That loki was playing like his plan was to afk and backdoor all along. That's why he thought it didn't matter if you won the fights, he'd be able to run away from you in stealth and PVE you down.

I just started my ranked grind today and my first match was a Baka mirror match. Buddy got beads instead of shell and dced immediately after first blood.

That Herc v Marti match was for sure one of those matches where the player was relying on the strength of the god rather than player skill. He knew he was outmatched and just didn't want to lose outright. So he was trying to wait it out until he got enough items to be OP again
Like I've heard of stall tactics in plenty of games, but in smite!?
@@chrisdarr9200 There's an enormous gray area in the player base. You've either been in it since the game released, or you've been playing but don't understand how to play. So the ones who have just started to play or have been playing but don't really know how to play rely on what is really super good at any skill level to be good at their level of play. But when faced against someone who's been playing since the game came out and does know how to play. It's the only way to play and actually get to play without quitting at 5 minutes. 5 minute matches at any skill level aren't fun. It's not fun for newer players because it usually means they're getting stomped and aren't learning anything by only playing 5 minutes and quitting. And for the veteran player it's no fun because they just steamroll and don't actually have to try. It's a pretty fun game when the matches are interesting enough to play at any skill level

The time to kill in duel is about to sky rocket. All power, physical and magical, got huge nerfs, and all protections and health items got a nerf thats half of the power nerfs.

He was trying to win a fight that he automatically has a 40% chance of losing since Sam is more experienced. Yet he attempts a fight losing battle from behind ? So Sam will win 80% of the time but 100% if he hits everything… which is not in this guys favor as it is being behind.. yet he thinks he is going to put play a person who is playing out all the options.. and read him like a book everytime 🤣🤣🤭 and the guy didn’t learn. Kept trying for that highlight reel kill

37:00 watching this snowball and thinking... As a teaching experience, I can't help but think how helpful it would be to see you play the other side of this game (e.g. intentionally get yourself behind ~2k+ gold and 3-4 levels on a god who theoretically wins late).
Sam made a couple videos with this exact scenario in mind a while back. The items themselves are different, but I imagine the basic principles are still the same - defense is good, safe farming is good (so waves near/under tower, just your blue if you get a good chance to get it), unpredictability _can_ be good but only if you're really desperate or think you can get away with it.
That being said, I agree it would be good to see another video with this concept in mind.

I just had a idea what if they changed duel where it selects a certain class for both players and you choose character of the class you're gonna use so it's a even chance no match ups like hunters vs guardians etc. Where ofc the guardian has no chance a legit battle of skill who is better just a little thought
