Thanks for the information on the software updates for the Y! With your 50,000 mile review, we may just look at buying rather than lease. We were going for the S since that is what we had before. However, the Y gets more likely the more I watch your videos. And, our bending towards the Y has been partly due to the additions you've added to improve the look and wear on your car. I don't know anyone who cares more about the upkeep of a vehicle's exterior and interior than you do!

My MS has 103k miles, my MY, has 30k. Yes-CyberTruck is reserved, ONLY because these cars are the SAFEST, most secure, and situational awareness cars I’ve ever driven! The CEO of Tesla might be polarizing or controversial- but don’t let that take you away from making informed, intelligent, and consumer friendly purchases like TESLA. Trust me, I’ve owned so many cars throughout my journey in life. Tesla, is by far the most technologically advanced vehicle on wheels relevant to safety and security in the modern era. Finally, you are absolutely correct in hiring an electrician PRIOR to entertaining a purchase of this EV. When you do the cost benefit analysis over long term of over 5-10-15 yrs, you’ll easily save yourself headaches, money, and maintenance issues if you decide to purchase an 100%EV like Tesla. I prefer Tesla, b/c NO OTHER CAR MANUFACTURER is ahead of the FSD, sentry, safety, data, AI, peace of mind, and security like Tesla. Yeah, its a great car! But financing an expensive car is the dumbest thing a young family can do! How much did this car cost? $66K? What's it worth now? You are literally taking food out of your kids mouths! What's wrong with a $20K car? And invest $46k - even at 2%! Finance this thing over 72-months - what are your chances in 2026 of owing more on the loan still than you can sell the car for? Calculate the interest on that loan! (With any luck you will end up owing more than you can sell the car for!) Collection Agencies are rubbing their hands with glee! But aside from that, even if you buy it cash today... Cars ARE NOT an investment! Even these popular Tesla's will depreciate at an alarming rate. (Actually they depreciate faster because its emerging technology!) The price of EV's is going to go down as more become available. Its a given. Thats 100% inevitable! Driving down the value of this car at the used car dealer or at trade in. Yeah, convince yourself you won't need a newer model! Good luck with that! Human nature does not work like that. Thats what drives capitalism. Elon will have you lusting after a newer and better one! I don't know why, but the sound or volume of your voice goes up and down. Sometimes I can hear you fine and other times I can barely hear you if you listen to you your own video and compare it to the commercials, that should give you a good idea of the clarity and the volume changes. Lot of good information though. I just couldn't catch it all.
I haven't really seen anybody vlog about how this tesla do in a multiple long range travels for how they do after years of doing that. All i see is city drive.

Just hit 30k on my model y. Battery degradation around 5%, and only maintenance has been tires. Couldn't imagine going back to an ice moblie. Still love driving it every time I get in, Plus fsd keeps getting better.
Have you considered upgrading to a new Y wtih the $13000 price cut and the $7500 tax credit? May make an interesting video explaining the pro's/con's for others considering it.

@@Gjeebs which makes your comment even more perplexing. Don't get me wrong. Big heavy cars with high cog can be made to handle unbelievably well, but they never drive "like a sports car". I have a 911, a Z4M Coupe, and a Touareg with active roll bars. I'm astonished at how well the Touareg handles but it doesn't come close to feeling like a sports car.
Personal opinion (obviously): If you're a dirty person before kids, you'll be dirty with kids. If you're a clean person before kids, you'll be clean with kids. I have a 4 yr old son and a 2 yr old daughter. Although it is more work, it is not difficult to keep a clean and organized home with kids. People that blame their kids for their dirty home are just dirty people. Stop blaming your kids for things you control is what I would say to anyone who blames their kids for why their house is a mess.
Damn 50k miles within the span of 2-3 years is a lot even for a daily driver tbh. I have a 2020 Honda Civic hatch, it’s my daily and I sometime road trip in it and I only have 30k miles on it
@@Gjeebs Thankfully, that matters a lot to me so because of you I realize 2020 models and prior have the option of low regen which is great for a smooth comfy drive. I hate the new ones where the regen is so aggressive that it abruptly propels you forward in your seat. I know you can modulate it with the throttle but that's a lot of work.. i wish they bring it back which I heard they are...
One thing that annoys me is if you bring up Streaming or switch to Bluetooth, the screen overlays the GPS map forever vs minimizing if you haven't touched the screen after 1 min.

minimum degradation is at lower percentage, it would be better that you don't charge every night to 80% unless you need it. if you can go 2 or 3 days and charge when you are at 30% back to 80% that would be a good idea and also beneficial for the BMS
I guess the only real advantage of replacing your model Y would be the bio-weapon (positive pressure device). It appears efficient in bush fire areas such as California. I don’t think I would actually hang around to test it 😮. The AMD vs Intro chip, 5G vs 4G are other improvements. The interior enhancements are offset by the removal of the passenger automatic seat adjustment. The seat belts are not adapted for shorter people (they are too high and adjustment is not sufficient. The suspension either is bad period. My Y Performance is horrible to say the least when engaging with any crack, bump or worst …potholes! Besides those dissatisfactions, my therapy is a once in a while 0-60 in 3.7 secs 😊

Between purple and gray, the gray wrap would retain less heat in Arizona summers. It would look less distinctive, though. Probably better to just take the money and buy Tesla stock.
Thnx for the info!! I got my LRMY in late may after a 10mo wait. I love it! I now have 7k miles…..just had my 1st tire rotation…. And a month ago, i had to buy a new tire because of a random nail hit! It was expensive, but the car handled beautifully. I had been driving an ev (fiat 500e) previously for 4 1/2 years….so my maintenance was nearly the same as yours…. Now thIS car is a lot more comfortable….i have the 19” and i do feel the bumps…a bit…..but it is manageable. I don’t regret anything…..except….i wish that i could have gotten the $7500 tax rebate….. but at least i got my financing at 2.5%.
You forgot to mention the poor ride in the second row of the Model Y. I imagine you were miffed that Elon dropped the price of the Model Y so significantly recently.
I did charging at home for a while. Plugged into my dryer's outlet, ran the 50 foot 10 gauge extenstion cord (from EVSEadaptors) out the window to the outside, and stretched to my car. Alternatively you could use a Quick220 box to combine the voltage of two different 110 outlets.

Got a new model Y a few weeks ago and the suspension is great. Not too harsh at all.
The 2023 Model Y has a revised suspension known to be an improvement for ride quality 👍🏼

For maintenance, you forgot 1) Add windshield wiper fluid, and 2) Check tire air pressure and add air as needed.

I charge my 2023 model y to 80 percent and only get 260 miles the car has 1200 miles do you think that is normal
25K km on my Y , I’ve touched the brakes twice ! Tyres and screenwash, that’s all I anticipate paying for.

I have 2015 Model S AWD, it has 150k miles on it and it had 247 miles of range brand new and not it can get 214 miles on a full charge

The key is charging setup at home. Must be L2 or higher, if electrician involved -$$. Don't bother w/110V. If not, BEV not for you.
I did charging at home for a while. Plugged into my dryer's outlet, ran the 50 foot 10 gauge extenstion cord (from EVSEadaptors) out the window to the outside, and stretched to my car. Alternatively you could use a Quick220 box to combine the voltage of two different 110 outlets.
