I would feel terrible putting my turtle in such a small & bare tank. These turtles also need a fair amount of space out of the water too as they are semi aquatic ☹️

Yes, but the Chinese pond turtle needs more water, they are more amphibious.

I’ve never seen something whine in their eyes, but they have some white color around the black.
