reasons, the car may not support the test or the car does, but the scanner doesn't.
1:14 Does anyone know what the name of that warning sound is?
😂😂🤣😂🤣 Of all the sounds in the video?
It's called metal gear alert sound.
Just did an ABS bleed with scanner on my jeep wrangler. The scanner only had me bleed the right front and right rear tires then said the operation was complete. It didn’t ask me to bleed the other two tires. Is this normal?
Probably the way the ABS on the wrangler is setup. Mine only bled the front 2
Perfect
👌🏼
First u do front or back wheel bleed
The tool guides you.
$900 for a scanner to do a brake bleeding, anything cheaper than that brother?😂
Definitely not for just the brake bleeding! They're way cheaper options on the market.
You can use the old way
You mean bench bleeding? It's just too messy for me but definitely works.

Dang dude do your updates lol
