After uploading the sountracks for many years and watching the show from home in Chile, finally I can say that I was on the opera house to enjoy the show, it was breathtaking. Happy new year and thank you for carrying on the tradition :)
The trumpets and the kids choir are a nice unique touch to the soundtrack. Personally I think this is an improvement from last year’s midnight soundtrack as it’s not as repetitive. Really does have a Sydney vibe to it. My favourite part is the second song “Tiny Sparks” at 10:50.
True about the repetitive part I 100% agree. This is why I liked the Presets one because it was broken into 3 tracks, wheras last years' was only two with the 2nd going on too long. Gonna disagree with the choir and trumpets -- it was nice and unique but 2 minutes was plenty with the trumpets and shouting and it would've been nice without it entirely. I appreciate the effort though of the guys who did it and good on SCC for supporting Aussie artists but it just wasn't suited for a NYE fireworks at all IMO.
The kids choir does remind me a bit of Baby by PNAU. I thought the soundtrack worked really well with the fireworks this year, even though it doesn’t have the same replay value as You Belong, the synths and unusual sounds are reminiscent of the Presets soundtrack from 22’.

@@ashleywilliams4511 Yeah I think the Presets soundtrack was fantastic. KLP and Stace a close 2nd place. This one/reminds me of if 9PM fireworks and elevator music were mixed together. I hope Syd City Council will get someone who can produce a good banger next year.

Do you still have all your NYE radio recordings? Sadly most of the ones on Mixcloud etc have been taken down.
