Hi all! As our channel grows so do the scammers. We will never reach out via telegram or messages via RUclips. Winners to any prizes or giveaways will always be contacted via phone or email. Please be vigilant and report any scammers! Thanks!
LinusTechTips made a really good video about it and still constantly rants about how youtube seems to not fully care about it, he also has a really good video on how to fix it. its not a 100% solution but it is a temporary fix for the issue you have with bots, when you have the time I would highly recommend it
Thanks Mike. I recently got a Telegram “supposedly” by you, attached to that initial video about the Cessna’s engine inexplicably quitting. I made a legitimate comment. It was the first time I’ve heard about telegram. I tried responding, and finally I figured out how to do it. He said I was lucky to be in the drawing. Now somehow the name “Andrew Simon” is linked to that telegram session. Hope this helps you some.
Thanks Mike for letting people be aware of these scammers. It comes through as you have won a prize text this number. I fell for it for a minute then figured it out.
Could done with this Monday. Figured out it was a Bot fairly fast. Put a warning out, and reported over 21 contacts by the same Bot. My very first bot contact, I just tried my best. Though I had little idea.
Thanks, Mike. These videos for me through a big part of the depression of COVID. And your passion for SAR moved me to get involved with Civil Air Patrol. Since scrappy started I’ve joined and gotten 3 ratings, and it was these videos that pushed me to do it. Thank you
What features would you like on scrappy? Mike: “yes, all of them” I have honestly never seen or even met someone with so much talent, crazy what he is capable of
Missed this video until now, noticed scrappy had a longer snout this year at Oshkosh vs last year, cool to see the changes in person as well as behind the scenes!
Well, my friend, not only are you getting better at building planes, but you're getting better as a husband too! Proud of you, Mike! Blessings to you and your family!!!
Mike, you are probably one of the few people in the world that could ‘improve on perfection,’ but you did it - again! I’m so glad you were able to resolve the weight and balance issues you mentioned and Scrappy looks awesome! By the way, your house and pool is looking pretty spectacular as well, WOW!
Watching you complete these builds is amazing.. But we would love to actually see you fly it, please share some flying videos. In cockpit, startup shutdown etc!!
Mike, Good to see some content from You. We loved the Scrappy Build Series. With all of Your business's running full tilt, I am surprised that You made the time to give us an update. Happy that You did ! What ever You want to publish, I'll watch it.
Not a pilot but this almost 75 year old enjoy every video you make. Missed a great opportunity when I was 16 in the Civil Air Patrol to go off for 4 weeks and get my solo license. Wanted to work and buy me a car that summer. Somebody kick my ass. Be safe and wishing you fair weather in your travels.
family is important, glad you got to spend the road trip with them. we know you are so busy in life and love the short updates, but really do miss the more in depth build videos
As someone involved with operations and maintenance, super happy to see access panels to allow ease of maintenance! And I know I speak for others, too, just want to say what an inspiration you have been to me personally. I consider you one of our national treasures. Thank you for the videos and for allowing us to be a part of your inventive process.
Mike Patey I know you’ve been tempted at times to install a turbo prop in Scrappy and I think it have been really exciting to see how Scrappy performed with a Turboprop. I believe you’ve made the right choice staying with a conventional engine, even though there isn’t really anything conventional about that 780 however a Turboprop isn’t within everyone’s budget and a bigger piston driven engine is. So many people have installed LS based engines into their airplanes Thanks for the great content and I can’t wait for the next build. Draco X
I didn't get a chance to watch this until after I returned from OSH, where we finally met in person. I couldn't help referring to my own photos while watching this video. Such subtlety of design! So now we got something else in common (just barely): we both flew our recently completed (or modified) aircraft to OSH! So good to finally be a fully fledged member of the OSH aviation community! Thanks again for all the inspiration.
You just absolutely cannot leave well enough alone. And I freaking LOVE IT!!! I so cannot wait to see this when it’s done. Well , when it’s done again. LOL
I just found your channel. I have no idea what you are talking about but you talk about it so passionately I am almost compelled to watch. You may be the coolest nerd in the world. I love it.
I’m so excited to finally see this in person! I’ve watched the build from the beginning. My new job is taking me to Oshkosh and I couldn’t be more stoked!
Mike, perfect change @ 11:47 to decent music, those nasty guitar riffs early on reminded me of those car build shows where the project was being rushed because they do not teach anything it's all about the fake drama. Back to Coffee!
You would be a fun guy to know and have as a friend. It's your energy. It's creative and radiant. Keep your videos coming! They're wonderful and very educational.
I'm thinking that the only reason that Mike didn't just go ahead and put a turbo-prop in Scrappy is that he wants to be able to offload fuel to his buddies planes.
While I love the technical and scientific side of your videos, it is awesome to see your family priorities are just as important. It is so easy to get lost in work, projects and important things in our lives. It's great to see a hard working American and family man working at both! God bless!
Mike, I always amazed by your enthusiasm and ingenuity can not wait for your future videos. Enjoy Oshkosh together with your great family. Safe travels.
Usually a Sawzall is used when the airplane is going to be trucked somewhere for a static display. Kudo's to Mike Patey for getting right on the new engine mount moving the CG forward for a better loading envelope. 🤑🤠👍
Hey Mike! If you remember last year at Oshkosh I was the one that said you should TwinTurbo scrappy and add wastegate dumps to the side like the Hoonicorn! I remember you enjoying the idea so I’m glad you’re going through with it!
I think my favorite part of this video is you the taking time to drive to Osh Kosh with your family. The long nose looks great. Watching you take a sawzall to the motor mounts was traumatic for bit, then I realized it was Mike Patey, it'll be fine lol
I can’t wait to meet you at Oshkosh. It’s my life goal to shake your hand. I have never in my life aligned with someone as much as I do to you. After my dad you are the next most inspiring person.
Mike, I sure wish there were a lot more guys like you. Thanks for all the great videos. Hey, it was SO COOL that you got to work with a couple other good guys, Matt (off road recovery) and D. Sparks. What a great team!! Best always.
@9:20 “I've often gone to a Bed Bath and Beyond and found some plastic part to start a mold for something completely different”. I though I was the only one who did stuff like that. 😁 Sometimes I'd even buy an item just because the plastic packaging was the right shape. I was wandering around a store searching for the exact right thing and an associate asked what I'm looking for. I replied, “inspiration”! 😎
Would love to see a cross country flight video😉 You are really a master in blending and forming. You just cut up the cowling and put an extension in between without it being obvious in the end result is mind blowing.
Its just Awesome. I'm sure I must be watching this channel most of the time with my mouth open! What Mike and his "family" achieve is just unbelievable. What they achieve in a year, is more than most of us achieve in a lifetime. Thank you guys for entertaining us, really appreciated.
One of the big issues we have in our area is”Northern California “ is the lack of DPE’s. And diverse availability on what they can check ride for. You guys would make excellent DPE’s. Build them all.
So - radio silence for like 6 months - then all the sudden - THIS. Yer killin' us, Mike! lol Back to work, with more (frequent) videos! ;) Have fun at Osh!
You've got 'normal' influencers who get free stuff from companies and there's Mike Patey who certainly deserves the free equipment from Garmin! The work he puts into his planes is amazing!
Sorry mike i left my phone in the rain and killed it. I was medically retired at 65 three years ago. I don't have enough strength to paraglide any more, but I still fly my rc planes. It is so gratifying to watch your videos and see your interest in building aircraft as close to scratch as possible. Wow when I see how scrappy was transformed into such a workhorse I couldn't believe my eyes. I hope some of my suggestions were of some use to you. I was devastated to see Droco rolled up in a ball. I was so glad to hear you were all OK. If you have plans to build something new I will be happy to give any suggestions on line. PS your friend in the air and on the ground Bill Campbell
Can't believe I missed this prior to AV. I barely looked at Scrappy this year as I thought it was the same. Bummer. The longer nose actually makes the plane look more balanced. Great work as usual! Now get back to work on DRACO!!! ;-)

Loss of the NOS box truly sounds like divine intervention Mike. You don't loose anything!! Can't wait to see the turbos!!!
Thanks, Mike. These videos for me through a big part of the depression of COVID. And your passion for SAR moved me to get involved with Civil Air Patrol. Since scrappy started I’ve joined and gotten 3 ratings, and it was these videos that pushed me to do it. Thank you
Mike Patey. He stands on his work.
What features would you like on scrappy?

This video could have been 2 hours and I would've watched every second. There was so much not shown but I imagine it was a ton of work. Great job ! 👊😎
I would agree, should do some more detail in these for us eng guys to drool more.
Agree 100%
100%!!!!
Yup 100%
💯
Great new look for Scrappy but most importantly savor and enjoy that sweet family time!!!!!!!
You’re our family, too, Mike. Love you!

Oh, MP never flies. He only builds ;->
@@rickkennerly2379 Sands. You mean sands. I swear he doesn't mold anything, he just sands the shapes into the materials
You were blessed with great tallent and what is wonderful is the way you use it. Thank you for sharing.
Mike! It looked so natural I didnt even notice the changes at Osh! Then I see this video later in August. Well done, Amigo!

Hanging around with Cleetus does give one a desire for twin turbos! The longer nose looks Awsome!

I cried when u cut the engine strut brace!
NOW plenty of room for the PT-6
Mike, always fun to see your ideas materialize. Great work, Ron. Thanks, Mrs. Patey, for sharing Mike.
🙋♂️ "Back to work!"
Next project: Let's get this channel to the million subscribers it deserves.
Should have made a mini P-51 radiator scoop for your turbo intake.

I'm really glad Scrappy is growing up and won't be a bottle baby anymore.
Family is important ,I hope you guys have a wonderful time driving to Oshkosh.
Mike, perfect change @ 11:47 to decent music, those nasty guitar riffs early on reminded me of those car build shows where the project was being rushed because they do not teach anything it's all about the fake drama. Back to Coffee!
Your every day is better then our vacations can’t imagine how cool your vacations must be.
You would be a fun guy to know and have as a friend. It's your energy. It's creative and radiant. Keep your videos coming! They're wonderful and very educational.
Mike, there is no telling how many people you are influencing to do things right and even better. God bless you, my friend.
Mike, you are a complete NUTCASE! I love your insane over speced engineering and builds... and all you do!
Keep it those SICK projects going!
Wow. Great update and just love the videos. Have a great time at Oshkosh.
I had a crazy dream that I was flying in Scrappy last night, and I get a video today 👍
Number 4 for the scamper treatment. Wtf is going on?
The whole world should know about this guy. There ought to be a Nobel Prize or something for what Mike does.
Nice that you are getting the family time in!
Scrappy keeps getting cooler all the time. You do amazing work.
Bless ya brother, wife and family FIRST!
Now you have it right.
Grandpa Ted here!
Turbo Scrappy! Just when you thought Mike built the ultimate bush plane... he goes and makes it even better!
I'm thinking that the only reason that Mike didn't just go ahead and put a turbo-prop in Scrappy is that he wants to be able to offload fuel to his buddies planes.

Safe travels.
When a man has a Sawzall and is cutting on a plane, you know he knows what he's doing and has some big big plans!
Usually a Sawzall is used when the airplane is going to be trucked somewhere for a static display. Kudo's to Mike Patey for getting right on the new engine mount moving the CG forward for a better loading envelope. 🤑🤠👍
He is back 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you, again, for all you and your family are doing for all of us 🌎
With love , 🇫🇷 😁🤗
Can’t wait for Oshkosh now! Visiting from Australia and Oshkosh itself is on the bucket list but now to see you and scrappy both! Dream come true
"Were you calling me 'fat'?" - Pfffffffffhahahaha, these meme snippets are killing me... 😂😂😂
Mike it was great seeing Scrappy at Oshkosh, I took lots of photos, I just missed meeting you! maybe next year.
Hey Mike! If you remember last year at Oshkosh I was the one that said you should TwinTurbo scrappy and add wastegate dumps to the side like the Hoonicorn! I remember you enjoying the idea so I’m glad you’re going through with it!
Looks great. Watching all your videos has inspired me to finish my Private Pilots License and I am 67.
06:00 when Mike says he's gonna push really hard! OMG
Awesome content as always
Nice to have you back with more of Scrappy...!
Gatorade should sponsor you and revamp their old campaign because "I wanna be like Mike!" You are so inspiring!

Super as usual. Thank You for sharing !! H.
A GREAT LOOKING AIRPLANE ! THANK YOU ! MIKE P. , YOU DO ALOT OF WORK , ! !
Loving the new video style… it’s like all graduated from scrappy 101 and now we are all more advanced. 👍🏻
I think my favorite part of this video is you the taking time to drive to Osh Kosh with your family. The long nose looks great. Watching you take a sawzall to the motor mounts was traumatic for bit, then I realized it was Mike Patey, it'll be fine lol
Supreme workmanship. What else can be said but wow.
I can’t wait to meet you at Oshkosh. It’s my life goal to shake your hand. I have never in my life aligned with someone as much as I do to you. After my dad you are the next most inspiring person.
Ill see you at Oshkosh cant wait to see you and scrappy there! You are a legend and inspiration in the aviation world!
Love it!!! Almost looks like a Carbon Cub and a Pilatus PC-6 had a child!! Keep up the great work!!!!!
Mike, I sure wish there were a lot more guys like you. Thanks for all the great videos. Hey, it was SO COOL that you got to work with a couple other good guys, Matt (off road recovery) and D. Sparks. What a great team!! Best always.
Love the way the front looks. It’s beefy.
it's good to see you again Mike.
Good wishes from İzmir/ Türkiye 🇹🇷

We miss you mike your craftsmanship is inspiring... My dad fly's small planes but I was never into it until I saw Draco keep the builds coming.
Gotta say that longer nose looks absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to see how the twin-turbo install goes!
I’m so excited for you to “Get back to work Mike “
😂😂👍🏻😎
Glad you're back, Hope to see you again sooner.
I love how the nose looks now… I think it’s much sexier with a long cowling!!! Great job Mike!!!
Build video yes!!!! Glad you’re back making excellent build content! Have fun at Oshkosh!
Would love to see a cross country flight video😉
You are really a master in blending and forming.
You just cut up the cowling and put an extension in between without it being obvious in the end result is mind blowing.
Looking forward to seeing you again Mike! Can’t wait to see scrappy too!
Awesome NEW LOOK! and C-G Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for a reminder of what a magnificent beast Scrappy is. It just keeps getting better!
That wing mechanism for the slats is so elegant.
Amazing plane.
I suggested a Plastic version sold by Horizon Hobby as a Coffee table version... or on his web site like the Spar parts.
Its just Awesome. I'm sure I must be watching this channel most of the time with my mouth open! What Mike and his "family" achieve is just unbelievable. What they achieve in a year, is more than most of us achieve in a lifetime. Thank you guys for entertaining us, really appreciated.
You are the third who got this. It seems like a bot and a scam. I tried to warn people here, but they seem to have deleted my warning
It takes true confidence in your abilities to just saw off the motor mounts. Again, thanks for the inspiration!
I am sure more than a few of us were cringing at that! But, having said that, it is Mike and total confidence it will be better then before.
I went from horror to awesome watching the presentation. The standard of finishing is 2nd to none. Unbelievable.
One of the big issues we have in our area is”Northern California “ is the lack of DPE’s. And diverse availability on what they can check ride for. You guys would make excellent DPE’s. Build them all.

twins basel!!! TWINS! mike, you are the man!!!!!!! i like the way you think!
I could see mike going shopping with his wife at Bed Bath and Beyond and going :O My Gosh That ... would make the perfect mold for scrappy! haha
It is perfect now, but you know what you doing Mike, love it
You are an aviators aviator. Good to the plane and good to the family. A model to us all.🙂
You gotta love that he uses particle board for mold making lol. True DIYer
You've got 'normal' influencers who get free stuff from companies and there's Mike Patey who certainly deserves the free equipment from Garmin! The work he puts into his planes is amazing!
Glad to see some scrappy content back on the channel.
