  • We are getting ready for twin turbos on Scrappy so we cut off the motor, extended the mount, reshaped the cowling, and added a whole bunch of things, check it out! Also...we are headed to Oshkosh! If you are going, stop by and shake my hand. I love meeting members of my aviation family. Check social media for appearance locations and times!

LinusTechTips made a really good video about it and still constantly rants about how youtube seems to not fully care about it, he also has a really good video on how to fix it. its not a 100% solution but it is a temporary fix for the issue you have with bots, when you have the time I would highly recommend it

Thanks Mike. I recently got a Telegram “supposedly” by you, attached to that initial video about the Cessna’s engine inexplicably quitting. I made a legitimate comment.
It was the first time I’ve heard about telegram. I tried responding, and finally I figured out how to do it. He said I was lucky to be in the drawing. Now somehow the name “Andrew Simon” is linked to that telegram session. Hope this helps you some.

Mike Patey I know you’ve been tempted at times to install a turbo prop in Scrappy and I think it have been really exciting to see how Scrappy performed with a Turboprop. I believe you’ve made the right choice staying with a conventional engine, even though there isn’t really anything conventional about that 780 however a Turboprop isn’t within everyone’s budget and a bigger piston driven engine is. So many people have installed LS based engines into their airplanes
Thanks for the great content and I can’t wait for the next build. Draco X

That wing mechanism for the slats is so elegant.

I suggested a Plastic version sold by Horizon Hobby as a Coffee table version... or on his web site like the Spar parts.

So - radio silence for like 6 months - then all the sudden - THIS.
    Yer killin' us, Mike! lol

He just cut off the engine mount! So much quicker than unbolting the mounts! So cool 😀! Am I the only one who wishes for a constant speed prop? Just imagine what a rocket Scrappy must be at altitude!! A STOL-Rocket ;-)

Maybe you can add some sliding barbell weights somewhere in the fuselage for quick CG adjustments, in case you have some unexpected CG issues.
