Honestly, I think this series is becoming my favorite you've ever done Sam, even over Tryhard Thursday.
Watching you play the same god, try different builds, learn different mechanics and interactions, and seeing how the same god performs in different matchups (or sometimes even in the same matchup, just different things happening) is both helpful to me and entertaining to watch. Especially when you start losing your mind on how well you're actually doing with the god versus what you expected going in.
I think we should also have a T.I.T.S series, Til I Tilt Saturdays.

it's because chernobog is actually good...man has decent clear, aoe root combo, basically permanent as stim, double dash that can go into walls for extra safety/wait for cooldown..and the ult for duel is...eh, aight...and to top it all off...he's you know...a hunter...so basically op by default

Hey Sam! Just came from watching your video commentating on the 800 MMR Chronos. I just wanted to say it was such a good video and I hope you do more!
So. I've always thought people were sleeping of Cherno. So out of curiosity, I checked Sam's smite guru. Sam's Chernobog has a win/loss ratio of 73.33% over 30 games. That's extremely solid. its not the largest sample size, but it isn't the worst. For some comparison, he has a 68.93% over 309 games as Ullr. Now we all know Sam doesn't consider his ullr to be especially good in comparison to other ullrs. For a god with more comparable matches, iirc, Sam generally considers danza pretty decent. 73.08% over 26 games.
These stats don't even approach telling a full story when you consider the history of buffs, nerfs, memes, weird seasons and metas, whatever. But it does provide enough evidence that we can reasonably say that Chernobog is perfectly viable if you want to play him.
For those who are wondering, His highest winrate god right now is Martichoras with a 94.29% over 35 games.

I love cherno. His visual design is the coolest imo and kit dumping into ulting for anothe round of em is pretty satisfying
You can also dash into anhur pillar for a while, which is pretty funny
Best. Series. Ever. I love it. It reminds us who actually play Duel, how it feels like playing duel. Sometimes I play a few games and feel unstoppable. Then I queue and get man handled and get tilted lmao. Sam just needs to play sub-par gods to have the same effect where I am playing my best gods most the time.

Hey Sam, fellow recipe forgetter here. Just a quick tip, if you realize you forgot it at any point, you might as well still pick it up next time you’re in the shop. They’re free and you’ll probably still end up getting it stacked and getting some use from it before you end up selling for a 6th item if you realize early in the game. Love this series!
I like the concept of Chernobog so it's cool to see him become a bit less finicky to use, especially with how he can potentially shut down Arachne or Ao Kuang

The Chernobog change was more impactful than most people think. I loved his concept originally, but the change made him marginally better and easier to use. So your original opinion was right imo.

Hercules literally always feels like he's up 2 levels even when he's not, so if he does get ahead it's just a slog. He's been like that for like 3 seasons too so I guess this is fair and balanced by Hi-Rez standards.
I often go a little over the cooldown cap (I play slash mostly) Because every freaking item I want has cooldown. though it usually only happens on warriors with their base cooldown reduction.

i feel like chernobog is just straight up insane against close quarter melee opponents. his root and attack speed stim just absolutely shred if you barrel stuff someone and hit every auto

It looked like for that last match he was dashing out of yout 1 range, so you couldnt root him. Thay seemed to be the biggest issue was him denying you cc to pin him down. Plus his damage you have very little counterplay against with how fast it comes out. If you are immune in your dash to cc you may be able to use aggressivly to bait the dash, if not ban herc lol
Netrioid has a really good Cherno build that might have worked here: Death's Temper, ASI, Exe, Fail-Not, Malicious DB, Dom.
Obviously swap out the Death's temper for Valor, and maybe the Asi for Devo's (although stacking while losing is rough!), but that build has mega pen, crit, full CDR, plus extra CDR for the DB, and still has a bit of life steal. I get there's a bit of an attack speed trade off, but speed didn't look like an issue, plus with full CDR - and then some - you've got a near permanent stim (and almost infinite escape).
Toxic blade against Herc didn't seem strong like it does against other hunters. Herc's attack speed wasn't the issue, and hitting enough basics to get the anti-heal working takes way too much.
There hardest thing about playing the same God, is knowing the perfect route and combo, doing it mindlessly accidentally and losing engagements from playing the ai, not the player~.
that herc pretty much knew what he was doing and knew the matchup for sure he was putting out his abilities faster than you while you werent comboing him just relying on your autos and he had so damge mitigation plus heals
I'll say it again about Herc. He is the ONLY warrior with high scaling and high base damage. He has the base damage of a warrior with the scaling of an assassin while having the base health and other stats of a warrior. There's a reason he's the best god in duel. It's because he's actually, not joking, broken
I like to see you playing some not so common gods. the least played in duel are what i think are the most fun to play (except for most guardians and warriors).

Hey Sam, just wondering if you would ever do something with Cu Chulainn? He's my favorite god and I'm just starting to get into duel and was wondering if he's even viable in duel.
Duel is mostly matchup and skill based, there are many common picks where cu could bully, and many where unless you're so much better than the other person you just lose, thats the nature of the beast. My recommendation is to just get in there, remember that for duel you want to be able to clear, and you want to be a little tanky to them. Usually you get one stacking item, one damage item, then defense, and then play it by ear. Maybe defense comes second, especially on cu, but honestly nothing to it but to do it. Mess around and find out what you should do to get cu to work.

Chernobog ult is not only good for rotating to ganks and returning to lane. It is also great for chading somebody who just lost a trade against you and ran away with a movement ability

Chernobog ult is honestly very useful in duel, but it is circumstantial.

The Chronos from the third game plays a TON of games I match with him literally every day I play duel.

Amazing when I queue unranked 1v1 I get diamond borders people who pick only top tier gods while you queue on mmr cap and get people who stand in your wave

Chern is pretty good since his buff. I'm not a huge fan of him and Apollo getting buffed out of their minds. In conquest the whole point of playing them is the global ult rotation/splitting. Now they're just objectively stronger and you get the global ult
